24/04/2026: I recently tried the mix shawarma from Zamzam Restaurant. The overall taste was decent and the portion size was good, but I noticed an issue with the chicken. It didn’t feel fresh and seemed like it had been reheated. There is a clear difference between freshly cooked and reheated food, and unfortunately, this affected the overall experience. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback positively and improves the freshness of their ingredients, as it could make a big difference in quality.

21/10/2025: Oysters were absolutely delicious! Will definitely be back for more. The staff probably could not be more apathetic and disinterested if they tried. I came in through the back by accident and took a seat, not knowing orders must be made at the counter (some signs around the restaurant might help in this regard), I was sat there a good 10-15 min with no one providing any kind of assistance. I had to get the attention of a waitress who then informed me of the procedure to order at the counter. Every single person working there looked as lifeless as the oysters being served, I didn't see any staff member smile once. It just made the entire experience a little glum... The setting itself was nice and comfortable enough, but I felt like I was imposing by simply being a customer... I think some motivation is needed for the staff?

29/09/2025: We used to live in New Orleans, La. USA which is renowned for its oysters and I have to say that Sligo Oyster Experience has the best oysters we have ever had anywhere in the world! We had the raw, herb baked and cheese baked oysters. This is a MUST stop if you are anywhere near Sligo. PS, the vegetable soup is divine!

Service is timely even during busy periods, and the team manages to stay attentive without being intrusive.

10/11/2025: I popped in this morning for breakfast and was disappointed with the food quality. The avocado was clearly spoiled brown, mushy, and definitely not safe to eat. They applied a 15% discount, but this isn’t about the money; it’s about the serious health risk of serving food in that condition. It raises real concerns about food safety and cross-contamination in the kitchen. Totally unacceptable, and I really hope management addresses this issue promptly.

18/04/2026: ATU was great, we went to the Farmer's Market in the Car park this Saturday. The University looks amazing.

06/02/2026: The actual college itself is grand, the layout can take a bit of getting used to but it has great amenities and all of the lecturers have been pretty knowledgeable and happy to take questions. However given the amount of students, the parking situation is an absolute joke. I’d say a good chunk of people (both students and staff) are getting to the college by car, there aren’t NEARLY enough places to park!

01/10/2025: Lovely local bar. Always fun with the regulars. Perfect separate party room space too. Lovely stove fire during the colder seasons. Pool table, live sport also. 10min walk from Sligo town and last pub before Rosses Pt if you are heading from town. Bus stop and E bikes stop right outside door.

06/08/2025: Delicious coffee, nice staff. Beautiful view of the river from the terrace.

07/07/2025: I enjoy the food but not the beverages. I ordered a cappuccino which was very weak and tasteless. Was advised they use medium roast. Tea also bland. Not to my taste but the cakes and scones are good.

08/05/2026: Might be the greatest chinese i've ever had, as soon as I entered the Restaurant, the atmosphere from staff and people around was great. The food was amazing and I will definetly be visiting frequently especially for those spice bags.

03/11/2025: The garavogue has turned into a dump of a pub with some of the most ignorant bouncers I've ever met. Thankfully I don't go out much but will make sure to not go back there.

22/09/2025: We had an excellent experience on Saturday for my sister in law to be’s hen party. We had a cocktail class, led by the very professional bar manager (I’m so sorry I cannot recall his name), expertly led and very accommodating, my sister is a wheelchair user and he brought the cocktail ingredients to her table and completed the demo - afterwards we went into Maeve’s for a drink where they cleared a table to ensure we all got to sit together at a low table to accommodate the wheelchair. We then went to Waxies for our dinner, we had a two course menu - the food was divine and the staff were absolutely lovely there also.. We returned to Garravogue later on for some dancing, a table was reserved for us alongside some complimentary shots!! Special shout out to Robbie, the head doorman - he was brilliant, nothing was ever an issue, he was so accommodating 😁

29/04/2026: Chicken kebab was really bad but the staff were sound. I think I deserve it for ordering a kebab in an Italian restaurant tbh

30/12/2025: Been a loyal customer for su way for over 7 years, eating the same sandwich which is a hearty italian bmt with bacon, the amount of pepperoni and salami were supposed to be 6 each yat only got 4 each, since when is it 1 euro for some grated cheese??? Also was overcharged, my 2x subway sandwiches were supposed to come to 18.40e yat I paid 20.20e, corporate will be notified about this and its a scam on all customers for my point of view.

02/11/2025: I have ordered home delivery from Subway on Mail Coach rd. One sandwich was missing, when I reng to say that they offered free sandwich nxt time even tho I said I don't know when I'll ever order again. No cash back. No delivering missing sandwich. Rest of sandwiches were poorly wraped, and there was no indication on what is what sandwich. Had to open them all and check. 5 people at the house waiting for order, and one of us just didn't get it. Awful experience, wouldn't recommend!

20/12/2025: Some buzz there in the summer months. When the sun is out great spot for a pint with a view on the outside seating. Live music occasionally on weekends. Well organized pub. Recommend going for a drink but better places to go for food

07/04/2026: All outside tables better get ample transparent roofing. Indoor dinning seats were full during a not so peak rainy time.

16/11/2025: WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! ordered a spice box and they didnt give it to us. not to mention the last time they took an hour and a half to come and it looked like there was a booger on the food and there was hair in it. terribly rude staff didnt even offer a refund or a new munch box. never order from here ive gotten food poisoning a few times from the chicken being uncooked too

10/05/2026: Had food here with my wife and 4 kids today. It was impressive how much they messed up. To start, despite the place being quite the service was slow. Then they forgot one of the kids meals, it came later when everyone else was finishing their. I had a chicken burger which was burnt. My wife got a beef burger that were undercooked and had to be sent back. My daughter’s beef burger was also undercooked, but she had most of it eaten by the time we realised. Just an awful experience.

11/04/2026: Great location, friendly staff, good Guinness, but for those with dust allergies, I don't recommend it. The room had very heavy air, I think the carpet wasn't vacuumed properly. The water disappeared from the sink twice, but the problem was resolved quickly. The pizza was below average, the dough was a bit undercooked, we had to send it back.
