04/04/2024: We spent 4 nights at the Maldron Parnell Square Hotel. The location is ideal, 15-20 minutes walk from the center. A bus stop is a minute's walk from the hotel. The bus that brought us from the airport dropped us off there. Very warm welcome at the hotel, clean and comfortable room. We could hear the street from our room. The breakfast is exceptional!!!! Really good and very varied: savory side: Sausages, fried egg, grilled tomatoes, white beans in tomato sauce, mushrooms.... On the sweet side: several types of bread, croissants, chocolatines, cakes, cereals, porridge on request and so on! We had dinner 2 evenings at the hotel, very good, however, although there were not many people, the service was long!! More than half an hour waiting for a dish... too bad. Otherwise nothing to complain about! I recommend!

03/04/2024: Good quality. Good service. Good breakfast. Good location. Next time I just have to remember to bring my own brush for the toilet for 1 euro. ; ) (Suggestion for improvement checked?) ---- Addition to the review after last evening. I tried the bar and discovered that it was a bar without a trained bartender, who spent 10 minutes struggling with the consistency of the cocktail in the mixer after studying the operating instructions for the Strawberry Daiquiri. (That's what happens when you only mix ice cream with rum and syrup)... then it was difficult to spoon the whole thing out of the mixer. Has anyone seen a barman take the entire cocktail out of the mixer with a spoon because it won't pour out and is stuck in the mixer? At least there was a free drink as compensation.

05/10/2023: Really really good food! Love that they have tofu and vegetarian options. Great service. Highly recommend.

24/03/2024: A very cozy place. The soup is super delicious, like it was freshly made and full of fish, mollusks... the plate seems small but it is quite filling. We accompanied it with squid rings and a side salad. Two non-alcoholic drinks. They sat us at the high table, it is comfortable. For wheelchairs there are lower tables. There is a fairly large terrace.

06/05/2024: We breakfasted there on Saturday and were seated inside which was quite comfortable. We both opted for the vegetarian breakfast which was served quickly. My only complaint is we suggested that the plates for hot food should also be hot or at the very least warmed. This seemed to be news to two members of staff which is a shame. Other than that a reasonable pleasant experience.

18/03/2024: Had the most delicious beef here oh my god the beef in the bourguignon simply melts in your mouth. Please do try this dish. Loved every bit of it.for dessert tried the lemon drizzle baked Alaska. I liked how the lemon meringue combined with the frozen ice cream and then the cake simply was delicious. The staff here is great

17/03/2024: Amazing experience at Foodworks. The food is fresh, seasonal and very tasty with plenty of menu options. The staff were lovely and the price is very reasonable.

29/03/2024: Nice pub in a good location. Nobody there when we arrived bar two others. Is a very large pub with great space to eat and drink. On less busy nights might benefit from some form of partitioning in order to give it a little warmth. Toilets were clean and maintained. We did not eat in this visit but there is a full food menu available.

26/03/2024: Can in on a Sunday after a match in croke park expecting it to be busy but surprisingly it's wasn't. I now know why. Sat down to order food, nobody doing table service went to the bar myself to get menus, ordered drinks but waited while they chatted behind the bar to get service even though I'm the only one at the bar. Waited at table 10 minutes for someone tk take food order this girl was very nice while taking order. Food was OK nothing special and small portions, chips severed where soft and soggy i.e. Wrong potatoes used that don't fry.

02/04/2024: I have been there with my partner for only one night because we wanted to see the Cliffs of Moher but I can say that I already have nostalgia about that place. Can't say a lot about it since we spend there only few hours but vibes and e edgy were special. The owner is so sweet and always there to help, the room where clean and comfortable, amazing breakfast and perfect location with parking. Highly recommended. It is not modern, but if you are looking for a cozy and nice and warming place to stay definitely go there!!

29/10/2023: We had a wonderful stay! The food was lovely and there was a great atmosphere. John and Ann were very friendly and the room was very clean. We had a fabulous time there and we look forward to staying there again next year. Elizabeth, Marien & Margaret from Cork

02/04/2024: Layla's is a very nice place just outside the busier center of Dublin. It reminded us a lot of Sophie's in the center, apparently it's family ;) we got a good spot and the food was good for the price we paid. The shrimp croquettes were excellent, we shared them. Then the pasta venison, which was very good and the pizza with ham was also very tasty. For dessert we had the cheesecake, which was on the dry side. The service was friendly and fast. We had the first meeting of the evening so I had the impression that we had to leave before eight o'clock :) There is a nice bar downstairs in the hotel and the terrace upstairs at Layla is also an inviting place for a drink. All in all, I think this is highly recommended for Dublin because it is just off the beaten track and has a beautiful view of Dublin, the mountains and the characteristic houses around it. If you want to go to the movies, you can also do that in this hotel.
