The best restaurants in Sligo

15/03/2025: I stayed there for two days and it was in an incredible location: right in the city centre. My room had a view on the river: incredible! Breakfast and dinner was easy to get inside the building since they also have a pub and a restaurant!

08/03/2025: Couldn’t have been a better hotel in which to stay after a 12 year gap from ‘living’ in the area. Every member of staff were friendly and polite. When I had a one-off issue they were accommodating over and above their remit. (Thank you Elena, Aral and magda.). We didn’t go into the restaurant but the bar food and drink was excellent. Dan and Shannon looked after us so well. Housekeepers friendly and accommodating. Rachel whizzed downstairs to get something for me and she wasn’t even our housekeeper!. Elena was our marvellous housekeeper who I couldn’t fault. Friendly and kind. Thank you. Will visit again I hope.

02/02/2025: Really lovely weekend in the very family friendly hotel. The staff were so helpful and accommodating. Relaxed, homely feel. Great pool facility and fairy door trail for the kids. Would recommend for family stay 👍

15/03/2025: Such a run down hotel and not cheap considering the decor..approx €120 per night NOT including breakfast. I was so shocked at the decor..on arriving you are confronted with the main staircase...carpet torn dirty and frayed. .and two lumps of unused " counter tops" shoved into a corner ..I presume this was the original check in desk..not used anymore but just dumped in the lobby.you check in at the bar. I will say the rooms were clean as were the bathrooms.but the quality of furnishings is dire ..odd matching bits and bobs...a padded stool on one side of the bed and a battered desk on the other side a chair covered in scratches lamps like something out of a charity shop broken ceiling lampshade from the 70's...the reverse of the bedroom door all scratched. The whole place needs a face life. It was really really scruffy...it made me want to itch! As I said , the bed and bathroom were clean...the only salvation as it was too late to leave and book in somewhere else. Honestly this place needs money to be spent on it ...not a fortune ..new carpets throughout, and a total update on furniture and light shades. Bathrooms a bit dated but large and to be honest , could be left as they are. I cannot believe the owners think it's ok to provide these rooms and the price is ridiculous! The staff however were very nice and accommodating. Does the owner actually visit modern hotels to see the difference? This place is out of the ark , people these days expect better...never again!

23/02/2025: Really great spot. Staff Friendly, extensive menu, huge portions, different areas to eat in, lovely quint bar also inside, creamy Guinness, nice local IPA also. Highly recommend this place

10/03/2025: Had a great stay here during the Western Drama Festival. Teresa and Matthew couldn't have done enough. Really hospitable people, and the bar/restaurant area is so warm and cozy with a fireplace. Food is very tasty, with solid dinner and breakfast options available.

30/01/2025: I would extremely recommend cawleys hotel the rooms are fabulous, the staff are extremely accommodating and especially therese I’ve gotten a complimentary coffee every time I’ve went she’s been really friendly and helpful to me, there’s a really comfortable atmosphere 10/10

09/03/2025: Stayed here for about a week or so in January while working around Lough Talt, and I have to say, it was a grand spot altogether. The staff were absolute gems—sound as a pound and always up for a chat. Breakfast was spot on, plenty to keep you going for the day. The rooms? Loads of space, none of that cramped nonsense. Parking was never an issue, which is a blessing when you’re coming back wrecked after a long day. And if you’re lucky enough to get one of the rooms facing the beach, the view is something else. Would happily stay again. Fair play to them!

18/02/2025: Beautiful restaurant, next to the ocean, with amazing views. Had the spicy chicken wings, fish and chips. The food was excellent. Well worth a visit.

25/02/2025: My sister and I had a fabulous meal on Wednesday night. The food was delicious, really delicious. The presentation was soo good. The service was tops. Not intrusive, not rushed but attentive, helpful and friendly. We felt important. !!!

23/02/2025: We recently had dinner here with family and I must say that I found it difficult to find fault with anything. We each decided to go for the set dinner menu and were not disappointed. All starters, main courses and desserts were top notch and the service was excellent. Will return.

03/03/2025: Many, many thanks and kudos to Alan Fitzmaurice and team for a fantastic meal on Saturday! Above and beyond expectations - we were a group of old and new friends and all of us were blown away. Notably, I'm vegan - not an issue and fabulous food
