10/06/2026: Great homely atmosphere with very attentive, friendly staff. Food was Devine and realistic standard pricing of around €17 for a turkey and ham dinner with all the trimming eg roast potato, unreal mash, gravy, veg and Yorkshire pudding. Clean toilets and an outside area for smoking.

29/06/2026: Stopped off on way to West Cork. This restaurant had everything. Bright & tastefully decorated. Staff friendly and efficient. Great selection. I had the goats cheese quiche with salad which was delicious and my husband had the bacon dinner also delicious. Highly recommend!

14/07/2026: We arrived, were made wait 45 minutes for a chicken wrap and fish and chips, we then mentioned where is our food and it appeared 10 minutes later. The fish and chips were cold, and the chicken in the wrap was chewy and very hard eat. We left our food as we could not eat that, we mentioned it to the staff however she didn’t seem to be too bothered about what our issues. Such a shame because we were so excited to come here and essentially spent €45 on nothing.

14/05/2026: Meal out was fantastic here tonight. Lovely mushroom starter and the scampi was top notch for a main course. My partner loved the roast beef. Yummy brownie for desert. There's a lovely atmosphere with great service. Lovely selection of wine also. Highly recommend.
14/05/2026: The food was brutal and barely edible. In fact, some of our party couldn’t even eat the food. It was so bad. Do not waste your time and money.

28/06/2026: I came here because it was highly recommended, unfortunately the service was terrible. We waited at the door no one greeted us, another server didn’t even tell us the specials. However the waiter who was a women was very kind such a shame that the other two waiters ruined my experience.
29/05/2026: Went for an evening meal. Food was average. Service was transactional with serving staff not engaging or particularly interested in their customers. It may help if a singular member of staff were allocated to a certain set of tables to try to create some connection. We got a different person at each stage of the meal. We didn't leave a tip...

10/06/2026: Restaurant Chestnut was a once in a lifetime dining experience. We did a tasting menu and everyone dish was delicious and deliberate. The staff was attentive but subtle. The music was romantic, the bowls were even beautiful! I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant! This was the perfect end to our honeymoon!
22/05/2026: Every course was so beautifully presented and thoughtful. There were some creative combinations which were incredibly delicious and we’ve never seen them anywhere else. Plus the team work so well together and are so knowledgeable - it made the experience really pleasant, thank you!
