The best restaurantsof irish in Dublin

19/05/2026: In town on vacation and stumbled upon this bar as I walked by this raining night. Pulled up a barstool, ordered a red 🍺 ale with fish & chips, and watched football ⚽️. Great experience do recommend. Read a review that stated they dont cook the food but outsource... if so, it was still great!

17/05/2026: I'm a tourist from Japan. I've had fish and chips in London too, but this place's was so delicious that the others seemed ridiculous in comparison. The portion size and taste are both excellent. Since I'm traveling alone, I think I'll be able to eat some for breakfast and lunch tomorrow too!

17/03/2026: We were really looking forward to enjoying some great Irish food on St. Patrick’s Day, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. We were seated quickly and placed our order for both appetizers and entrees right away. The appetizers came out promptly and were delicious, but after that, everything went downhill. We waited an extremely long time for our main meals, asking multiple times and speaking with several different staff members. Meanwhile, tables around us were seated, served, and finished their meals while we were still waiting. We were given several explanations, such as the kitchen being busy or delays due to ordering appetizers, but it became clear that our order had never been placed. After asking for help multiple times, another server finally stepped in and our food was eventually brought out. Very frustrating experience, especially on a day we were excited to celebrate.

09/05/2026: Finished up at the distillery and still had about an hour to burn before my train ride, so naturally I made the responsible decision and stopped into DV8 Bar & Venue for “hydration.” Grabbed a Jameson ginger and lime along with a bag of scampi fries for a snack. Between the miles of walking around Dublin, climbing tower stairs, accidentally rerouting my entire rail journey, and the whiskey tasting earlier, I had definitely earned it. The drink was simple but solid. Cold, crisp, easy to drink, and probably exactly what my legs needed at that point in the day. The scampi fries continue to confuse me slightly as an American. They somehow taste like seafood, vinegar, pub salt, and bad decisions all at once, yet pair perfectly with an Irish whiskey highball. Staff at DV8 were friendly and welcoming, which honestly has been one of the more consistent things I’ve noticed throughout Ireland. Whether it’s a museum, distillery, train station, or pub, most places feel less transactional and more conversational. Not a bad way to close out an unplanned “I missed my train stop and accidentally spent the day exploring Dublin” adventure.

01/06/2026: Cozy, quaint, and simply a Dublin original. Huge selection of beers and drinks, delicious breakfast, and hearty pub specialties. The service is always friendly and quick. Just what you want. Go there and feel at home. Take some time to soak up the atmosphere.

31/03/2026: Oh I'm going to really REALLY miss this place when I'll leave Dublin in a few days. Prices are indeed quite high but quality is awesome; I have tested their sandwiches, pastries, individual serves, etc. and never was disappointed. Staff is really nice too. I wish this place existed in my home country!

04/05/2026: Bit of a disaster. Floor staff were nice but there was no food coming out of the kitchen. Everyone in the restaurant was annoyed waiting for the food. The cocktails were badly prepared. No sign of a manager, just teenagers trying to run the place. When food finally arrived it was mediocre and small portions. We were still hungry when we left so got pizza at home. Won’t be back.

04/05/2026: The team 5 stars, the boat 5 stars, the service 5 stars - food very tasty but far too little for grown men 3 stars, the trip 1 star - a slow journey of about 1 km there and back again without turning around...and that in 2 hours...for half the price maybe OK but not for 60 euros per person.

13/05/2026: Even when correctly booked two months in advance, the accommodation cancelled my reservation 12 days before the stay for the reason "fully booked" when all the other accommodations in the area are already booked out. I do not consider this to be a fair procedure towards customers and thus recommend to avoid this accommodation as your booking can be obviously cancelled any time and you cannot count on it.

02/06/2026: Make a reservation for their private area on the upper floors. Great drinks and atmosphere. Would highly recommend.

01/06/2026: I can’t believe I just recently found out about this place! It’s so amazing I definitely will go again, their service, the atmosphere and the vibes are so good and I can’t even describe how amazingly good the cocktails are and with different varieties, also they have non-alcoholic options too!

10/06/2026: Everything is fine here except for the noise. The music playing downstairs is crystal clear, and cars are constantly passing by on the main road next door – the traffic noise is absolutely terrifying. I asked to change rooms but they refused… speechless.
