The best restaurants in Sligo

18/07/2025: Strandbar is a staple of Strandhill. Don’t leave without popping in for a pint, Pinot and/or Pizza. Admired by locals and tourists alike, this place has loads to offer in terms of space, menu (lunch and dinner) and drinks! It’s a lovely Irish pub that feels cosy in winter with their fireplace lit and has plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy the sunset on a summer day! We’ve lived across the road for many years, popping in on a regular basis for pint, Pinot and Pizza. Recently, we’ve had our wedding after party there in their function room. The staff were helpful and accommodating and made both planning and execution a breeze! Our guests had fun and enjoyed the sunlit evening at the beachside. Couldn’t pick any better! Thank you again.

15/07/2025: The service and the atmosphere were just fine. The chicken was Incredibly overcooked and was very dry. It appeared shriveled and bone dry. When I cut into it there was not even a hint of juiciness.

02/07/2025: Reasonable accommodation rates and very flexible. Very welcoming and informative. Live music downstairs but this was explained in advance . Would recommend

20/07/2025: Came in today very disappointed. This is not an authentic Mexican restaurant at all. Very Americanized restaurant. The food was so blend and the tacos look and taste dry. We definitely need an authentic Mexican restaurant in Sligo. This one is sadly not it!

11/03/2025: Going in here is like a time warp back to when pubs were basic and did what most pubs do best, serve beer! Love it there. If you’re lucky enough to get a sunny day, the sunsets are welcomed with a nice pint

17/02/2025: Was pleasently surprised with the quality of food and service provided. Everything is homemade and you can taste it. The owner running the Cart was friendly and open.Will be returning, small gem in Sligo highly reccomend.

11/07/2025: In here early with the family (young kids). Staff are a genuinely lovely young crew who were very nice with the smallies. All well fed and the pint was decent.

16/06/2025: Nice food but the owner doesn’t know what he is doing. He is just good of drinking Heineken behind the counter..he is lucky to get this pub from his parents but he doesn’t know anything about hospitality…kiss from Paris

24/07/2025: The lovely staff who work here and looked after us from greeting us on the door, through to the waitress who brought our food and drinks and gave us recommendations are a credit to this restaurant. Everything was such a lovely experience, great wine, great food and great atmosphere.

19/07/2025: The food was spectacular! We came after closing but they were nice enough to still serve us. The service was excellent. The olives are delicious. And the specialty pasta is a must to order! It is the best pasta dish I have ever had! The noodles tasted homemade, the chicken was cooked perfect, and the flavor was so tasty. I wish I had this restaurant where I live, it would be frequented often.

16/07/2025: Nice food, very poor service. Was there last Saturday afternoon 12/07/2025, they took over an hour to bring out two dishes, head waitress walked off in the middle of me saying this to her.

09/05/2025: Tried to book a room, to attend exams in Sligo. Price was 320 for 2 nights no breakfast, I phoned them and then price jumped to 338 within 10 minutes then jumped to 378 in less than an hour of 1st inquiry. RIP OFF. phoned them and they said nothing they could do. Very disappointing that students are being ripped off like this.

13/07/2025: Absolutely loved walking to a good old Irish pub. The Guinness was 5 star alone.
