24/04/2026: Restaurant only...excellent, really glad we found it. The staff were lovely and found us a table, we were lucky because it was busy. Carlingford is beautiful, and it was a great welcome on our first day. I thoroughly enjoyed the carbonnara and my husband loved the prawns. Portions were plentiful!

06/06/2026: Food is great and the place is well connected. But what makes it a very good place to visit are the people working in this place. They are very accommodating and great with pets!

31/05/2026: Rang in to see if they had free tables and was told no. Decided to get takeaway and when arrived only 3 small tables were seated. Asked again and was told one table was available ( it was 90% empty) Sat down, had food which was not great and when we were leaving 90 min later there was noone else left in restaurant. This was just after 7 pm It's like they don't want customers??? Pizza was not great ...frozen spinach topping . Much better around

03/05/2026: The food here is very good.I have not been here in a long time but the standard of dishes is excellent . I had the feather blade of beef and it was the nicest I've had to date. The deserts are standard enough but lovely all the same.Staff are very friendly and efficient. It's a lovely spot for dining and watching live sports. We will be visiting more regularly.

19/04/2026: I live near the Black Bull and we probably visit it about once a year or so. It's never been great. I went on Saturday, 18/4/2026 at 6pm with my wife and 2 friends. The prices had jumped up. I ordered a €36 10 ounce Rib Eye steak and it was the worst steak I've had in my life in a restaurant. I buy €8 Sirloin steaks in Lidl most weekends and cook better than whatever stand-in chef you had working that night. It was given a very thin and overcooked low quality steak. The chips were nice... but the main event, the most important part of the meal was bad. In hindsight, I think they gave me the cheaper 6 ounce Sirloin and overcooked it when I asked for medium. Also charging €2 for at thimble sized pot of peppercorn sauce was robbery. There were very limited starter options, in fact there was only a "small plates" option no individual starters. I had asked for another glass of wine from a waitress but it never came. As usual, every time I go to the Black Bull, there's quality, service and menu issues. But messing up a €36 steak is bad. I hear from others the owner is more concerned opening up some pizza bar and probably dropped the ball badly in the Black Bull. Not impressed...

22/04/2026: This place feels stuck in the past, clinging to its history to justify an outdated, elitist culture. The service is inconsistent and clearly depends on how the owners perceive you upon arrival... Wealthy or 'traditional' patrons are prioritized, while those who don't fit a specific mold are made to feel unwelcome. It’s a space built for a tight-knit local circle rather than one that welcomes new, interesting perspectives. If you don't fit their narrow image, expect to be treated accordingly. Even more concerning is the clear internal hierarchy; the owners rule with an exclusionary hand, while the waitstaff are treated poorly and clearly overworked.

14/04/2026: Excellent breakfast all good quality eggs bacon etc fresh tea refilled without having to ask which is a great touch.Requesting no beans on one breakfast replaced with extra bacon again very kind with no fuss.Lovely bright airy restaurant we really enjoyed our food and will be back soon would highly recommend the Greenmount for top class breakfast.

27/04/2026: Wonderful place.. Nice Food and welcoming staff unlike 'MIMZ' restaurant where they don't even provide salads or dips for take away or delivery orders..Taste of Kashmir actually provides salad and 2 dips with extra pickle chillies and their peri peri chicken is so tasty

21/04/2026: We were a group of 14 people, one of our starters was forgotten about and we never got it Food was poor quality, chicken was over cooked. Service was rude, pints were poor. Overall we didn't feel welcome and we were happy to finish up and go elsewhere
