The best restaurants in Sligo

01/09/2025: They had a tuna wrap, not a fan of wraps but of tuna but the barista made the sandwich for me. It was a flavourful tuna sandwich with a few chillies and red onions. A sandwich and a flat cost under 10 which is a rarity anywhere in Ireland at the moment! Add to it good views and a nice setting.

30/08/2025: If you're feeling down, sad, or depressed... I definitely recommend going to this place for a coffee. Great music, attentive service, and the greatest willingness to help! I'm grateful to the Colombian friend who helped me that day... I wasn't having a good day, and he encouraged me to keep going, not worry, and enjoy a good sandwich and soup. I recommend drinking mate in the morning, and the ham/cheese sandwich was delicious. I would definitely go back, and I recommend stopping by this place to anyone who wants to start their morning with good energy.

09/07/2025: Lyons cafe ......as good it gets, tasty, reliable, reasonably priced. Great staff, great buzz highly recommended! We especially enjoyed the chicken, leek and bacon pie followed by the pear and almond dessert, simply sublime!

21/06/2025: This place does not disappoint. We've been here a couple of times the food has been 10/10 with each dish ordered; from soup to salad, dish of the day to vegetarian option. The only problem with visiting Sligo is there are so many tasty eateries to choose from. But do try to check this place out.

20/12/2025: Unfortunately, I had a very uncomfortable experience this evening due to poor customer service. One of the baristas was calling out all the orders very loudly, which completely ruined the atmosphere. Shortly before closing, I went to use the bathroom, and while I was there, she came into the hallway twice, screaming for me to come out, which felt very aggressive and very uncomfortable. I understand staff needing to close on time, but this approach was very unprofessional and unacceptable.

30/01/2026: Ordered a chicken box meal at 19.15 pm aprox, got it 5 minutes later walhed home , which toik 7 or 8 minutes, The fries and the milk shake both good the chicken was disgusting, absolute rubbish, was cooked hours beforehand, and kept hot under lights, threw it in the trash, 14.10 euro fir a med milkshake and fries . Total rip off, i work in catering so i think i know when something is good or not, absoluy muck, avoid this place.

18/12/2025: Found this little gem after visiting Sligo and staying in the Radisson Blu. Take away only however the food is top notch really good. We ordered Satay Chicken Skewers, Chicken Fried Rice, Chicken Curry, Chicken Balls and some chips and have to say it was one the best chinese meals we have had to take away. Wait was not long and the food was still piping hot when we got back to the hotel. Service was fast and very friendly. We would highly recommend.

25/11/2025: I love this takeaway! The staff are so friendly and nice and the food is freshly prepared especially the shredded chicken.

22/02/2026: Great pizza, chicken and burgers. It’s like KFC, Dominos and Burger King in one place.

13/02/2026: Order food online, was supposed to take 20 minutes, arrived 25 minutes after ordering, had to wait around an additional 25 minutes to get the food. Inside wasn't even busy, food is good as always but the wait was ridiculous

20/12/2025: Some buzz there in the summer months. When the sun is out great spot for a pint with a view on the outside seating. Live music occasionally on weekends. Well organized pub. Recommend going for a drink but better places to go for food

29/08/2025: Avoid like the plague. Fish was mushy, batter swimming in oil. Dry fries, not homemade but frozen. Chowder inedible. Only bright spot was the portion of homemade onion rings.

25/08/2025: The best pub in Ballymote. The Guinness is amazing, better than what we got living in Dublin! All our Dublin friends and family agree. A beautiful wooden interior with a wonderful fireplace that really adds to the atmosphere. And the staff are superb and so friendly.

11/08/2025: Nice pub and food but the owner seems like the most bitter man. If you don’t like serving customers don’t own a bar. After an afternoon of good food and a really nice server, boyfriend and I got up to pay and had the owner roll his eyes in our face when we asked to split the bill. No chat out of him just pure annoyance. Would be rating it lower if not for the kind bartender woman who was serving us before this. Fine establishment as long as you avoid the owner.
