29/06/2025: This place was recommended to us and it did not disappoint, the toastys are like nothing we had eaten before! My kids can be hard to please, but they really loved the food! It's Run by nice people and it's a cool place! Remember everyone, it's street food! Don't go there expecting Michelin Star table Service! Just good quality grub on the street!

21/04/2026: Bought chips there recently. They were reheats and looked like crisps. Very poor quality. Shocking really given the competition for good food now. The burger was tasteless as well. The only thing that tasted nice was the can of Fanta orange. Really disappointed with the standard here and would expect alot more from them.

17/08/2026: is this normal? update: Hi Robbie, thank you for your response. My main concern was not only the food itself, but also how the Manager on Duty handled my complaint. I raised my concern because the food appeared badly burnt, but I was simply told that this was “normal” and that if I ordered the same item again, it would just come out the same way. I was then told that I could order something else instead. I found that response quite disappointing. I wasn't expecting anything unreasonable — I simply expected my concern to be acknowledged and handled appropriately, especially considering the condition of the food shown in the photo. I appreciate you taking the time to respond.

27/06/2026: This restaurant definitely the best in Carlingford, and great value for imaginative, fresh, perfectly executed food. Crab creme brûlée was a delight, the oysters deliciously fresh and seafood seasoned to perfection. Highly recommend this friendly, unpretentious place that serves food to be proud of!

09/09/2026: This is a review of the takeaway side of things they also do reservations and walk ins to their restaurant. I’ve been eating from this place for the last couple of years, and it suddenly occurred to me that I’d never actually left a review for this absolute gem! The food here is seriously banging. It reminds me of the old-school Chinese takeaways from years ago, when the quality seemed to be on another level. Black Wok in Blackrock certainly doesn’t skimp on the portions or quality. I know value can always be debated, especially in Dundalk, but personally, I think it’s more than fair. I never mind paying a little extra when I know I’m getting genuinely good-quality food. And the curry sauce deserves a special mention — absolutely stunning! If you’re looking for a proper, old-school Chinese takeaway with great-quality food, I’d definitely recommend giving this place a try.
