15/09/2025: We hosted a hen party here on Saturday for 21 ladies, and it could not have gone better! The team were incredibly accommodating – they allowed us to set up our own decorations and food, and were so helpful with everything from start to finish. We had corkage on some bottles of prosecco for a welcome drink, and the staff went above and beyond making sure everyone’s glasses were always topped up, even when we moved up to the top deck. As we essentially ran an open bar with drink tokens for guests, it was great to see how respectful and honest the staff were – they made everything so easy for us and didn’t take advantage in any way. Another lovely touch was being able to connect our phones via Bluetooth for music, which meant we could play our own playlist on deck and set the perfect atmosphere. The whole experience was honestly the highlight of the day, and all of our guests had an absolute ball. Thank you so much to everyone at the Dublin Canal Boat Restaurant for helping us create such a memorable start to our hen celebrations!

While food and service were all right, the food lacked somewhat in flavour and the service wasn’t very warm unfortunately. And the place was more kid-friendly than we expected- great for families but not exactly what we were looking for as a date night.

11/01/2026: Restaurant 10/10. Wonderful, very nice service. The hotel could use a renovation. In places you sink through the floor. Fortunately there is a carpet that saves it. The room was terribly tiny, there was no wardrobe, but everything was clean.

08/01/2026: I recently photographed a wedding at The House Dublin and it was a fantastic experience. The venue has a great atmosphere, full of character and style, and works beautifully for weddings that feel relaxed but well looked after. From a photography point of view, there are lovely spaces throughout that flow naturally as the day unfolds. The staff were excellent on the day. Friendly, professional and very well organised without ever being intrusive. Everything ran smoothly which made a huge difference for the couple and for everyone working behind the scenes. Communication was clear and the team were more than happy to help when needed. I’d happily recommend The House Dublin to couples looking for a city wedding with personality and to fellow suppliers as well. A great venue with a strong, experienced team.

08/02/2026: Food well presented but the taste was a let down. Sent back a dish because it was bland. Steak came out was mostly fat. Food was out within 10 minutes of sitting down which is always a bad sign.

27/10/2025: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Hidden Gem in Foxrock Village From the moment you walk through the door, you’re greeted with a warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming reception exactly what every great restaurant should have. We were shown straight to our table and given plenty of time to look over the lunch/dinner menu, which had a fantastic selection of dishes, all very reasonably priced. This was my first visit to this restaurant in Foxrock Village, and I sincerely hope it won’t be my last. I went for the goat’s cheese to start, followed by the roast beef for my main course, and finished with the apple crumble for dessert all perfectly cooked and full of flavour. The meal was beautifully complemented by a lovely bottle of red wine. From the warm welcome to the attentive service and delicious food, everything was spot on. A solid 10 out of 10.
