24/10/2026: Second time been to this chippy when visiting my cousin! Was not disappointed. Amazing fish, chips, sausage and curry sauce. Owner was very friendly and nice to talk to! Love that you can sit in as well.

There is something so magical about soaking in that classic atmosphere while strolling past historic buildings 🏛️. Every corner I turned felt like stepping back in time, and the vibes were absolutely perfect. Of course, I made sure to indulge in the local food scene because everything I tasted was delicious 😋. It is honestly so refreshing to find a spot that feels this authentic and welcoming. The locals I met were incredibly kind and made my visit feel extra special. I truly loved connecting with such pleasant people while exploring the neighborhood 🗺️. Finding hidden gems like this always makes my day so much brighter. I am already dreaming about when I can return to this lovely destination again. 27/09/2026: This restaurant, unexpectedly close to the Old Head lookout, 10 km from Kinsale, is very informal and offers beautiful sea views. It offers simple seafood dishes and more. The service is good and friendly. It's worth a stop when you arrive close to lunchtime after enjoying the view of the cliffs.

03/10/2026: If I could give minus stars for the atmosphere I would. Dreadful experience here today with my family. They are sitting on a brilliant location and disappointed with the whole experience. Music was unbelievably loud, very overstimulating for myself and my two young children. Pity they don’t listen to their customers request to turn down the noise especially when I asked three different members of staff kindly to turn it down a notch or two. Food menu very poor for children.

07/09/2026: A group of us stopped off here for lunch on Sunday 6th September. Had ordered in advance. Food was delicious and the girls were magnificent.

06/09/2026: Outstanding restaurant. Food was absolutely delicious. It may have been served in a pub but it was leagues beyond your standard pub grub. Staff were super friendly and attentive. Atmosphere really relaxed and pleasant. Highly recommend.

09/10/2026: The blue LED lights out front are shockingly blinding as you drive down the road towards the entrance. And the same lights around the exterior do nothing for the atmosphere of what otherwise could be a nice space. Unfortunately the bright blue light completely takes away from the historic look and feel of the thick thatch. A danger on the road for drivers and a disservice to the atmosphere of the space.

14/07/2026: We had an enjoyable lunch on their patio. The Toastie was a bit overcooked, but the setting was wonderful and shaded.

28/06/2026: I came here because it was highly recommended, unfortunately the service was terrible. We waited at the door no one greeted us, another server didn’t even tell us the specials. However the waiter who was a women was very kind such a shame that the other two waiters ruined my experience.

28/07/2026: On our way to Dublin Airport from Killarney found this great spot. Full of locals. Best desserts & sandwiches while others had dinner. Friendly staff. Well worth the stop.

27/08/2026: I like coming here by bike for coffee and a chocolate brownie. They are delicious. I definitely need to try other items from the menu sometime. A huge plus of this place is the outdoor seating. Of course, it is sometimes hard to find an open table, but that is only because it is a popular spot. The staff is very friendly, and even though it gets quite busy, everything has always gone smoothly. For me, it is an ideal stop during a bike ride to Crosshaven.

21/07/2026: Great spot, staff are so friendly and can't do enough for you, creating a great atmosphere. It's so clean and comfortable, no money has been spared on the furnishings. It has a pool, kids pool, sauna, jacuzzi and gym all lovely and clean. There's ample parking, with disabled spots, loads of room inside for buggies. There's lots of meeting/conference rooms (didn't see inside these), but can clearly cater for a lot of functions. Plenty of amenities in the area/village all within walking distance. I'll be staying here again

03/06/2026: Just back from a lovely weekend at the Carrigaline Court. The hotel was in a great location for visiting Fota Wildlife Park. The room was modern, clean, and comfortable, and the food was excellent throughout our stay. Breakfast buffet was very good, with plenty of choice. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We would definitely stay again.

06/09/2026: Had Sunday lunch here under the new owners, the Finn's, and it was delicious. 6 of us went out, had lobster, lamb, haddock and chicken and all meals were really tasty and substantial. Special mention to the new potatoes that came with my lobster. We also had desserts and special mention to the baked Alaska which was a raspberry sorbet with Tunisian orange cake in a meringue. Lovely staff and service. Will very happily be back

31/07/2026: A bit of a disappointment. The lobster was a very small portion. In looking at the photos on Google prior, we were let down. I do know new management has recently taken over. €13 for a glass of Riesling and I wasn’t even given a wine list. Initially ordered Sauvignon Blanc and was told they were out. My partner ordered two portions of the lobster as we saw the previous ones that came out. After a long wait it came out and was stone cold. We sent it back because at the price point it could at least be hot! The mussels were actually nice and flavorful, just a tad salty. We received bread as we were halfway through our mussels and the butter about 7 mins later. We visited on a Wednesday evening. For the price point, small portions and slow service I’d skip this restaurant. If these things were fixed then it would be worth it.
