27/12/2025: Was having a quiet pint when the rude bartender kicked a poor man with learning difficulties out because he thought he was too drunk because he was taking his time reading then menu, don’t recommend and will never be back

27/12/2025: I have a reading difficulty and was reading the menu and they kicked me out because they thought I was too drunk. I tried to have a few drinks with my friends and was kicked out. Disgraceful staff.

Tuvimos un mal presentimiento cuando entramos y vimos cuántas mesas vacías había, especialmente teniendo en cuenta que era un fin de semana de rugby. 16/08/2025: Recently wandered in on a quiet Saturday afternoon after a long walk out from city centre and before returning back to Spain. I had the best turkey and ham dinner ever....it was like having my Christmas dinner early.....perfect in every way and served by a very professional server named Emma I think. Don't know when I'll be back...but I will....please don't change in the meantime. I also love their idea of Spanish Tapas.....next time eh!

16/01/2026: I had a lovely breakfast in Kennedy's, Fairview. The pancakes were absolutely delicious. We were looked after by a lovely waitress, Maria. I saw her looking after an older lady. Maria was so kind, helpful and patient. She helped the older lady get sorted with a taxi.

06/11/2025: Cocktails were the only good part of this dining experience was rushed by staff to order and our waitress was incredibly passive aggressive the atmosphere was acceptable but they were playing pop music that no way fit the vibe I ordered the chicken burger and truffle and Parmesan fries the burger was wet and soggy at the bottom and the fries didnt have much flavour or Parmesan overall I wouldn’t come here again

14/02/2026: We visited Herbstreet on a Saturday, and overall it was a pleasant experience. The food was genuinely good, both brunch dishes we ordered were high quality and well prepared. Prices are a little on the expensive side, but the flavours and presentation do reflect the effort behind each plate. On weekends they only serve brunch, and something that stood out is that there wasn’t a dedicated tea or coffee menu to choose from, which felt a bit limiting. The place itself is lovely. It has a bright, pretty atmosphere, and the view over the canal adds a really nice touch to the experience. Service was friendly and attentive. The only downside is that they gently remind you that the table is limited to an hour and a half. They do it politely, but it does create a bit of pressure if you’re hoping to enjoy a long, relaxed brunch. If you want to linger and chat for a while, this might not be the ideal spot. Overall, a good brunch option with tasty food and great views, just better suited for a shorter visit than a long weekend catch‑up.

02/01/2026: DJ’d here for a private function. Beautiful hotel. Load-in not too easy. Bringing trolley with equipment through hotel reception isn’t ideal. Staff helpful and friendly. Event space is outdoors under a canopy, can get cold and heaters can get hot beaming down on you. Overall though, I would recommend this hotel for any event. Need a DJ for this venue? 22/12/2025: Unfortunately can't recommend this hotel. - The hotel room was probably the loudest I've ever stayed in. The bedroom looked directly out onto the hotel's bin store. We kept being woken up by hundreds of glass bottles being poured into the bins. The hotel is also right beside Searson's (famous Irish pub), so you can hear every conversation customers are having outside in the smoking area. We said this to the hotel staff on check-out and they just shrugged and said "oh, yeah, Christmas". - The hotel has zero facilities. No spa, no massages, no swimming pool, no sauna, no steam, nothing. It's really quite hard to believe this is actually a "5 star" hotel. - I emailed the front desk numerous times over a 48 hour period asking for a late checkout. The hotel took over 24 hours to respond, and never actually gave me a proper answer. At check-in, I asked again. They said they would have to check, and I should come down again in a few hours. I said, please, I've been emailing you about this for 2 days, can you just figure it out and email me? Thankfully they said they would. No email ever came. Eventually I had to call reception again on the morning of our check-out to request late checkout again. I found it ridiculous I'd need to try 3 different forms of communication over a >48 hour period just to request a late check-out. - Very uncomfortable pillows. There are only 2 options, and neither are any good. I had a terrible night's sleep (between the pillows the noise). The location is great, but I've had far nicer stays in mediocre 4 star hotels.

03/02/2026: Recently went in and did my weekly shopping and the Cashier Knocked my whole coffee over, didn’t apologise. Didn’t get me another one from the cafe inside that I bought it from and rolled her eyes. She shoved the bags towards me, which is why this happens! Both my partner and I have had multiple issues with the same Cashier every single time she’s in a bad mood. Ordered Uber eats a couple of times and the items are never in stock Just not worth the time and money

02/01/2026: Stopped in to grab lunch after a funeral and was very well looked after by the staff there. Good honest food and generous serves.

05/02/2026: Section booked for a going away party. Plenty of empty tables. Would not serve more than one drink to large group that work in a nearby hospital as we ‘weren’t rugby fans’ according to the bar staff that said this and were very rude and condensing towards a large group made up of mainly women.
