The best restaurants in Dublin

06/06/2026: Not sure if they were having a bad day in the kitchen or we were unwanted Americans but we came in with a party of 6 in the afternoon on a Friday and felt an immediate unwanted feeling. We were pleasant and thankful, they were not. Whatever was going on, It really showed in the food. We ordered 3 fish and chips, all of which had sopping with grease chips and fish and only like 12 chips underneath the fish. My fish had raw batter underneath it on the skin side. I absolutely love haddock so I was super disappointed. Two of us had stomach aches after from all the grease. I was super bummed. I brought my family there to enjoy a taste of something they are known for and it was absolute trash. We also ordered the calamari, underdone and the meat kept falling away from the batter. It was white so they must have flash fried. For both dishes, we all kept looking around at plates around us and seeing a more traditional portion of chips and an appetizer (enough for 3 people to share) and a well cook on the fish and calamari closer to an amber color. Ours definitely didn’t match up. For what you pay, you would think they’d give you more of the cheapest ingredient on the plate. Super disappointed with this experience. If you’re a tourist American, they may not want your business

02/06/2026: Good food focused on seafood dishes, such as the fish and prawn pie, or the cod fish and chips. If you can't eat gluten, they'll make it without the batter. The staff is very friendly.

01/06/2026: We recently celebrated a birthday up at Joel's we were in one one of the glass rooms there was an abba experience at the front of the restaurant but we could hear clearly and it really added to the great atmosphere. Food and service was excellent as always as we frequent Joel's alot for family get together. Thanks a mill

23/07/2025: Terrible experiencia, el puño del camarero no tenía experiencia, luego cambió más y cuando me di cuenta de eso y le dije que se estaba haciendo el tonto y luego fue realmente grosero, al final el gerente me devolvió el dinero pero el camarero fue un dolor.

14/06/2025: i went into the circular with pure joy. the atmosphere was amazing with the music the people and the workers. i ordered a coke zero and got served by a lovely young man called denise he kept me accompanied and made me feel welcome. amazing service

12/04/2026: This restaurant is beautiful, I spend a good time. But the food is too basic, I think you can make at home the kind of meals that they offer. I ask for a club sandwich and want tasteful at all, and the frites aren’t home made. And my husband asked for Irish breakfast and was with a lot of oil.

07/04/2026: Food here is lovely. I had the beef burger and it was one of the nicest I’ve had in a while. Was served with a spicy tomato sauce on the side that was amazing. Staff are very friendly. Prices are good too for Dublin. Will visit again.

23/12/2025: I was there last weekend for a few drinks with neighbours. The atmosphere is excellent and the service was fast and really good waiters and waitresses. We had 3 drinks and spent almost 30€, which is kinda ok. I haven't tried the food, but it looked really nice and the menu very interesting. Seems like they put a lot of care on what they serve. We requested a quieter area (it can get noisy) and there is this little table for 7/8 people in a little room that was just perfect. Looking forward to trying their food!

21/11/2025: This place used to be great. New chef is good. The food is good. Used to be great with the spicy chicken but it’s still good . There’s been a big turnover of managers. There’s a new guy there now. He has changed the whole vibe. We used to go there a lot. Not so much now. He is rude and unfriendly. Tries to be efficient but manages to come across as bossy and grumpy. His interaction with the staff is appalling. Some staff said reluctantly but very respectfully that he’s hard to work under. We left our most recent visit early and went elsewhere as we felt under pressure and unwelcome. It seems Pat has taken a step back and left Mary Kate and this new guy Glenn to run the show. It seems to have lost the friendly local vibe and some of the long standing amazing staff have left.

11/05/2026: My partner and I walked to Farmer Browns this past Sunday 10/05/26, hoping to enjoy the evening sun with some food and a drink or two. After waiting patiently for a table outside, we finally managed to snag a spot in the sun at approximately 5:55pm. ​Unfortunately, the experience went downhill immediately. A waitress came to our table, cleared the previous occupants' glasses, and walked away without acknowledging us or providing menus. After waiting a few moments, my partner went inside to order drinks and inquire about food. She was met by three staff members who barely acknowledged her presence. When she asked about ordering, she was told the kitchen had already stopped serving food and they were only doing drinks (??) despite the posted Sunday kitchen hours stating they serve until 8pm. ​To say we were appalled by this is an understatement, so we decided to take our business elsewhere. It felt as though there was a complete lack of supervision or proper management on-site, and the staff simply decided to close the kitchen early for their own convenience. ​Management should take note of this, as it was a significant lapse in service and basic hospitality. We won't be rushing back.

10/04/2026: Been multiple times at this stage and the burgers are always amazing and leave you feeling full. Great atmosphere too later in the evening.

05/05/2026: Thoroughly enjoyed our meal here, we'll definitely be back with family and friends.

03/05/2026: Great experience at Nando’s Dublin 2. The grilled chicken was juicy and well seasoned, sides were tasty, and the service was good. Recommend! 🫶

28/11/2025: It was really really nice, wasn't the biggest fan of the fava beans but the rest was lovely! Also grabbed some meringue and piccadillo which I'm excited to try! Lovely people running it and lovely people eating there. The aubergine is a must have if it's on the menu, one of the tastiest things I've ever had hands down. Also, it was my first time having veal and it was served with a tuna sauce and capers over it which was a lot of new flavours for me but soooo good.
