The best restaurantsof irish in Dublin

26/03/2024: Everything was great from breakfast to dinner. The wine list was top. The staff was very present and nice. We enjoyed every day of our stay there. Many thanks to the whole team.

20/03/2024: We visited this place on a Wednesday night to celebrate a friend's birthday. While most of the staff seemed to be in a bit of a tough mood, there was one gentleman who stood out for his kindness and helpfulness. However, we found that the portion sizes of the food were quite small, and the prices seemed high in comparison. While it was a memorable evening with friends, if given the choice, I might explore other options next time

01/04/2024: There last Friday quite early and I asked the barman did he sell Bluemoon. He replied no. I then asked did he have any reccomendations or anything similar to it and he replied so abruptly and quickly NO. I very much doubt in a craft beer bar there was nothing similar as I've asked this numerous times IN THIS BAR and been given great reccomendations. Horrible customer service and no excuse so early on in the night and with me being pleasant, my friend paid and he was very polite to her. Complete lack of professionalism, leave your preferences at home when you are in work. I come here often when I get out but would not come back for this reason. He was the shorter guy with long hair #possiblesmallmansyndome ? The taller one seemed sound. Thumbs down for me though as its all about the customwr service ,from someone whos done years of customer faced and bar roles, outright uninstigated rudeness is not ok , especially with the prices people are paying these days 👎

17/02/2024: Very rude and unprofessional staff. The young lad running the place behaved in a surly and almost aggressive way, giving me an uncomfortable stare-down when I went to the bar. With so many friendly and professionally run pubs in Dublin, there’s just no reason to go here. Avoid.

22/04/2024: We visited the Old Mill on Saturday evening. The table was booked for 6.30pm and we were shown to our table. We ordered a bottle of wine, 2 pints of beer and food for four people. However, after eating our food my wife and her friend still had 1/3 of the wine remaining and therefore myself and our friends partner, asked to have 2 more pints of beer to the server, whilst the remaining wine was finished. We were told by the server no you can’t have any more drinks and we needed to hurry up and finish our drinks so the table could be used. In total we had the table for 50 minutes. The restaurant should not be selling bottles of wine, if you are not given the time to drink it. To say we felt rushed is an understatement and to be refused a drink because they want to use the table for the next customer, even though we had finished is a strange way to run a business. There should be a clear sign to acknowledge that you have a time slot for your table to customers. The restaurant appears to have a fast food style approach to dining and as soon as you have eaten your are no longer wanted. I have never felt so rushed to get out of a restaurant and this was a hugely disappointing experience of an otherwise fantastic trip to Dublin.

21/04/2024: A very busy restaurant. We tried to go here on Thursday night and noticed there was a long queue so booked to return on the Friday. I recommend booking otherwise you can be stuck in the queue for hours waiting outside. The menu was varied with loads of authentic Irish dish options to choose from. We opted to go for the salmon and prawn pasta and it was incredibly tasty. This is a restaurant that seats and serves quickly so if you are looking to have a relaxing meal this is not the restaurant. Tables are positioned very close to one another but adds to the jolly atmosphere found within.

06/03/2024: Great new menu reasonably priced €12 + interesting choices. <€7 for a pint. Very pleasant staff & 2 disability toilets here.

12/01/2024: Ages sine we had dinner here, much smaller menu. So choice limited. But we both enjoyed our meals

03/04/2024: This is a great place on the main street to get some great grub. The smash burgers are soooooooo good.

24/03/2024: No word of a lie ..Hidden Gem lads & lassies ..right across the road from Connelly Station we arrived..greeted by the lovely Al . .Coffee or lunch Sir?....What a wonderful experience in this well run establishment....We both went for the Half Chicken dish on a bed of mash & gravy and it was so good...thanks lads & lassies...set me up for the day ...We' ll be back most definitely👍

04/04/2024: Stayed at hotel which was beautiful. Wanted to have dinner there for our last night. Waitress was horrible. She made it clear she was very angered that we asked to sit next to each other, even though most tables were empty, then refused to wait on us. Went out of her way to make us as uncomfortable as possible, so sadly, we had to get up and leave. HUGE disappointment!

16/03/2024: The drinks were really good, but the service was not. We waited 20 minutes before anyone came over and finally went to the bar to order and the bartender said someone would come but we then waited again.

14/02/2024: Great atmosphere watching the rugby. I asked if they were doing food and they were not but the immediately offered suggestions of where to go.

24/03/2024: I have been coming here over the years and always happy with the carvery. Unfortunately the last couple of times I was very disappointed. Today I ordered the Bacon, mash roast potatoes and veg. Bacon was just ok, but mash, roast potatoes and veg were cold. Plus when I got my cutlery from cutlery container they were all wet.. was like after washed they were just thrown in without the bother of drying them.For €17.50 food wasn't great quality and not worth it. I've gotten better pub grub for less.
