The best restaurants in Sligo

18/10/2025: Enjoyed the vibe here while having a few pints. Cozy but there are several separate areas to sit.

15/08/2025: We came to listen to Irish music and left after 30 minutes because of the noise of the conversations. It was a shame because the band was good. But some women were shouting to be heard and it spoiled the musical atmosphere.

14/11/2025: Fabulous best burger 🍔 I didn't really like the chicken wings thats preference boneless wings they tasted.like gougons it was very nice 😋 ambulance was beautiful with neon lights 😋 fabulous

28/10/2025: We went there for a drink without going to the restaurant. The bartender is very professional and friendly, and the pub decor, dating back to 1781, is worth seeing. The Guinness is particularly delicious, and that evening there was a Latin music trio with Felip & the 2 Eddies—the icing on the cake!

27/09/2025: My wife and stopped in for lunch and had a great experience. The restaurant was very welcoming, the food delicious and the service was top notch.

31/10/2025: we had a meal there today as it was my son's graduation. The waitress was very friendly . my salad was nice but the turkey dinner my son had was just not great with big chunks of veg and mash was a bit dry. my partner asked for a ham sandwich which was very unappetizing and visually just two big triangles of bread wit ham stuffed in the middle. the dinner cost over 18 euro and we just expected a bit better value for money. it wasn't busy there and just thought food is not visually great and could be more appealing.

25/10/2025: There’s something quietly noble about a place like Lags Bar. No pretense, no tasting menus, no one trying to reinvent the potato — just solid food, the kind that fills your stomach and makes you feel human again. We started with the Mexican potatoes — a Frankenstein’s monster of spuds, minced meat, and molten cheese. Messy, indulgent, and exactly what you want with the first sip of a pint. It’s not a starter that asks for approval; it just shows up and gets the job done. The steak sandwich followed — simple, meaty, unapologetic. The fish and chips came out crisp, golden, and properly fried — the kind of thing that reminds you how good bar food can be when people still give a damn. And of course, a pint of Guinness — dark, creamy, perfectly settled. It’s the punctuation mark at the end of a meal that doesn’t try to impress, only to satisfy. Lags Bar isn’t chasing trends. It’s feeding people. And that’s something worth sitting down for.

15/08/2025: Amazing deserts made fresh in store, lovely hot chocolates and coffee, didn't try the food but given the deserts are made fresh I'd say it's a safe bet. I did not see vegan food on the menu, but there is a vegetarian option.

29/10/2025: Absolutely delicious breakfast- really excellent value for our family of six. We had two full Irish/Nook, eggs Benedict, French toast and porridge.

18/10/2025: Driving from Derry to Galway, we found Nook Cafe in Collooney; it was a real find. Great brisket toasties! Thanks to all the staff for a great lunch.

20/12/2025: Food was amazing! Waitress was brilliant, overall great restaurant & would visit again

30/10/2025: I had a great experience. I personally liked my own meal, the fish of the day that I forgot the name of, but it was a bit chewy but I think that’s just me. And my mom’s margarita pizza was the best cheese pizza I’ve ever tasted. Brother’s Chicken wings were a bit bland. But overall very good! Waiter was friendly and the atmosphere was cosy and overall great experience.

14/10/2025: My 1st time there and one of the staff keep glancing at me angrily. Don't know what her issue and when I go to the counter to pay, she intentionally bump into me and give me side eye. I DONT KNOW HER! The food is good,just like any Asian food but the waiter need to keep her attitude to herself! It's rude. T one who wearing the black and red cheongsam or Korean outfits on Friday. That attitude is unnecessary. I come there to eat not to see her poor attitude!!! Need to review this here as it need to be state out as it is what had happened that day!

11/10/2025: Food was excellent, very nice. Polite staff and happy to accommodate two very drunk English man, sorry we kept you there past closing time!

11/11/2025: We were visiting Sligo at the weekend. Booked a reservation on the Saturday morning for 10 people that evening. The young lad and girl who served us where brilliant. Really polite even though they were under pressure. Food was excellent. They brought 2 bowls of vegetables to the table which were absolutely gorgeous. I will visit again when in Sligo. Absolutely tops 👌

10/09/2025: First time here during the week and safe to say I will be back, best coffee I’ve had in a long time.

08/09/2025: Had a lovely time in Milligram Sligo. Really lovely coffee, very big selection of drinks and traybakes. Number of GF and Vegan options. Milk alternatives available. Great vibe/ atmosphere. Limited seating, we had to wait 5/10 mins but worth it!!

12/11/2025: Delicious smoothie served by Lucia. Lucia was very friendly and provided excelent service. Very knowledgeable about the products she sells.

26/11/2025: Fierce busy spot, even on a Tuesday night there was a decent crowd in. Great barman, looked after us very well.

06/10/2025: Very good pint and a nice atmosphere. Very nice people both at the bar and at their off license store next door. Checking out both should be on your Sligo to do list.
