13/12/2024: I had a wonderful 1 night stay on Tuesday 10th December with my mum as part of my 40th Celebration. There was a lovely birthday message on the dressing table with chocolates and fruits which was well designed. Room was spotless and so comfortable.

12/12/2024: This 5 star review is for Isabella in the Spa. What a fantastic experience I had with her today! She is incredibly talented and really listened to my concerns. One of the BEST massages I have ever had- I’ll be back for a treatment for sure!!🤎 In regard's to the hotel- we are pleasantly surprised by how nice it is. The only fault we have is, we weren’t offered help taking our luggage in, when there were plenty of people at concierge and they could clearly see we were struggling with pram, baby, bags etc. It could do with a general refresh but the tree in the room is a lovely touch!

11/12/2024: Excellent fresh and delicious food in a casual, cozy setting. Although Market Lane is predominantly a fish restaurant, they have a decent selection for everyone. The fish dishes are exceptionally fresh abs tasty with a slight lean towards pub grub but far more refined. There was only one vegan option for starter and main. However, it was very obviously not an afterthought, and the dishes were innovative, delicious, and presented perfectly. The wine selection is great, and the cocktails are works of art. Service is also unbeatable. A great all rounder with something for everyone.

04/12/2024: This restaurant has got glowing reviews and having dined there recently I can confirm it deserves its high rating. 2 different menus, one tasting the other a la carte. Great variety on both. Staff were friendly and helpful with detailed explanation of dishes. Food was outstanding.

17/12/2024: The White Horse 🐎 is a fantastic restaurant. I had a perfectly cooked Angus beef burger. It was juicy, flavorful, and satisfying. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. The staff are polite and I will recommend this place while visiting Ballincollig and nearby areas.

01/11/2024: Fabulous place, great atmosphere. Had the steak which was cooked to perfection, bottle of Argentinian Malbec , followed by the orange cake. Great service too.

15/12/2024: Food is delicious! I got the soup of the day, which happened to be a lovely carrot and turnip with cream. It had great consistency and the cream perfectly contrasted with the textured topping. The pan fried hake is always my go to, and it has never disappointed. Today, it was served with a tangy chickpea salad which paired beautifully with the milder and less overpowering flesh of the hake. Topped with a spinach and lime sauce, this was phenomenal. For dessert, I recommend the affogato. The expresso with vanilla ice cream is a great way to freshen up, especially after a heavy meal. Only lost points are for not offering tap water unless specifically requested. You will be charged an extra five euro for water otherwise, which seems a bit deceptive. Nevertheless, staff are always very accommodating and friendly. The starter bread itself is also one of my favourites on its own and is baked on site. Would definitely recommend! Edit: raised my rating to 5 stars as Jacobs really does stand out from everywhere else I've dined at in the last weeks!

30/11/2024: We have been big fans of Jacobs for many years but the service and food has been slipping for about 18months now. The food was very disappointing,especially their non meat options which they used to excel in. The only main option they have for both vegetarians and vegans for the festive season is chickpeas in a bowl of lettuce, it was a pathetic excuse for a main course. The food is expensive but the quality just isn't there anymore and the portion size isn't good enough, a half a black pudding if you order that as a starter is insulting for the prices being charged. Our server was rude on more than one occasion during our dinner and responded she was busy everytime we made a request such as an extra side dish when it was clear the vegetarian main was such a poor offering. Overall it was unfortuantely the last straw for us after a series of poor visitis.

15/11/2024: Nice atmosfeer, very good bar. But only gluten free beer is Peroni. This could be better when I compare to other bars in Cork. Edit: last time, they also served a 9 White Deer Stag gluten free beer. Good addition!

02/12/2024: If we could give Jacques 10* we would. Such great service, wine to die for, and the food was just superb 👌. 3 of us shared 5 small plates and to finish a cheese board and I can't recommend this place enough.

02/12/2024: I ate here last week. Staff were friendly but left us sitting for 20 minutes before we could order and it wasn’t busy in thee. They kept forgetting what drinks were ordered and came back 3 times to ask. Kids burger meal was fine and the ice cream. I ordered lasagna and garlic bread, garlic bread was so hard, pretty much stale and had no taste of garlic off it. The lasagna had no flavor from it, tasted like a cheap sauce and was mushy like it was just reheated in the microwave. My partner ordered a burger and chips which cost 18.50 and was a tiny bit bigger than the kids one. We left here still hungry after spending over 50 ero for the 3 of us. Definitely won’t be back.

24/11/2024: Make sure you have room cause everything was delicious. My first time there the staff were so warm and welcoming great options on the menu I'm vegetarian there was lots of choice and my family had lots of meat opinions will definitely return

20/12/2024: Yum! So good...we both got the Christmas classic which is classic eggs benedict. I got sauce on the side! The staff the were fab, food was lovely and really enjoyed it overall

14/12/2024: Was here last night with lovely Ursula and some of our great friends for dinner Super ambience here and nice buzz. The food was superb. Everyone enjoyed it immensely. I had sizzling prawns and they were great! We were attended to by the lovely Deirdre. Overall a smashing experience. Highly recommended

09/12/2024: My partner and I decided to meet some friends that we had not met in a while for dinner. I spent a considerable amount of time looking at reviews and menus online of other restaurants around Cork. Many other restaurants were fully booked as I had left it I little too late! Quinlan’s had a table available so we decided to give it ago. We weren’t going in completely blind as we had all heard of the great food and experiences others had had in their killarney restaurants. We showed up ten minutes before our booking and it was quite busy but nonetheless we were seated immediately at a lovely snug and private booth before being handed menus and having the specials explained to us. The staff were timely and helpful. Between us we had scallops and fish cakes to start both of which were lovely. For our mains we enjoyed tuna steak, Atlantic prawns, and salmon, again all of which were incredible. To finish we had brownies and sticky toffee pudding which were both lovely ( Even I, who often don’t enjoy sweet treats scoffed down the dessert). The service was brilliant. It was quick and friendly. We were often checked upon and anything we needed or asked for was supplied. We were not hurried to leave and we sat and enjoyed the last remnants of the lovely bottle of white wine we shared. All in all, we all had a wonderful time. I would thoroughly implore anybody who enjoys seafood to give a visit here. I will most definitely be returning and advising others looking for dinner to consider Quinlan’s!

20/11/2024: There is nothing I didn’t like about the place. The atmosphere was amazing, one of the best service it the city and the food was great. I couldn’t recommend this restaurant enough 10/10
