The best restaurantsof irish in Killarney

04/04/2024: We were given this restaurant by a local vendor and made reservations at 8:30PM, actually about 2 hours later than we normally eat dinner. The food was fantastic, though the older lady who was our server was not friendly at all. I don’t know if she doesn’t like Americans of what her problem was? We are super friendly people and rather taken back on being treated the way we were. She made us wait an eternity for our check too, which was annoying. My wife asked about the tip and she said she has to put in before she runs the card, so my wife ended up tipping her 20%+ tip via cash. I hope she changes her tune and gives people from America better service and more friendly in the future.

30/03/2024: Had a great meal here. Did a walk-in on a busy Thursday night and they were able to accommodate us. Service was fast and friendly. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I had the Sheppard’s pie - very good.

04/03/2024: A lovely, comfortable place for a coffee in Killarney. It's open early (from 7am) and the staff are very welcoming and friendly. Nice selection of gorgeous Lir chocolate available to buy as well.

26/03/2024: I entered because of outside , the view of the bottles make you want to enter , well I did it and I dont regret it at all , the staff , specially Emilia is verry kind, the choices are Incredible. Its a must to do in this city ! Totally love it !

28/03/2024: In contrast to many others, I leave a low rating. Waited a long time to order despite few visitors. The bartender (young man) seemed more interested in flirting with girls than taking our order. Also arrogant when I asked to order, so we moved on to the next pub (and got good service there!).

27/03/2024: This place was wonderful. There are quirks associated with it being an older hotel, but they shouldn't bother anyone who can appreciate its central location. Simple example: you leave your room key with the front desk rather than have a swipe card. Security-wise, this is head-and-shoulders over just anyone potentially accessing your room. You can easily retrieve your key any time of day or night. The rooms were spacious, the linens immaculate, and the staff always available and very friendly. We had just left a modern hotel in Dublin with miserable HVAC and sealed windows, so the ability to open a window and get fresh air was literally refreshing. Yes, Killarney will start being noisy at 7:30AM as cleaning crews come through, but you hear nothing. Each time we needed anything at all, it was readily available.

26/03/2024: Lovely hotel Veronica was very nice on reception Laura who served us breakfast and dinner and the star of the show i think his name was tadhg We were there for our wedding anniversary so please god will go again next year great choice for breakfast

03/04/2024: The best place that I ate in Ireland (so far). First of all, you may want to book a reservation, I didn't and had to wait 15 minutes in the bar I order to sit. In the bar the bartender was helpful and suggested to me a couple of local beers to match with my food (also I couldn't help noticing the adroit way he poured the drinks). The rest of the stuff wasn't as nice as he was. The place looks really awesome, similar to an American burger house style/booth full with interesting frames and decoratives, I could keep my eyes from the walls. The food came early and it was really really good. (there is a whole vegan section on the menu with a couple of options from starters to burgers and main courses). I ordered the porterhouse plant based burger with black beans and the soup of the day (which was cauliflower soup) both were super tasty and the portions were more than satisfactioning (although the country potatoes sides to the burger was extra spicy, not the best to me). Prices were fine and I really liked the experience. I strongly recommend this place.

28/03/2024: Quinlan has several venues and shops. This is the cheapest, but this is not noticeable either in the quality of the food, it is excellent!, or in the service, because the next day we were at the Mad Monk and there was the same waiter and cook.

21/03/2024: Very small portions, 4 small pieces of fish in the Spicy Fish box, lots of red pepper & a small portion of chips. Price does not reflect portion sizes! Very disappointing cod & chips also very small. Should have gone to the local Fish & Chip shop.

03/04/2024: The manager and waitress were very helpful! The chicken parmigiana was very good as well as the vegetable soup with brown bread! Good place to go, we recommend!

30/03/2024: The Killarney Avenue Hotel was simply great. Hands down, Elena was the absolute best! She always had a smile, she let us check in early, and constantly made sure we had a satisfying stay. The hotel is in a great location. Close enough to walk everywhere - the train station, downtown, and Killarney National Park. We would definitely stay here again!

19/02/2024: We had high expectations of this hotel which has an excellent location in Killarney..so much so that we paid to upgrade our room and enhance our stay. What a mistake that was! You would think an upgrade would give you a much better room ..well all we got was a view of the air conditioning system right outside our bedroom window and it was covered in astro turf. The astro turf did not dull down the noise and to add insult to injury another guest decided to have a full on telephone business meeting on his phone at 1 am. The soundproofing was non existent. When we told them about it the next morning they asked why we hadn't complained at the time. The stay was a gift from my husband and the last thing you want to do is start a fuss the minute you arrive. By the same token why was an upgraded room in such a location. The receptionist said someone would be in touch about it. Needless to say we are still waiting! Not what you would expect from the much hyped Ring of Donaghue

14/03/2024: Tatler Jack's is centrally located in Killarney, and is a grand spot for watching a bit of sport, or maybe catching a bit of live music.

18/03/2024: The best bar in Killarney, the atmosphere is super, a favorite place to relax, you can eat, drink, watch football and just have a good time.

09/11/2023: It claims to be fine dining, but that wasn't really it for me. The food was still good, but everyone was happy.

02/11/2023: Avoid at all costs. I went here on Mon 30th October with three friends of mine. It's one of the worst meals we have had as a group and we have being going out for dinner in Killarney on a regular basis for years. I had soup for starter and the slice of white bread with it was half stale and the butter was slightly sour. At this stage I was nervous about my main course Salmon dish. I was right to be concerned, the Salmon was totally overlooked and dry, the brocolli was over cooked and from my experience as a chef it was re heated and was also gone off, sour to the taste. The roast potatoes were tasteless and boring. My friends food was in a similar par, infact, we called a halt to the meal after the mains . The thought of getting more food of this poor quality didn't appeal to any of us. The person who cooked this food is no chef in my honest opinion and to add insult to injury the prices are away above what they should be for this this level of cuisine. Standards of food have dropped dramatically in Ireland for the last couple of years, more people should vote with their feet and avoid these establishments. We will never return to this establishment again.

02/04/2024: Fantastic food, reasonably priced and very accommodating for small children. Make a point to visit here every time we’re in Killarney and we absolutely love it!
