The best restaurants in Louth

11/03/2024: We attended PROPER for a beautiful meal where our tastebuds were certainly tantalised beyond belief. The chicken wings were 10/10 and the chicken curry was to die for. I KNOW that everybody who attended the Hen Party would certainly recommend PROPER to their friends and family. A huge well done to the gentleman waiter who clearly has acrobatic balancing skills. We will be back again soon. Thank you team PROPER from team BRUCE.

26/08/2024: Food was lovely how ever felt very rushed and constantly hovering over us as we ate. Every-time we placed down the fork to chew or to take a drink came right over to ask are we finished. The pricing was over priced for the portions

18/07/2024: Me and my fiancée love coming here. Food is so so good, the staff are so nice everytime we come in, so beautiful inside, the pork gyozas are amazing, 10/10 always. ❤️

16/10/2024: So it took me a while to write this review but at the end of the day it's all about feedback! Customers should come first. We planned a baby shower party for our friend. Booked weavers as their package was good compare to other places. Had a meeting about it and we couldn't wait for it as it was for a special Friend! Venue was booked for 25-30 ppl ( some of them didn't make it), finger food as per our meeting and email include wings, spring rolls, sandwiches, sausages and coujons. We were about 20ppl when the food arrived but it was enough to feed only 6ppl. No sandwiches, No spring rolls, No chicken wings, just burnt onions rings 2 types of chips, Cocktail Sausages and some over cooked coujons, we counted 3 Platters in total! Even our special girl, which was pregnant didn't make it to have something to eat!!! On the package Prosecco was included but it's so deceiving as it doesn't actually says that ots enough to cover 5ppl, I had to buy 1 bottle extra just to have a toast with the girls. Dj was supposed to stay longer as per agreement. Package was cake included but we had our own and we requested for the dj to play longer. Dj started at 830 and said last song at 10pm. I had to ask Louise to tell him to stay extra half an hour, which she dis as a favour. Louise was left alone all night, serving the front bar, serving the party and answering phones. Everyone had to wait in line to get a drink. The whole experience was a disaster and we were all so disappointed not be able to enjoy the party that we planned for so long! I'm so sorry to say it Louise was brilliant but management is letting the whole place down!!

11/10/2024: A group of us attended weavers last weekend and were very disappointed with service food and our over all experience we were a group of 8 sitting at 2 small square tables when booking it was for dinner and drinks tables had no room for plates for 8 we were over an hour waiting to even order a drink we were over an hour and 50mins waiting on food it wasn't overly busy and people were seated long after us ordered ate and had left we had to enquire where food was on uptine occasions when food arrived we were giving 2big bowls of chips as an apology but to the disgust they were burnt like chips fryed reheated and refryed when mentioned this the reply was "well lucky your not paying for them so" like rude and like well i don't care, overall experience i won't be back unsure of others in the party but I've payed less for much nicer service food and atmosphere I don't normally review places i say what i have to say there and then but i am so apauled by the experience and people should know what there up against, Weavers i won't be back but wish you's all the best in the future

14/10/2024: Went here for a family birthday, the food was good but the table was very small/cramped for our whole party and the service was shocking. We were only told there was no kids menu after arriving but not on the phone when booking the table. The server could definitely have been nicer

02/11/2024: Food when sitting always good. Since under new management prices have again increased. A simple bag of chips is getting daft expensive, for example. Best curry sauce in town.

12/09/2024: Best fish & chips in Drogheda in old authentic chipper. Massive menu. Service is basic and unobtrusive.

29/10/2024: Won't be ordering from here again food not very nice and overcharged me.

11/11/2024: The Drivetru is a joke you can barly hear the girl speak when putting in order. The wait time is ridiculous Only five cars was in front of me an i was 35 minutes waiting. This wasn't just a once off i only go because of kids Allegedly supermac had huge profits this year but just think how much they could make if the management were competent. Pat

28/09/2024: We are always happy about the quality and quantity of food. Staff members are also very friendly, and they create great atmosphere. I even got a lollipop for being a loyal customer.

27/08/2024: The food is horrible chips are cooked in oil that has probably been there for ages the curry is all lumpy and the chicken is like rubber, won't ever go back again

13/08/2024: Got a family spicy box 12" yesterday Monday evening, there was loads in it comfortably feed 3 adults with some leftover , only problem was it wasn't seasoned enough in the salt and chill seasoning couldn't really taste much of it off the chips none of the chicken balls and the curry sauce was very mild in my opinion and I'm not a lover of mad spicy stuff and plus side the ribs where very meaty and the chicken wing where also nice just not enough seasoning maybe I'll put it down to being a Monday as I have heard good reviews from here but id not be in a hurry to try it again.

04/09/2024: Martina at Bliss, Ardee is an amazing skilled baker and a lovely lady. She made our wedding cake and it was beyond our expectations. As we had no idea what we wanted she met us at her lovely shop to discuss over excellent coffee. She helped guide us in our choice and we left the creative design to her. We were blown away on the day when a beautifully decorated cake was personally delivered to our venue and set up to perfection. It provided a lovely end to our wedding meal and enjoyed by our guests with ( thankfully) some left for us the following day. We can't thank Martina enough for the beautiful cake, her complete professionalism and being part of our fantastic day. Thank you Martina. Jennifer & Harry

10/07/2024: €9 for a slice of cheesecake and a cup of coffee, in Ardee! You would expect to pay that sitting outside on the Champs Elysee. Avoid, stop at a filling station. Response to owners: At the trivial level I feel that I was caught for a sucker, I’ll get over it and it won’t break me. At the more serious level any tourist who felt that they were similarly done over in Bliss is likely to avoid any other artisan tea rooms in the whole of Ireland. So one business that works to this business model will actually spoil things for so many other similar establishments. The cheesecake and coffee were fine but not exceptional. In any similar French town we see the pâtisserie and boulangerie. These businesses are typically family run and will have been in place for decades and will be still there well into the future. So many attempts at this in Ireland are nothing more than pop-up shops that last just a few years. I feel that crucial difference is that the French do it to make a living, many Irish do it to make a killing.

25/08/2024: Very bad food, tasteless, salads were old and watery, meat pieces very big and hard. Never coming again.

01/08/2024: What a place! The staff is friendly and nice, they are open until 12am (midnight) and the portions are huge. I think a kebab can be shared by two people and the chicken goujon meal with fries are enough to share too. Also, authentic Asian flavours, you should tell them if you don't like spacy or anything in particular. The orred literally took five minutes to be done. We'll come back soon!

13/08/2024: Pizza was fine, good selection. Came with a really yummy garlic ranch sauce on the side.

23/06/2024: This is one of the best food places I’ve ever eaten at. Not only was the food incredibly good, BUT THE SERVICE was also out of this world. I think the employee that helped me out was a guy named Eddy, and he is kinda cute. I definitely recommend this place.

11/09/2023: Pizza is very good and I can recommend it. The only problem was that we were told there were 40 mins to wait and we waited almost 2 hours! Eventually i was so tired and stessed that I was about to leave. By the way the manager was kind and in the end came personally to apologies. I understand things like this may happen on particularly busy days like Friday is, but maybe they will learn from this experience and respect agreed times. For the rest pizza was very good and they were polite so I give good rates.

06/08/2024: Avoid.!! Ordered 4&1 with onion rings and basicslly it was a tray with rice and curry sauce. When I rang up on the phone the man who answered was no help. I had to suggest as the decent thing to send me out a portion of chips. Which he did and when delivery driver arrived he basically threw the chips at my 10 year old daughter.! He was arrogant and rude.! First time ordering here and it's my last.! I'd rather starve than eat from here again.. ILL STICK WITH HAI PHONG ON JAMES STREET MUCH NICER AND BETTER PORTION SIZE. ONLY ORDERED FROM HERE AS HAI PHONG WAS CLOSED UNFORTUNATELY.!!!
