The best restaurants in Louth

17/07/2025: Outstanding hotel in a great location in the heart of Dundalk. Not sure how our friends found it - maybe Expedia? The rooms are super clean and they did a fancy refurbishment by the looks of the lobby. The staff at the reception desk have been very accommodating. The one girl in the lobby made an excellent recommendation for a sushi place down the road. The bar attached to the restaurant is very nice looking and comfortable. Excellent food selection. I had the grilled prawns tapas which came out sizzling and was just the right amount of food. The truffle chips are also very good. My husband enjoyed his chicken curry meal. The bartenders are very engaging and friendly. The only thing I did not like about our room was the step up shower situation. I struggled to get safely into it and always afraid of falling when getting out. Never was able to get the water temperature to be right. But it was a great hotel experience and I highly recommend.

30/06/2024: After a very successful lunch on a whim, we booked and came back for an evening meal to celebrate our anniversary. I am so happy we did, and will make the same booking next year. The food is outstanding. It seems there is generally a meat dish, a fish dish, and a vegetarian dish to choose from with sides that are in season. Staff are super friendly and full of advice. The wine is reasonably priced and served at the correct temperature. It's a great spot for couples, but they also cater to larger groups. I would not say the experience is expensive, but it's not cheap either. However, you definitely get what you pay for! Because the menu changes every fortnight, this is a place you can visit again and again and be consistently both surprised and satisfied. My new favourite restaurant.

14/07/2025: Stayed here in car park in Motorhome. Got a warm welcome when we phoned and boy is it worth a visit! Dog friendly. Had pate and garlic mushrooms to start! Best pate I have had in a very long time! Then sizzling prawns and chicken in sauce for mains! I could finish mine! Beautiful. Well worth a visit . If we’re back this way we will be back

17/06/2025: This place is an all rounder, lovely bar, great Sunday lunch, its a huge place with a great roof terrace, looking forward to my next visit for a longer stay and to sup a few more Guinness's, the staff were friendly and the toilets were spotless and well stocked.

26/06/2025: Finally, a really good Chinese restaurant in Ireland! I don’t often eat Chinese anymore, as it is really hard to find a decent one in this country so wait until I am travelling. So when I was invited to Jade Garden, it was a great little surprise. You always know if a place is decent by the staff behaviour and attitude, the outside, the glasses and the internal environment. If a good level of attention is given to those areas, you can be sure it follows through across the business. Jade Garden provided attentive and efficient service, decent wine, and very tasty, well presented food. I really enjoyed the duck!!! Worth a visit. Nothing to complain about. Very good standard. Been several times since!

18/06/2025: I visit this place many times over the course of 18years. We eat in and do takeaway to and honestly i can say is the best Chinese in town, always fresh and delicious. My only complaint is that’s the food is too good as I’m keep coming back for more and more, and Jade Garden never disappoint me. Keep up the grate work!!!

31/05/2025: was here the other day got chips and chicken burger and fries well if that is what u wanna call them i would say that they where in the fryer from the day before they were soaked in grease and crisped and my friend got chicken and chips and garlic spicy sauce and was horrible again chips in it was same waste of money... the picture shows some of what the chips where like.

27/06/2025: Came here with my boyfriend for dinner, service was alright. Initially felt unwelcome but the server we later had was lovely. If you’re ordering at the bar you’re waiting around for the ladies to finish conversations amongst themselves first. I ordered a “smashed burger” and a massive mountain came out. The patty was huge, tasted like Aldi frozen burgers. If I’m paying €18/20 I’m expecting more than that. Or at least for it to be an actual smashed burger, thin patty. My boyfriend got steak and he said that was no better. He ordered medium rare and received almost well done. Steak itself again felt cheap and did not taste good at all. Would not come here again and would not recommend this place to anyone. The only reason for two stars is that apparently the Guiness was good and the price of drink wasn’t too bad.
