19/05/2025: The restaurant is part of the Lake Hotel and isn't signposted separately. The view from the terrace is incredible.

05/04/2025: Great food, great view of the lake and exceptional service by Stanko. Would recommend the duck, white chocolate caramel and mandarin spheres. Nice bar for drinks after dinner too. Thank you.

22/03/2025: Me and my girlfriend just came in a little after 2pm after visiting Torc waterfall and Muckross Abbey hoping to get some lunch while waiting on the Red Bus an hour later. We waited at the Monks Lounge reception area to wait for a table to be told it's residents only. No sorry, apologies or recommendations for anywhere else for some lunch. From looking online, this doesn't seem to be the case at all - it allows me to book a table on the website. There were plenty of seats available inside and outside to cater to 2 guests. Considering this is directly across from Muckross Abbey and there are tourists here regularly I'm shocked. If this is how they treat people, I'd rather spend my money and dine elsewhere.

22/03/2025: Personal grosero, no serviría "no residentes" Fuimos a caminar - en el almuerzo después de visitar Torc Waterfall y Muckross House y Abbey. Nos informó que es resdients solo a pesar de ofrecer reservas en línea para no residentes. En ese momento había muchas mesas dentro y fuera disponibles no hay absolutamente ninguna necesidad de rechazar el servicio. Gasta tu dinero en otra parte.

03/06/2025: We ordered four soups two chicken sweet corn (which were clearly marked as chicken) and two hot and sour soups. Since there was no mention of any meat in the hot and sour soup, we assumed it was vegetarian. But when we opened them, we were shocked to find unknown meat pieces. We called the restaurant and a lady in charge picked up after which she told us the soup had pork and beef. As Indians, this was extremely upsetting, since eating beef is against our religion. We politely requested if they could replace the soups with either vegetarian or chicken ones. Instead of helping, the lady was rude, helpess, and blamed us for the situation. There was no apology from the resturant side and no responsibility taken. We were the ones who apologised to her for ordering from this restaurant. We also requested her if we can have a word with the owner or the manager but she straight away refused. This experience was not just disappointing but it was disrespectful. We will never order from here again.

29/12/2024: Managed to get served without the barman actually speaking to me... A nice pint but the bar staff need to do more than shrug and and grunt at the customer, very rude

07/04/2025: Asked for large meal got a medium, asked for burger sauce on my burger and got ketchup and she was laughing into my face about it. When I said I wanted a large meal because I asked for that she then said I only paid for medium and that’s because SHE got that wrong so I said I’d pay for large and then she somehow switched topic and said “you said you didn’t want a drink” I said “what are you on about I asked for a Fanta” she then lied again saying I didn’t so I left with a medium meal and the wrong food cause I was not dealing with another immigrant who can’t even speak English

28/10/2024: I thought the price of the food was a little bit high, but I was expecting the food to be very good..... it was not very good for the price we paid. The service was not good. They brought out a tray, a cappuccino, and a BLT. The cappuccino wasn't on a saucer, no spoons or stirrers provided, no sugar, and no milk. When she dropped them onto the table, the cappuccino spilt and made a mess. She forgot my Americano and had to go back for it. Again, she came back without saucer, spoons, milk, or sugar. I didn't like how it was carried out without a tray, and she was just holding it by the handle. The price we paid didn't reflect the service we got (or lack thereof).

17/09/2024: Stopped here for lunch yesterday the food was nice. The service wasn't great. We ordered two wraps and while they were being made we asked the lady that served us if we could take our seat outside and she told us there's 15 seconds left in the toaster if we can wait for our wraps to take them out ourselves. I found this extremely odd, the cafe was empty and there were 2 tables outside with just coffees, while 4 staff members were behind the counter, one looking at her phone as I waited for my food.. bizarre!..

15/04/2025: Food was considerably bad this time. It used to be good.. The chicken family box was small and the chicken was not well fried..

05/04/2025: Yummy food. Some very different options. Seated area. Numbers on your receipt are 5 long, could be an easier rotated number. Busy but efficient. Clean and good food.

18/05/2025: Travelling tourist here from America , I usually don't resort to writing a review at all weather its good or bad but I felt this time its a must. We've been going to this chipper with my wife at least once a year if not more , and each year this takeaway blesses us with their food but this time when we went to mike's it was a little different. Chaos is the best way to describe it. Not only the service treated us like a herd of animals but the food has gone down drastically in quality but the prices have gone UP!?!?!?! Avoid until something serious gets changed to it .

22/02/2025: Didnt deliver as committed before closing time and used excuse of couldnt dial code for NI mobile. Declined to refund or answer phone at 12 even though order was expected at 1130.

05/05/2025: This post is about sustainability only! 🥰 Thank you, thank you, thank you for providing real, reusable mugs, glassware, and silverware to your customers. By 2050, there will be more plastic in the ocean, then fish. And over 95% of the plastic that we create and consume, does not actually get recycled, but rather ends up in landfills, incinerators, and our oceans. It means a lot to me, as a visitor to the stunning Killarney national park, to not contribute to the greater plastic pollution crisis during my weekend visit. I believe that customers deserve the choice to do better by their surrounding and global ecosystems, and the fact that you made it so easy and accessible is simply wonderful. I hope that more of the cafés in the area take note. Plastics don’t belong in restaurants, and certainly not ones by the national park. Kudos for your work to treat this planet and it’s people better. Thank you again!

22/04/2025: Very expensive for what it is. Cafe grub. To add chips to a toasted sandwich was another €4.20! Waitress was far from friendly, I tried ordering a vol au vent and they were out, I tried ordering an egg salad, they were out. I then settled for a toastie and soups as I found the menu quite overwhelming with the way it was laid out. The soup was hot, that’s all I’ll say and the toastie was a toastie. My daughter had another toastie and chips. With a tea and a can of 7-up, definitely not worth the €32 I spent. Won’t be back.

04/04/2025: Food was great. Chips were a bit dry as they were oven baked. Service was excellent and shop was clean with nice outdoor covered seating. Good prices

24/05/2025: Items were missing from the order. Happens frequently…one of the worst branch I have visited. Staff and branch managers not helpful at all. Strongly recommend checking your order before leaving.

15/05/2025: We get takeaway from here regularly (for the last 2 years) and I often leave wondering why. It’s one of the few options when you’re in a hurry and by the time you realise they’ve messed up your order you’re halfway up the road and it’s too late. They have about a 50% success rate getting our order right. Usually an item is missing or we get the wrong item. Today, the double cheeseburger I ordered wasn’t dressed. Most of the time, the burgers are lukewarm (today was bo exception). Two weeks back the burgers weren’t even warm and had to go in the bin. The fries tend to be hot a little more often, but they’re also cold and soggy more often than they should be, It’s fast food. Not eocket science. But for whatever reason, this McDonalds just can’t get their act together,
