02/02/2025: The lunch courses are delicious, filling, and reasonably priced.
The appetizer risotto was delicious with lots of shrimp.
The main beef is tender and delicious.
The accompanying fries are also very delicious.
Coffee was also delicious.
The appetizers and main dishes were so filling that I couldn't even finish the dessert.
25/12/2024: Lovely little restaurant with great food (and menu), service and ambiance. Glad I found it and I will definitely return.

27/01/2025: Fancy place to celebrate event. Nice ambiance. Spacious sitting. Dishes were served with great presentation. We tried most of the dishes Onion Soup, Scallops, Sole fish of the day, Apple Blackberry Crumble, Creme Brule. My fav was Creme Brule. The service by our server Joseph was top notch. The only down sides was that place was bit pricy for how it tasted. For that price I was expecting some great flavours in my mouth like I have experience at other places. Also the food portion was very small. 74 euros for a sole fish sharing for two and it tasted okayish and also very small quantity.

Probamos la mayoría de los platos de sopa de cebolla, vieiras, lenguado de pescado del día, Apple Blackberry Crumble, Creme Brule. Mi favorito era Creme Brule. El servicio de nuestro servidor Joseph fue de primera categoría. La única desventaja era que ese lugar era un poco caro para cómo sabía. Por ese precio esperaba algunos sabores geniales en mi boca como tengo experiencia en otros lugares. También la porción de comida era muy pequeña. 74 euros por un pescado en lenguado para dos y sabía bien y también muy poca cantidad.

02/02/2025: Had a pint of Guinness and a seafood chowder at three places yesterday. Denvir's in Downpatrick, Fitzpatrick’s just outside Carlingford and the Gravediggers. Kavanagh's was the best for both. The Guinness is absolutely one of the best in Ireland and the seafood chowder is amazing. Service was efficient and friendly, Ann was wonderful. Totally recommend anyone contemplating a visit to do it.

14/02/2025: A hidden gem. Fantastic experience. The staff were brilliant- so friendly and attentive. We had the 3 course early menu option and for €52 it was fantastic value. The food was full of flavours and the staff informed me the chefs could adapt most of the menu to be gluten free as I am coeliac. They gave me gf bread- and my own off the menu dessert. 10/10 experience.
09/02/2025: Horrible place, at least for internationals. Rude ppl, bad service, waited 30min for a simple egg benedict, latte was really below average, run away!

26/01/2025: A really enjoyable lunchtime spent in between the Book of Kells and Guinness experiences. We booked for 1pm, got there late, but the table was still being held. Both of us ordered the beef Guinness stew which, with two drinks, came to Euro 50. The service was great and we were out in good time to make our next destination. Would happily recommend

The food was delicious. The fish and chips are a must have.
I am not normally a fish connoisseur but considering it now. The chips (fries) were perfect. We'll have to come again!

01/02/2025: I was fortunate enough to be able to get a spot at the bar on a busy afternoon since the restaurant is such a popular spot for locals (and visitors).
The food was so delicious. The eggs Benedict Royale were fantastic. The English muffin was so buttery and soft. The egg done to perfection. The staff was attentive.
The prices were wonderful for the level of service and exceptional food.

12/02/2025: The only meal we had without prior research as it was raining and we ran in for shelter and ended up ordering.
I was excited to see GF fish and chips on the menu, which was ok. Though the tiny pots of mushy peas and tartar sauce weren't worth having.
My husband had the Guinness beef pie which he said tasted like beef in bisto gravy.
It wasn't terrible, but we felt we'd wasted a meal in such a short trip on this place.
