24/02/2025: There’s a sign on their door that says “great food 3-10. We arrived at 9:10pm and they said their kitchen is closed. A lying establishment. Take the sign down or keep your kitchen open.
20/02/2025: Stopped in randomly after getting off the train in Sligo. Great spot with lots of history. Bar manager/owner was so hospitable and made the random visit extremely worthwhile. The banter in the bar was a bonus!

19/03/2025: Over 10 euros for a veggie burrito, and that doesn't include guac or sour cream.
Oh, and they don't have free hot sauce anymore, they charge 50cent for a ridiculous sachet.

08/02/2025: First time arriving at this pub, never had a beverage before inside and was told to leave as "manager"said I had too many drinks and I did not have any alcohol before arriving in any other pub !manager was very rude !

17/03/2025: I haven't been in years! As we were in town for the St. Patricks Day parade, and we thought we would pop in and see if we could get a table. The smell as you walked in the door instantly made your tummy grumble. We were so lucky to get a table as the place was buzzing. Very friendly staff, lovely menu and so nice to find a place with a decent size table now a days. I got the steak, my husband got the chicken florentine and my daughter a pizza. All came out hot, fresh, and together. Everything was superb. We will definitely make more of an effort to come back in the future.
05/02/2025: The food, wine and cocktails were delicious. Friendly, warm and welcoming atmosphere. I look forward to a return visit.

02/03/2025: Today I was on little trip to Sligo and I dropped in to Shake Dog. I had Route66 burger meal and it was absolutely delicious. Melting in my mouth! Thank you for the food and for the lovely chat.

21/01/2025: Food and staff were lovely at those hotel, but as for staying, what was meant to be a relaxing break, we returnee hone exhausted. The noise by the generators from the kitchen and local super market went on through the night. We got no sleep at all, reported it to staff but nothing was done.
The shower in our room ran out of water. No clean towels provided for each day.
Returned home shattered and exhausted. Would not stay here again

Two of us dined here yesterday and had a light breakfast.
The food was freshly cooked and the hash browns and the mushrooms were the best I have ever tasted.
It is very clean, welcoming, fantastic value for money and the staff are top notch.
Several other restaurants/cafes in Sligo could take note from this wonderful venue.
