31/10/2024: Nice food but don’t believe the out of date menu prices on the website. Manager laughed when I pointed it out and apologised they were too busy to update the website!

19/02/2025: Visited twice today. Once for takeaway hot chocolate and muffin. Later with friend for toasties. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Food was delicious . Decor was inviting and homely with stove lighting on wet and windy day. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

06/10/2024: Lovely little candy shop in Galway. The girl who helped me was super friendly and made my experience a 10/10. Everything was packed with care because she knew I had to travel a long distance with it. I bought two of the gummy packages and I tried one when I got home and they were absolutely delicious. Definitely recommend if you're making a stop in Galway.

14/08/2024: Wonderful sweets in a cute old fashioned shop with super friendly staff! Don't miss when visiting Galway! We loved the rhubarb and custard sweets and the vanilla fudge and nougat for our drive back to Dublin!

20/03/2025: Very nice atmosphere and decor. My wife and I went for pints only. Sat at the bar and were somewhat ignored for several minutes. Staff seemed to focus on locals over visitors.

10/12/2024: This year we chose The Embassy for our Christmas work meal. An excellent choice! We went for the €49 euro Christmas Menu which was excellent value. The service was impeccable. The surroundings were cosy, comfortable and the restaurant had a lovely Christmas feel to it. The complimentary bread and dips are delicious. The food was perfect. The turkey and ham dinner was excellent and there were large dishes of roast vegetables too. We all literally rolled out of the place so full! Looking forward to going back with family. A wonderful night had by all.

26/09/2024: While walking the city center we found this tucked away bakery. The sourdough breads were top notch. Very nice selection of pastries and the take away coffee hit the spot.

15/03/2025: This is a review of the dining experience- so far we have had a good stay at the hotel. We had chowder and curry at dinner, both delightful but the service soured the evening. To start no one came by the table for 10 min, stopped by and said “ready to order?” To which I kindly asked for water. I think there was a communication break down as one item wasn’t put in. We then after eating asked for our check- another 15-20 min went by and no one stopped by our table. We finally had to get up and stand by the host stand and see if someone could give us our check- to which a server said “we are very busy.” I had a poor experience at breakfast after the front desk told us our breakfast was included, I entered the breakfast and our room number was checked and she told me where to sit. My husband followed 10 min later and was told breakfast was not included. At this point I had started eating. When I asked why no one told me it wasn’t included when I walked in the lady explained “because it’s my job” and someone else seated me. We explained several times the gentlemen who checked us in informed us of this. There was zero apology for misinformation so we ended up leaving the partially eaten plate of food on the table to eat somewhere locally. Our room has been lovely other than not being able to control the temperate.

21/03/2025: We chose this restaurant because of the reviews. It is off season here so nothing is crowded. In fact, only 8 patrons including my wife and I were there tonight at the time. While the food lived up to all that was expected, the service was terrible. We each ordered a drink when we sat down. It took 13/14 minutes until we were served them. We each ordered a soup and dinner. How long can soup take? Well, about 20 minutes here. We expressed our disappointment, and the soups were removed from our check but still. My wife and I generally like to share/split an entree as we get appetizers each, here the soup (tomato) which was excellent. It states on the menu that sharing or splitting is not allowed. We would not return to this establishment.

10/03/2025: Lovely stop on the way back from Sligo Town to Foxford. Great food and large portions. Also cappuccino’s were delicious and although we were too full to order dessert they looked simply amazing.

14/02/2025: Just had a full Nook breakfast, it was wonderful great quality and plenty of it, would fully recommend this cafe. Great service too.

08/03/2025: A visit with friends after a 12 years. Used to be an old favourite venue. Delighted that our evening didn’t disappoint. Service, as always, very efficient. Food, again, as before, was super. Caters for all sorts of palate. I had the warmed goats cheese with salad. Others had the Smokey burger or fish and chips. We were very well looked after by Louise through the evening. Thank you so much.
