03/05/2025: I had the wonderful homemade soup and the brown bread which was also homemade and tasty. Chips were made fresh and I’m sure the ketchup was too. My husband had the spicy chicken wrap and my Son had the breakfast burrito which they really enjoyed also. Many thanks for a really tasty lunch
15/04/2025: We went in to get some food, when we arrived in there was one table free which a waitress was cleaning, as I am six months pregnant I went to sit down while my partner ordered, the waitress cleaning the table was friendly and greeted me with small talk. However, the person serving at the counter shouted across the entire full cafe that I could not sit down, the table was for someone else- There was no reserved sign, the waitress cleaning never said anything to me when I sat down, all she had asked was had I ordered which I told her my partner was doing. We have been here before and I have, as I did that day sat down as my partner ordered our food, however on this occasion we left absolutely mortified as a result of the hostility and attitude of the server.

07/06/2024: Dropped in here for some Sunday dinner lovely little pub with a restaurant staff are fantastic felt very welcomed! Food was fantastic definitely return visit on the cards 👍🏼
18/05/2024: I was at the hangedmans restraunt today with my family. As I was sitting down having our dinner I over heard a horrendous conversation with the owner of the restraunt. The owner was shouting at a woman from what I understood was not her fault at all as someone with her had canceled a booking, the owner then went on to tell the woman to f***off and to leave. Another man then came up to tell the owner that this wasn’t right or talk to a woman like that, and his response to the man was f*** off aswell, totally inexcusable behaviour and should not shout and use vulgar language to a woman. I said it to him when paying for our bill that I would be leaving this review as I was disgusted with his behaviour. Do not come here unless you want to be shouted at or abused for no reason. The owner is a horrid man

27/04/2025: On Easter Monday, as the midlands were predicted to have sunshine, we decided to have lunch in Fureys before a stroll along the canal. We normally drop in on our way west to visit family for a quick bite.. the latest reviews were appalling, and no owner feedback... so we booked a table and when we arrived gently made this point.
We had an excellent large chowder, shared as a starter; and then a chicken and beef burger, diy assembly, no complaints.
So in my view, the negative reviews are unjust, but as we told the staff, the management's lack of response is more damaging than the poor reviews.
PS - if you walk on the west towpath, there is no crossing at the aqueducts as the steps down to the road are closed off
25/04/2025: On a recent trip to Fureys, where we had ate the previous weekend in a group of 25. We were greeted with a rude waitress which seemed to be in charge. She was no way pleasant. We were told there was no tables that we could sit at the bar. As a couple going for a meal we didn’t want to sit at the bar. In the bar itself there was 2 empty tables without reserved signs and we were told we weren’t allowed sit on these tables. When we were leaving we witnessed 5 other empty tables also without reserved signs on them.
Very disappointed with the level of service.

15/04/2025: Went for a funeral and the staff were absolutely horrible to my family, constantly talking about us at the bar and giving dirty looks. Would not recommend to anyone. Tea and coffee was cold and way too expensive
28/02/2025: We come to this restaurant regularly enough as it is one of our locals. Staff are always great & the food has never disappointed.
We’ve brought a few family & friends with us also and they all rave about it every time.

14/03/2025: Habíamos recibido algunos vales y decidimos ir hoy. No teníamos reserva y nos dimos cuenta de que era un error, por suerte conseguimos una mesa. Mi marido desayunó irlandés y yo el sándwich de jamón abierto. Ambos eran hermosos. El servicio fue atento y amable a pesar de lo ocupados que estaban.
La gente se queja de que es caro pero yo no estoy de acuerdo. Este lugar está en un entorno precioso y el salón de té en sí es precioso y un poco viejo mundo.
Nuestra primera vez allí y sin duda volveremos

Boss Byrne's Bar & Restaurant
20/05/2025: Nice spot, relaxed atmosphere and good service. Enjoyed dinner here recently, was delicious. Tasty chicken wings to start and a well cooked fish main. Wine is "on tap" so they are docked a mark for that. When the "bottle" arrived it wasn't quite cold enough. Overall, a nice spot for a few drinks and food though. Will return.

Cocktails- are only ok in the restaurant - didn’t try the cocktails in the bar.
Food wise - starters- chowder was very watery, soup was only ok. The accompanying bread was dry.
Mains - burger was good, pork from specials menu was presented well and was meant to be slow cooked but was absolutely dry.
And cutlery - it’s the worst/cheapest cutlery
Overall - great setting - everything else disappointing.

19/02/2025: Very nice staff and not so long waiting times for meals. The food is really delicious, is definitely worth a visit when you want good and delicious food. The chicken curry tasted a bit boring for Indian food, but the chicken wings in BBQ were fantastic. 🤭😍 Thanks to the whole team 🍽👨🏾🍳. Ich wurde des öfteren leider vergessen und wartete mal halbe Stunde.
12/12/2024: waitress was very rude and abrupt, atmosphere was lovely - but service was just awful, waitress was rude, abrupt - we were given desert menu and she came back about 30 seconds later to get our order, I apologised and said we hadn’t looked or decided yet and she placed both hands on the table and stood waiting for me to make up my mind! I was humiliated - definitely giving me the message to hurry and we weren’t getting time - so I’m afraid you need to sharpen your customer service and be pleasant - very gruff service - alot of leaning across you to collect plates and put out cutlery - I had to sit back and push my chair back to stop being knocked - so always loved going to the Keadeen and have had great times there but won’t be back for a long time - there are more welcoming restaurants in Kildare - I know this waitress has been there a long time - and I felt like she was being aggressive and personally rude to me!

19/04/2025: Staff were lovely, very friendly and efficient. Alot of dishes on the menu, but we got the toasties and chips. Toasties were decent, chips were nice and hot.
I also got a latte, and the glass had visible coffee stains dried into it. That didn't come off when I rubbed it to check.
Also, the womens bathrooms have cameras in them over the mirrors pointing at the stalls, which was a bit disturbing. The toilets looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a long time, visible build-up of dirt on and around the toilet seat, the smells was also disgusting in the toilets. Only one hand dispenser had soap in it, there was toilet paper just left lying around.
08/04/2025: Every now and then you find a place that ticks all the boxes and the Hideout Kilcullen was just that. Made a reservation for two for an anniversary dinner and arrived early, no problem, showen to a nice table by Leigh who was so polite and helpful. We ordered two different dinners and didn't have long to wait, the food was beautifully presented and plenty of it, very tasty. Another member of staff Demi was so bubbley and chatted to us making us feel welcome which added to a wonderful evening. I will definitely return, big thanks to the staff.

24/05/2025: Plenty of friendly staff in a busy eatery. Hot food ought to be on a hot plate, my chips were cold and my hamburger overdone and the dearest price I have ever paid for a burger in Europe. Onions rings lovely. But overall impression, not interested, just dish it out. Had I been on my own I would have walked out.
07/05/2025: A Friend and I went there for lunch. I order the chicken burger. It came with fries. To say I was disappointed with the burger is an understatement. The burger was the bap, a leaf of lettuce and a piece of chicken. I have been to different establishments and order a chicken burger which were ten times better for the same price as I paid in this pub. Before anyone asks the other establishments were pubs as well. I do not recommend going there for food and if you do, do not get the any burgers.
