13/05/2026: Absolutely stunning place, lovely staff and owners, friendly, helpful, attentive. Perfect breakfast, really nice rooms. Cosy reading room with a fireplace, nice decorations. I've stayed there twice and will come back again.

28/06/2026: We stumbled upon this place completely by chance. It's AMAZING! Even in France, it had been a long time since we'd had such a pleasant surprise! The eggplant and shrimp curry were absolutely delicious. The impeccable service and the cleanliness of the restrooms (clean restrooms = clean kitchen, that's what I've always been taught!) further enhance the quality of this place. Don't hesitate for a second.

22/09/2026: Delicious seafood (and non-seafood) dishes. Small main menu with huge specials list each week. Excellent staff. We had the monkfish & John dorey, followed by pear & almond tart and profiteroles.

24/10/2026: Always a great experience at The Golden Goose! I’ve been here many times, and the service is consistently excellent. The waiting staff are always friendly, attentive and welcoming, which really makes a difference. I had the Cajun chicken burger this time around, and it was absolutely delicious! Definitely one I’d recommend trying. Compliments to the chef, who deserves to take a bow! 👏 The owner is also a genuinely friendly person who helps create a lovely, welcoming atmosphere. It’s great to have a restaurant where the food is consistently good and you’re made to feel welcome every time you visit. Highly recommend The Golden Goose for great food and excellent service. Looking forward to coming back again!

Amazing service and quick , steak was a little small but over all , a smashing meal. Will be back again

10/10/2026: First visit today for the new lunch menu. Service was great, food was excellent, and the decor was very cool. Lunch for three was reasonablly priced for the quality of the food. I’d definitely recommend to put this on the list. I’ll definitely be back! Also dog friendly into the left bar.

22/09/2026: Lovely quiet bar in the heart of Drogheda. We were there on a Thursday evening and there was a few guys having a great singsong in the corner.

01/09/2026: Really kind of 3 pubs in one. The front bar is the classic old school pub look with plenty of old man locals; it wraps around to a second rustic bar room. Pass through to the lounge which also has a stand-up bar and handles weekend crowds. The lounge has bands that set-up in the corner, they do a Monday night with usually local bands playing rock classics which is fun and has no cover. The Patio which has a had a retractable roof is a great spot on a sunny day, don't expect much a crowd early in the week. Weekends they usually have a DJs playing to the patio crowd which leans very young as the night goes on. Sometimes they have special DJ events that might have a small cover. The patio also has a rolldown screen for bog matches. Also have a part of the patio they use for birthday parties etc. Great pints and bonus points for having Lagunitas IPA on draft for when you are weary of the Guinness. Staff is great. They don't serve food, but Biddo's has a food truck on the patio Thursday-Sunday evenings featuring birria style tacos/nachos etc. definitely worth trying. Note it can get crowded so plan accordingly. Without a doubt one of the best places in town.
