14/05/2025: Have just had the worst fish and chips ever in Kavanaghs. I've been reading reviews from a couple of years ago and there not bad. Obviously you had a different chef then. Today was absolutely horrible, fresh fish shouldn't smell of fish, the batter was soggy on both the fish and onion rings, the peas were straight out of the fridge. When I complained I was told the fish was fresh in yesterday from Kish. I was told hake is always a gray colour, I've had beautiful hake on several occasions and it was snow white in colour and odourless. The home cooked chips were an absolut joke burned edges ,hard in the middle. Cmon guys 20 euro and not willing to make a concession for complaining. Our total bill was 64 euros, lovely bar man and nice clientele, but you really need someone who can cook properly. I won't right you off totally, but I'll never be back for food. Maybe even giving us a free capuchino could have avoided this criticism.

24/04/2025: Excelente cena. El personal, las bebidas y la comida eran increíbles. Estuvimos en Escocia la semana pasada e Irlanda esta semana. Durante nuestro viaje probamos 4 lugares diferentes para el pescado con papas fritas y estos fueron los mejores. Nuestro bar tierno (Marta) nos hizo bebidas increíbles. El gerente fue genial. Desde el momento en que trató hasta el momento en que nos fuimos que era muy agradable y se aseguró de que estábamos teniendo un gran tiempo y servicio. Nos alojamos en el Castillo Clontarf y también nos encanta la ubicación, el estilo y la comodidad de las habitaciones. Ojalá pudiéramos quedarnos más tiempo.

11/05/2025: Upstairs in Scott’s a chef was shouting abusively at the front of house team, could hear each word loud and clear several times from the other side of the restaurant. Chefs get a lot of slack cut for them but that wasn’t ok. What’s the line between that and workplace bullying? was angry on behalf of the front of house team, though they just got on and didn’t make any fuss out of it.

12/04/2025: - stars if possible! I Had dinner early Saturday! Had the C&B tower burger which had no sauce on it! Been to cock and bull a few times and the food always comes out different! Each time different sauce and ingredients! Seriously gone down hill! Staff are the only good thing about this place! I asked for the main game of premier league to be shown on their tvs ! “Did not have the channel” I was told! Like seriously a pub not having sports channels embarrassing! Should have stayed at home! Won’t be back!

19/05/2025: Reservamos para ir a tomar el té de la tarde en Catherine's Café. Llegué 10 minutos antes y nos dijeron que la cafetería estaba cerrando. La chica dijo que el jefe les dijo que cerraran temprano. Si hubiéramos llegado más tarde, si nos hubieran cerrado. No recibimos ninguna llamada telefónica o correo electrónico para avisarnos que estaban cerrando temprano. Nos dijeron que podíamos tener nuestro sándwich en la cafetería y luego llevar a casa los bollos y el pastel. Sin embargo, no quedaban bollos y cada uno de nosotros recibió un pedazo de esponja de manzana en su lugar. Como habíamos reservado para el té de la tarde, nuestros bollos deberían haber sido reservados para nosotros. Como sea, nos comimos nuestros bocadillos a toda prisa mientras el personal barría el piso a nuestro alrededor y nos llevamos nuestros pasteles a casa. Además de esto, el área del inodoro no estaba limpia. El suelo estaba sucio y el zócalo sucio. Una experiencia muy decepcionante y no volveremos.

25/05/2025: The place is lovely, it's modern but has character. The food could do with some review, felt it was very greasy spoon, like the type of food you get in your work office where it's not bad but also not amazing, but with a few tweaks it could be more upmarket.

21/05/2025: I usually like to stop there and I was many times ,but this time I am giving the lowest possible review for food that was served to me fish chowder with literally two muscles inside and two tiny slices of bread .Please see yourself and let me know if anyone would pay 14 euro for this .Service is good ,the place is a nice and quiet location,but I suggest better caution with food since it's not important just visual ,Aldo portions are also small and tiny and there is no value in that meal at all . Disappointment today..Please see the attached photo of what I was served and what I got .I ordered fish chowder and one beer total cost of 21 euro and was left disappointed with the food completely .

12/05/2025: I had been to breakfast here before and blown away, but a recent visit I was not impressed, look maybe chef wasn't there yet as we visited early around 8am. Tbh the full breakfast was 1/10 as the orange juice and eggs was really delicious, but sausage was tasteless and bacon was hard like it was deep fried or heated up, tomato was also bland, and toast did not taste great -.extremely dry, never leave many reviews but mainly leaving a review to management so they can approve on Quality, as really brownes is a renowned place to eat in Sandymount. sometimes management can take their eye of the ball, and customers ain't silly and won't return, tbh I won't be until I see a 5 star⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ post re. Breakfast :) Anyhow my advice is to source quality tasty sausages and so important to have delicious tomatos, and I really do hope you reply and say the cook was late, as the rashers were like lead. My friend and I were in @ 8am Saturday 10.05.2025

02/05/2025: Great food I return here multiple times The Irish stew was fantastic, the bread that came with the stew was in my top 3 life time slices of bread! Fish was good chips were great Would recommend and return.

07/04/2025: ¡No te vayas! Estaba muy emocionada de ir cuando llegué a Dublín y tener mi primer Guinness del día (a las 10 am porque soy turista y estaba emocionada) .. solo para ser completamente golpeada y juzgada (la ironía) por el camarero (mediados de los 50 tal vez, cabello blanco / gris) que me dijo que era demasiado pronto para el alcohol. Luego, cuando le pregunté cuándo serviría alcohol, dijo "más tarde" en lugar de decirme la hora exactamente como le pregunté de nuevo "pero wheen, a qué hora" dijo "ya me había dicho 3 veces" EL PEOR SERVICIO DE LA HISTORIA . . realmente quería volver a mi país después de este encuentro . . TAN MAL que este hombre DEBE ser despedido si odia tanto su trabajo y si trata a los turistas o a la gente de esta manera.

25/03/2025: Recently I came to this pub with my 1-year-old baby for lunch. When I asked for a table, a short, elderly waiter told me that there was nothing to do with a child in the pub, that I should eat at home. A disgusting man. I don't recommend this pub to anyone.

26/04/2025: Step back in time, sit down area was closed, which is a shame. You can still sit outside at 2 little tables. Cakes sublime, bread amazing. The coffee was one of the best Americanos I've ever had, fabulous at 3.20 #Supportlocal
