04/07/2025: Make an effort to get there.. it will be worth it. Great atmosphere; welcoming and relaxed. Great music. Great pint. Delicious food. There’s a coffee hatch in the car park if you only have time for a drive by. And a sauna and plunge pool ‘round the back.. sure why wouldn’t there be?! Bring your togs, and an appetite and have a gorgeous day out and stay for dinner!

03/06/2025: Great casual restaurant with good food. The waitress was attentive and quite funny. There was a fundraiser going on the night we were there so it was very busy, but our service was great.

13/07/2025: I walked in and ordered two Shish Chicken and lamb to take away. Whilst waiting for my food, I witnessed the owner offer complimentary ice cream to those that were seated(was a hot day) and he gave me a complimentary tub of Hummus also! The food was amazing and I thought it quite a generous offer.

10/07/2025: While this venue excels at hosting parties, their tearoom experience is quite disappointing. During a recent lunch visit with my mother, we encountered damp seating at two-person tables, leading us to sit at a four-person table. Despite the tearoom being mostly empty, we were promptly told to move. However, two elderly ladies who subsequently sat at a four-person table were not asked to relocate. The food itself was distinctly average. The most concerning issue occurred when my mother used the women's restroom and witnessed an elderly man urinating with the door open. When she reported this alarming incident to two blonde servers, they were dismissive and cold, seemingly disbelieving her account.

07/07/2025: Had lunch here at Thatch Kitchen and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The place is cozy with plenty of parking available next to the gas station, which is a big plus. They offer a decent selection of Irish food for lunch if you're planning to sit in. I had the salmon with garlic potatoes. While the potatoes seemed slightly overcooked, the salmon itself was well done and tasted quite good. The black pepper sauce complemented the dish nicely. The cabbage had a bit of bitterness to it, but it was still alright. What really stood out, though, was the service. The waitresses were genuinely caring and friendly one even said, “There you go, love,” as she placed a Coca-Cola on my table. That simple gesture made me feel truly welcome. I’d definitely come back not just for the food, but for the warm, thoughtful service.

02/06/2025: After a pleasant walk on the greenway we decided to dine in the Grand Central Hotel. Unfortunately that was our first mistake. We were seated and managed after some time to order drinks. When our two pints did finally arrive they were only three quarters full. Foolishly deciding to allow for the benefit of the doubt we proceeded to try and place a food order.The waiting staff seemed extremely reluctant to acknowledge our existence as tables to left and the right of us were served before us even though seated after us. I had to draw one staff members attention to the fact we had yet to place a order. When the food was eventually served if left much to be desired. To be completely honest I have never experienced such bad customer service in a hotel / restaurant. The staff are truly unforgettable and for all the wrong reasons. We definitely will not be returning and could not recommend this establishment for either drinks, or food.
