21/12/2025: Daniel’s where to begin, one of the best culinary experiences to be had in Dublin and probably on the island of Ireland. Myself a food lover and regular restaurant dweller. I would call this place rare, As, in no matter what you order off the menu here, it will be excellent. Plenty on the menu to pick from far from bare bones here. The place itself very understated but has a cool old school vibe clean and well kept but is very quirky under closer examination. Wine lovers this is the place for you his pairing of wine to foods is nothing short of exceptional. You won’t find a better wine menu in Dublin. Overall Danial is a master craftsman in both food and wine and no mystery here it immediately becomes apparent from the get go, simple starters like the broth hits the tongue and it’s complex and superior. Nothing is an after thought here every ingredient and element have been very well thought out here years in the making. If I could give 100 stars I would. We ll be back and on a regular basis.

09/12/2025: Classic Irish pub experience with live music, good beer, and delicious food! The special Christmas turkey plate was AMAZING and the curry was slightly sweet with the right amount of spice. We were sat at the back bar, by the beer garden, right away and enjoyed looking at the bars different knick knacks. We couldn’t see the musicians but that’s alright because you can hear them clearly throughout the bar! It started to get crowded around 7pm but it wasn’t too bad because there’s plenty of room to move around and the beer garden offers a silent retreat, with heating. Definitely worth a visit!

09/12/2025: Excellent! For me, the best pub in Dublin. The atmosphere is great. The bartenders are friendly, the food is delicious, especially the Irish stew. The music is fantastic, and they bring in some great people. We spent three nights in Dublin, and this was the best for us. We went to other pubs in the city center, but there's no comparison; this place is authentic. Sometimes you have to wait a bit for a table, but it's worth it.

06/11/2025: Visiting from NJ. Friends that live in Ireland took us here. What a cool place. Its what I always envisioned an Irish Pub to be like. Great pint of Guinness. Bartender was very friendly and welcoming. Definitely a place to stop in for a pint and good fun conversation

04/11/2025: Off the beaten path but very much a wonderful pub. Excellent coddle and one of the best Guinness pours near Dublin. Hopefully this stays as a hidden gem and doesn't become ridden with tourists like The Cobblestone has become over the past few years. Very much looking forward to our next visit at this lovely pub.

23/12/2025: We recently had reserved an area in Doheny and Nesbits for the afters of our Dublin registry office wedding during December. From booking and reserving the area with Aoibhinn she was very accommodating and communication was brilliant. Aoibhinn made the booking so seamless for us. On the day of our event we had Helen looking after us and she could not do enough for us. She’s amazing! The food, the atmosphere and the service was all fantastic.

17/11/2025: Great food. We ate here last year before the rugby. This year we were prepared and booked a table before we went to Aviva stadium for the rugby. Wagyu burger was mouthwatering. Great service, excellent place. We might stay next year?

05/12/2025: The smell alone should qualify as a health hazard... I don’t know what’s happened to Grogans, but the place absolutely reeks. The second you walk in, you’re hit with a wall of stale sweat, old beer, and something that can only be described as wet dog meets forgotten mop bucket. It’s like they’ve made “smell of neglect” part of the décor. The floors are sticky, the tables feel like they haven’t been properly cleaned since the Celtic Tiger, and the whole place gives off the vibe of a pub that gave up decades ago. Even the pints taste like they’ve absorbed the atmosphere, which is not a compliment. There are plenty of great pubs in Dublin. This is not one of them. Unless you enjoy smelling like a defeated brewery for the rest of the day, avoid.

01/12/2025: Maybe the most amazing place in all of Ireland but certainly Dalkey Village! Had surf and turf (x2), beet salad, arancini, and desserts. Nothing was less than excellent. A complicated service held together nicely by the hostess. Even if this place didn’t have great food, the service and atmosphere would carry the day. Reminded me of my favorite neighborhood places in New Orleans. Thanks for the lovely food and great service.

11/10/2025: The restaurant was empty, late afternoon and we were given a table at the front of the restaurant by a window, only to be told that someone coming in later wanted that table and would we mind moving. No problem, but we were then seated outside the toilet and tbh we were both hungry and just wanted a nice simple light dinner. My partner order risotto and I order their hamburger and fries. Neither of us could finish our food. The risotto was as bland as you can imagine, and I assume it was precooked as it was served up in a matter of ten or 15 minutes. Some dried onion sprinkled on top. It was the worst risotto we have ever tasted. My burger was dry, tasteless and definitely not fresh off the grill, and the frozen fries were also bland and unappetising. The bruschetta was laughable- slices of toast with some halved cherry tomatoes on top with a splash of oil. Service was so-so, but honestly they’d need to try much harder and get back to basics of good simple food to win my vote. As for Italian, there was little evidence of that.

21/12/2025: Excellent food, lovely staff and generous portions. The prawn risotto was a highlight. Perfect restaurant for an occasion.

07/12/2025: Great food and super nice staff! I booked for my graduation dinner for 4 people about 3 weeks before. My sister flew in as a surprise so my boyfriend called them to modify the booking a bit after I booked but asked them not to send me an email about the modification. They were very helpful and eager to join in on the surprise.

11/12/2025: Had such a lovely time at Chimac Dublin. The food is amazing, but what truly makes it special is the staff — genuinely warm, attentive, and so friendly. They make the whole experience feel personal. Can’t wait to go back!
