The best restaurants in Dublin

17/05/2026: I have to say used to love this take away , but tonight I ordered a kebab and burger and the lettuce was so soft and sluggish . In the kebab there was not enough sauce and also it was supposed to be a mixed kebab were there was hardly any chicken in it , I wouldn’t order here again unfortunately.

20/03/2026: I went into Rocca’s today for Lunch. Got a Cod portion, onion rings (x3) and a chicken Kebab. The onion rings were burnt, the cod portion was fine but the chicken Kebab was absolutely ridiculous. When I opened the bag it was all over the bag, bread torn and smothered in sauce. Not enjoyable at all and the chicken was like rubber. As I was leaving I decided to get a small bottle of BPM, €3.50 for a drink is not ok 🙌🏼 I would not recommend this place anymore as 2 minutes away at killester is a nicer place. I know Rocca’s my whole life since I was a kid. I used to get the animal box meal for kids when I was only 6. To see this place go completely downhill is a shame as it’s had a good run as one of the nicer chippers in the area.

26/06/2026: I am deeply concerned by reports that have been shared publicly regarding the Donaghmede Inn and the alleged treatment of members of the Irish Traveller community. According to public statements made by JP Collins, he and his wife were allegedly refused service because they are members of the Traveller community. If these allegations are accurate, this would amount to discrimination based on ethnicity, which has no place in any business or community. Everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their background. People should be judged by their own conduct, not by stereotypes or assumptions about the community they belong to. I hope the management addresses these allegations publicly and provides a clear account of what happened. If discrimination did occur, I hope appropriate steps are taken to ensure it never happens again. Businesses should be welcoming to everyone and uphold the principles of equality and fair treatment. Allegations like these are serious, and transparency from all parties is important so the public can have confidence that everyone is treated fairly.

18/06/2026: A good burger in a petrol station. The lad behind the counter was excellent, took time to help me decide what I wanted. It helped it was a Wednesday where they had an €11 meal deal. Waiting in the garage shop was a bit odd but that was where it was. Accidental find, I think they call it serendipity when it works out

12/05/2026: We ordered the Angus beef burger, chips and 12 chicken wings with bbq sauce. My husband enjoyed the wings, to note they are cooked from frozen according to the staff. My burger and chips were cooked and sitting on the counter for about 5 minutes before the wings were cooked and they were both cold when served although the chips were tasty with skins on. Also there wasnt enough burger sauce in the burger and the bun wasnt toasted. I won't eat here again.

28/06/2026: 2024: I think it’s under new ownership as is so different, Food was bland, ordering was awkward. Unfortunate as previous owners ran a great shop. Update 2026 (with photos) Really poor food, terrible quality of meat / ingredients..awful smell of fish in the shop, dirty inside. The chicken seemed old and refried as was extremely greasy and tough, the prawn toast was so poor, laughable really, 2cm thick at most. A real shame as the previous owners of this place slung some seriously good grub. Avoid.

30/07/2026: Found the staff here friendly, but the price point is way off. Paid almost a tenner for a small sandwich (even though it was one of their 'signature range'). Still hungry after it. Probably the dearest place around Nassau Street but there are many better places close by to get much better value for money.

20/05/2026: I got a Won Ton soup which was delicious and Spring Rolls also delicious, BUT I also ordered Quarter Duck with pancakes, it was disgusting, pancakes in a plastic back dried up as were the the vegetables that accompanied it, the duck was dried and hard,I've used this "Restaurant " fairly regularly (once a month) never again.

25/06/2026: Fish and chips were very nice also the kebab box

08/05/2026: It is a takeout-only place that fries the food right there on the spot, so it took about 5 minutes. It was warm, and from an Asian perspective, the taste seems pretty much the same everywhere, but since the only condiments were vinegar and salt, it would be nice if there were more variety in the side dishes. It was an old-fashioned restaurant with a cool vibe, where the staff took care of us casually but without much thought.

29/07/2026: Great atmosphere. Julie mcCabe sings here on Monday nights 7 -10pm and she is absolutely brilliant. Everyone is welcome to sing and Julie gives great support. Always a great night. Spin the wheel is great fun too. 😀

28/06/2026: Only giving 2 stars because my favourite staff have all left 😒My work colleagues and I have been getting our coffee from here every weekday. The draw is actually the friendly barista staff, Sam, Franco, Abbie, Karl and there is another tall lad but I cannot remember his name . They are always polite and friendly . We still miss Sean though

17/06/2026: Lava coffe is the best you can get dark roast or mild. They are in most Applegreen garages its part of our moving ritual.

24/08/2026: Clean place, got order wrong but very quick to bring it out once notified so overall great experience and friendly staff.

09/07/2026: This pub is being ran into the ground by the SON of the joint/co owner. to many staff behind a small bar falling over each other and even the SON has tripped his father up several times who is in his 80's, he runs around like a headless chicken, always seems to be panicking, after talking to my niece who drank there in the past and her conversations with bar staff and regulars over the years it's believed he the SON may be BI PILOR, staff never stay for long, bar 1 lad Luke, so obviously he's a yes man, he then asks why staff are leaving 2 go 2 a local bar he won't accept the reasons of not only his ignorance towards patrons but staff alike, he won't speak to them in privacy he makes a holy show of them in front of the whole pub, and asks why they are leaving, one former staff member now works in delaneys around the corner well there's actually 2 but this 1 young lad was serving my niece around the whole Covid after covid time and she requested she and her boyfriend have 2 drinks from the same glasses, so the young gent proceeded to pull the pints and the BALD GLASSES WEARING SON actually slapped the drinks from the lads hand, my niece is a manager in booths and told the SON, she requested the drinks in such way and the fact he was out of order and rude and obnoxious and dog ignorant, the young lad gave them there drinks and my niece told him DO NOT LET HIM the SON do that to you or anyone, most of the bad comments on here are all related to the SON who is clearly running the pub into the ground with his rude and panicking ways and shocking attitude, patrons and staff alike say he has a lot of family problems, we'll like all professionals you must leave you're problems at home or at worst the front door, he's a walking heart attack waiting to happen, it's a hard one for TOMMY an absolute gent of a man, a dieing breed sadly to have to say to his son change you're ways or leave, but he has to do something and soon he won't always be around sadly. the son is a failed prison officer didn't last long in the job, and we see why, he's still friends with them all do as they go in for sneaky pints from 10AM Onwards as do some local pi$$ heads needing a curior as we used to call it, how this man has not gotten a slap is beyond belief, staff former and present and likewise patrons can't all be wrong TOMMY AND CO OWNER'S , please sort him out or sack him and get in a real bar manager, not someone who thinks they own the place and is invincible like ROCKY why have a review spot if you the manager/co owners are not going to publish it, seems you're not able f9r constructive criticism

15/08/2026: The service was quick and the staff were very helpful. Ordering through the self-service kiosk was easy and straightforward. Unfortunately, the food itself was just okay. The burger was fine, but the fries had a noticeable taste of old cooking oil. I also ordered a Coke Zero, and it didn't taste like Coke Zero at all. We know the taste very well, and this tasted as if there was some residue in the drinks machine or perhaps the machine needed cleaning. Overall, the service was very good, but the quality of the food and drink could definitely be improved.

16/07/2026: The manager which was working was talking to me in a very rude tone because they made a mistake and didn’t bring me my table service order.

24/07/2026: I have been visiting this business for a few months now. overall the food quality has been decent for the price you pay. You pay what you get. Customer experience: not good. Tried to order food by phone today as usual, the staff is too basic, if you not what I mean, tried to order french fries and I was told "I cant understand you" in a very rude tone. As soon as I said chips all of a sudden the lady understood. The quality of the Cheese Chips was awful, not like I am used too. the Cheese was like it was prepared a couple of days ago and the fries were soggy. Not a good experience at all. I payed 7 euro , not worth 2 euro though.

07/06/2026: The food is nice, the staff are friendly, and the location is excellent. The updated entrance now looks much better and gives the place a more welcoming feel. It’s a great little fish and chips takeaway.
