The best restaurantsof irish in Cork

13/07/2025: We visited for an evening meal only. I was disappointed in a number of ways. We were in a dining room where a couple were regularly complaining, so they got all of the attention while we waited for service. But besides that, the table in the corner, us, was overlooked on multiple occasions. The beef was passable at best. The dessert trolly was very poor. There were items like roulade, sorbet, fool, and fruit compote, so all easy and soft. Basically a dessert for a granny, no texture. Will not be back. Very poor.

22/06/2025: This Hotel has everything to make it a perfect getaway to recharge the batteries and have wonderful time with your partner. We only had the one night there but squeezed so much in. The e-bikes make it so easy to explore all of the trails that you can walk if you have time. The food was as you expect it having the name Ballymaloe attached to it. Plentiful choices for lunch, fab 5 course dinner and excellent drinks/wine options. Left after the 1 night tasting more of the wonderful cuisine with a hearty Ballymaloe full Irish 😋

19/07/2025: Had a delicious lunch here - fresh hake in a mussel veloute with broccoli and a potato/colcannon cake followed by apple pie and coffee. Good sized portions and all very well presented. Service was friendly and helpful and smiley. We will return.

21/07/2025: Good food. Very cosy, warm and welcoming. We had family lunch there and the food was great. The fish was very well served.

12/07/2025: Have visited this restaurant many times before and it was always lovely however on this occasion it was seriously lacking. I ordered a Coke Zero and traditional fish and chips. The waitress brought me a Diet Coke and never explained that they had no Coke Zero until I noticed the mistake and asked then she admitted that it was Diet Coke instead of just being up front from the start. The fish and chips were bland, the fish was tasteless and the chips were frozen chips. Extremely below average. We won’t be back.

16/06/2025: Went here for Sunday morning brunch on a recommendation and I loved this place. We had to queue for a table for maybe 15 minutes or so but this was managed very well and there was no confusion about who was next or anyone being forgotten about. Inside the dining area is decorated beautifully and laid out very well, all in all a delightful place to be. The toilets were nice and clean. The young staff were organised, efficient and even friendly! You don't get that combination very often, especially from younger staff, cudos on that. And finally the food was top notch. I got the full Irish and I nearly licked the plate. I thought it was good value. My smally got the pancakes with Nutella. They struck me as kitchen made and not shop bought. I had a taste and they were delicious. My other half got the eggs benedict and loved it. Everything was presented with a bit of thought gone into it. All in all, a fine example of how a restaurant should be run. I'll definitely be back!

08/07/2025: A small cafe at the side of the road, easy to find. Spotlessly clean vintage pub now serving food. Outside seating was lovely and quiet, with very little traffic on the road. There is no ocean view, but a pleasant planted area instead. The staff are friendly and their cake is very good. A water bowl was provided for dogs.

15/06/2025: Lovely pristine setting ,circular table meant we were all able to hear and see each other. Busy dining room but we were welcomed ,shown to our table and our orders taken promptly . Starters,main course and desserts were delicious.Most enjoyable .. The Vintage is celebrating 40 years in business,ours was a quality experience and we look forward to many more before the golden jubilee. Thank you.

26/05/2025: Unbooked, dinner on a friday pm at 7, fab dinner for 4, lovely welcome, great service, sea bass, vegetarian lasagne, roast lamb and a burger were the choices, each meal beautifully presented, tasty and appreiciated, 👏
