The best restaurants in Louth

18/07/2025: Proper old school (but modern if that makes sense) Caf we dined in. The menu is brilliant, I went for the full fry today and it was top notch. I heard another customer order some liver which you don't see much of these days. I plan to return. The server, possibly boss or owner was very friendly, and she runs a tight ship! All the other diners spoke with local accents, which is always a good sign. I'll be back soon for the mixed grill. Great value also, these folk dont skimp on the portions. I highly recommend this place 👌

23/06/2025: Ordered a curry chip with onions and taco sauce only to realize when I got home neither onions or taco sauce has been added. Very poor service not listening to customer orders properly. If this is the case, why bother asking what we want. Joke. Disgusted customer.

24/05/2025: Place has gone down hill massively. Waited over an hour for a delivery and when we got the food it was terrible to say the least. Delivery driver has a serious attitude problem 👍 only thing going for this place is the nice girl on the phone.

25/01/2025: Had to wait over 1 hour for my order as they were short staffed in the kitchen. ( they have no tall chef's). I understand that it was the night after the big storm and most of the village had no power. However when I had to wait for over an hour, the least I expected was for my order to be correct. Alas it was missing a bag of chips. I didn't find out until I got home and we were all starving. I definitely wasn't going back to queue for an hour for chips. Disappointed guy's. Next time you're so short staffed please hire some taller staff. 😎😁

08/06/2025: We had Mullens chip van for day two of our wedding in May 2025. WOW!!! The best hangover cure, the food was amazing and very little wait time. Everyone raved about the quality of food, the fish I think being a firm favourite! A massive thank you to Tara especially, you were a dream from start to finish to work with. Would highly recommend Mullens for any event!! Sinead & Gary x

19/04/2025: Food was delicious CUSTOMER SERVICE absolutely horrible the girl working there hates her life and trys to put it on other people if you think for a bit what you going to order she will stare in you’re soul like girl calm down. She dose not look pleased to work there and talks rude. Hope y’all find someone pleased to work there

07/07/2025: Fantastic meal. Food was delicious and cooked perfectly. Delivery was fast, driver was sound and I had excellent customer service while on the phone to the restaurant. Highly recommended and I look forward to ordering from here again!

18/06/2025: The worst Thai food I’ve ever had, hands down. I’ve worked in professional kitchens cooking Thai cuisine, so I hold Thai food to a high standard - but even by the most basic expectations, this was abysmal. The curries had no depth of flavour whatsoever - just an overwhelming coconut taste with the faintest hint of garlic. Every meat was appallingly bad: poor quality, dry, chewy, and cooked completely wrong. The mixed starter box was somehow even worse - terrible flavours, cheap ingredients, and every single item cooked badly. It’s extremely rare that I would refuse to eat a meal, especially one this expensive, but I couldn’t bring myself to finish any of it. This was by far the worst takeaway I’ve had in years. Avoid completely.

16/07/2025: Nice food. Very fresh and tasty. The place lacks atmosphere however and I’ve enjoyed the food more when getting a take away to eat in the car.

20/06/2025: Always good. Never an issue. Thin proper pizza, not greasy. Meatballs are phenomenal

17/06/2025: Went in to order a vegetarian pizza, the guy at the counter seemed cringed on his face as if he never heard of vegetarian pizza in his life before. Staff was so rude apart from a lady who smiled all the way while ordering to compensate the other staff rudeness. I felt the staff were kind of racists with the way they were expressing to other couple and the audacity of one staff member having to correct a guy in pronouncing pizza as if he was fluent in an English accent but only he isn't! Food was undercooked and the base was barely baked, it was doughy while eating with cheese falling off while trying to pick. This would be my first and last visit to this hole of a place with all this attitude and food! Glad that we had Chinese takeaway ordered already.

05/07/2025: The place has a lot of potential beside the river with a nice beer garden but is let down by the food. Bad • cocktails are really bad, whiskey sour tasted like whiskey and soda water, passionfruit martini tasted like a strong mi wadi. • steak we asked for it rare and it came out well done and chewie • speakers not working in beer garden making the place lack atmosphere. Good • good service and they gave 2 free drinks after we said the streak was not good. • combo platter was above average. • we both went to birra moretti after the bad cocktails and they where really nice.

28/06/2025: I just ordered a 11.5 inch pizza with a mushroom and onion topping. And some jalapeño bites. I'd say there was maybe 1 sliced mushroom and less than a quarter of an onion in it so I couldnt taste either the mushroom or the onion on it. And.for 25 euro. A disgrace. I won't be going back.

25/05/2025: We ordered takeaway on Just Eat and when we came in, it was on time and good quality ;)

30/05/2025: I have never been treated so rudely by an 8lder woman on the phone for a ohone order she didn't sound like she wanted to be working was very rude while taking my order my whole order was wrong and I went to collect it and didn't realise till I got.home I called back to the same woman who told me I got what I ordered and put the phone down on me food went in the bin after spending over €30 i was disgusted will never order from them again .

16/05/2025: Ordered food for the Family and it was delicious, fresh still hot when delivered would highly recommend the Pizzas and the Fresh cod & Chips nice and crispy not greasy or dry 💯👌

04/09/2024: Martina at Bliss, Ardee is an amazing skilled baker and a lovely lady. She made our wedding cake and it was beyond our expectations. As we had no idea what we wanted she met us at her lovely shop to discuss over excellent coffee. She helped guide us in our choice and we left the creative design to her. We were blown away on the day when a beautifully decorated cake was personally delivered to our venue and set up to perfection. It provided a lovely end to our wedding meal and enjoyed by our guests with ( thankfully) some left for us the following day. We can't thank Martina enough for the beautiful cake, her complete professionalism and being part of our fantastic day. Thank you Martina. Jennifer & Harry

10/07/2024: €9 for a slice of cheesecake and a cup of coffee, in Ardee! You would expect to pay that sitting outside on the Champs Elysee. Avoid, stop at a filling station. Response to owners: At the trivial level I feel that I was caught for a sucker, I’ll get over it and it won’t break me. At the more serious level any tourist who felt that they were similarly done over in Bliss is likely to avoid any other artisan tea rooms in the whole of Ireland. So one business that works to this business model will actually spoil things for so many other similar establishments. The cheesecake and coffee were fine but not exceptional. In any similar French town we see the pâtisserie and boulangerie. These businesses are typically family run and will have been in place for decades and will be still there well into the future. So many attempts at this in Ireland are nothing more than pop-up shops that last just a few years. I feel that crucial difference is that the French do it to make a living, many Irish do it to make a killing.
