The best restaurantsof irish in Dublin

03/11/2024: Hot chocolate was basically a cup full of hot milk… was awful. We would have complained in person but the horse box was closed after our order. We had to check that the server even put chocolate in it - it was that bad. If people are paying 3.95 for hot chocolate add sufficient spoons of powder in or invest in some better quality hot chocolate. Surroundings are lovely though!

02/11/2024: Lovely staff, trad band jamming quietly outside. Nice and chill when it's not busy. In a beautiful setting.

17/11/2024: Unfortunately it's not the best chipper in dublin anymore, it's gone downhill a bit, fish was small and not much chips for the price unfortunately but food is nice

14/11/2024: Food was super fast didn’t even finish ordering and food was already done but was fresh no complaints just way ti many chips 😂

18/10/2024: Lovely café, the coffee was amazing, cheese toastie and soup very good and at a reasonable price. Ample parking space.

17/10/2024: Bought 2 full Irish breakfasts here both were barely edible and overpriced undercooked sausages... bakery seems better but still expensive girl behind counter was sick while serving behind bakery.

20/10/2024: Stayed here for an event. This is a really well run family hotel, will definitely return soon the food was superb and my wife who is gluten free was looked after here like no other hotel we have been to. The gluten free breakfast was super. Dinner and dessert options that are gluten free were super & delicious also. All sauces and gravy is gluten free and are really nice for everyone. Late in the evening at the event a platter of gluten free food that arrived was also really impressive. All the food I had every time (not gluten free) was tops too. See my pic, unfortunately it was the only one we took but this was some of my wifes gluten free breakfast that she could not fault! The bar was really nice also. Room was really clean, fresh and the bed was very comfy. Ample parking and not wedged in which is something i like especially when you have a good car!

17/11/2024: The food was very tasty, indeed! Loved the Chowder and the Crab and Prawn cakes, among other things. Gaspar was friendly, and extremely attentive. Lively atmosphere without being overwhelmingly loud. A great experience overall.

02/11/2024: Spend a great few hours here with family and friends to celebrate my Nieces birthday. Wonderful cocktails and lovely staff of which when found out it was Millie’s birthday presented her with a dessert and sang for her. We email reserved the table as there was 7 of us to ensure we could get in. One of our party is having a baby and the cocktail they prepared for her was in every way the exact same as the alcoholic versions. They really looked after us. We chose this place as I have previously stopped at the hotel adjoining.

30/05/2024: Went to a Celtic night at the Boardwalk and had an amazing evening, especially thanks to the lovely bartender named Louise. She made incredible cocktails - and mocktails, while being very kind and helpful. Very nice place to try it you stay in Dublin for a couple of nights.

05/05/2024: We’ve been staying here on and off for about 20 years and I’m afraid on our last few stays, the experience hasn’t been as good as it used to be. It’s still an impressive, huge bar but it used to have fairy lights everywhere making it more magical. Some of the staff both at reception and in the bar seem a bit fed up but not all of them. The rooms haven’t changed at all so although comfortable, they really could do with being updated. Impressive reception hall but as you come in the main door there’s a couple of chairs and a very scabby table. Just seems tired and neglected. Our room overlooked a side alley which wasn’t pleasant but that’s no fault of the hotel. Also no fault of the hotel is that there’s quite a few hostels all round it. On a plus side, the breakfasts are still good with something to suit everyone and we were pleased with our fish and chips at dinner one night. Vending machines in the lobbies which is handy. Toilets always clean. No Celtic nights for the three nights we were there but had a good Irish music night. It’s still nice to come back to it at the end of the day for a few drinks rather than roaming about the city at night. We will be back but it’s sad to see changes and would be nice to see some money being spent on it.

30/10/2024: Chocolate twist was stale and it was 9;30 in the morning so definitely not fresh baked. And hot chocolate was way too sweet, tasted like someone put 10 spoons of sugar in it. :(

11/11/2024: Dunohys was brilliant. The quality of drink was superb the service was excellent and very friendly. The atmosphere was cosy and welcoming. I would have given 5 stars only the heat in the place made us leave after 1 drink. Maybe we were sitting too close to the heaters but with the warm weather and the amount of people in the place I wonder was there any need to have the heating on.

29/10/2024: Van te voren hebben wij gereserveerd (bevestiging hiervan ontvangen). Komen we aan, is het restaurant gesloten. Erg slecht dat je dan wel kan reserveren. Over de kwaliteit van het eten kunnen wij verder niks zeggen. Erg vervelend.

26/10/2024: Had a brilliant work do,everything organised and on time.Food was beautiful and plenty of variety, thanks to Kavish and the team.

03/11/2024: Stayed for 2 nights with 2 rooms for 4 of us. Easy to find,park and check in. Rooms a little small but very clean and all well equipped. Bar food exceptional as we're the staff,especially the lady with the red hair in the bar.

27/10/2024: This is a fantastic place to stay. It has really cozy rooms and it's old and historic. It has a great selection of food and drinks. The people are very nice. The staff are extremely helpful and willing to go the extra distance for you, it has excellent food and the portions are very large. You get breakfast in the morning.If you choose to purchase that with your room. If you need taxis or lyft, they come right to the hotel and it's right next to a dual carriage, lucan village is about ten minute walk where you can catch buses straight into dublin city itself. 04/11/2024: Dined here for Sunday lunch food was delicious and April and Wes serving us couldn't do enough for us. Very friendly and accommodating. Will definitely be back thank you for the great service and good food
