11/06/2026: Lovely and very friendly place, staff always very helpful and helpful
06/06/2026: Stayed for a wedding, had a very pleasant time. The views are beautiful and the reception for the wedding was delightful.
The rooms are very comfortable and the voya spa products in the bathroom and give a luxury feel. Anything we needed the staff were very hospitable.
the breakfast option for gluten free wasn’t great and unfortunately there was contamination with a hair in my mushrooms.

Shake Dog
Sligo
02/08/2026: I found that the staff were very rude one girl in particular snatched the menus off the table and didn’t let us finish ordering what we wanted before she walked off this same girl, I have seen vaping behind the counter with a plate in her hand. I thought it was very bad service and we were waiting nearly 30 minutes for 2 milkshakes which is not good enough.
08/07/2026: Such delicious food and great price value

Vintage Lane Cafe
18/07/2026: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
An absolute hidden gem! We had a wonderful experience at Vintage Lane Café. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, the food was delicious, and the coffee was excellent.
One thing we especially loved was the music. It was so much fun watching the chef dancing while cooking and setting the rhythm for the whole kitchen. You could see the great teamwork between the chef and the waitress, and their positive energy made the atmosphere even more enjoyable.
We were also traveling with our dog Elmo, who was warmly welcomed and immediately provided with fresh water. It’s those thoughtful little touches that make a place truly special.
To finish, we tried the cakes, and they were absolutely delicious. If you’re passing by, this café is definitely worth stopping for.
I travel a lot and visit many cafés, so I have plenty to compare it with. Vintage Lane Café is one of those places I would happily return to anytime. Highly recommended!

Coach Lane
Sligo
25/07/2026: We arrived in Sligo late in the afternoon on a monday, and landed in this lovely place. Despite only having the bar menu available on a monday, there was a rich variety of options and great food!
We loved the homemade bread, that also had a gluten-free option. The food was delicious, we had pasta, burgers and a tenderloin steak. The steak was ordered medium rare, but served well-done.
The staff were super friendly and welcoming, they even let us withdraw some cash to pay for the parking nearby.
07/07/2026: The bread is to die for! I would highly recommend. My partner is gluten intolerant and the gluten free version of their home made bread is incredible for a gluten free bread.
He had the veggie nachos and it was very under whelming, very plain. Mash was okay. I had the seafood pie and it was good. Fish was good quality - I didn't expect bones in the fish so be careful (but that doesn't impact my rating, I would just have liked to be warned). Staff was lovely

The Driftwood
Rosses point
02/05/2026: Our one-night stay in room 6 was very pleasant. We did also enjoy the dinner at the restaurant — the burgers were decent, and the waterfront view was truly beautiful. The quirky artwork felt like a cherry on top.
30/04/2026: This review is about the Driftwood's restaurant/bar:
We had a light lunch here and sat outside with great views of Sligo Bay and Knocknarea in the distance. The sandwiches were delicious and the waiter deserved a medal for coping with a large group of hikers who arrived unannounced. During low season (up until the beginning of May), they only open for lunch from Thursday to Sunday. Highly recommended.

Hooked
Sligo
23/07/2026: Food is really not great. Chicken is over cooked and very dry. Fish and chips were just okay. We’ve had better here in Ireland. Disappointed after seeing all the blogs about this place. They clearly pay for a lot of publicity. I wouldn’t go back.
21/07/2026: Not very sure where all the awards from, we have been eating at so many restaurants and this is by far one of the worst. The children chicken tenders are not too bad hence the 2 stars but I got bang bang chicken salad and my husband got the pork belly and I had to say to hardest chicken I ever taste, maybe that's why it's called bang bang. The taste is not too bad but the texture is just so hard to chew, the fries are not great either. I left half of my dish and was so disappointed

Hargadon Bros
Sligo
11/07/2026: The food at Hargadon Bros was genuinely delicious. I had the fish and chips and my girlfriend had the burger with avocado, and we’d have no complaints on that front. Unfortunately, the service let the experience down. We were seated in a nook to the left of the room, which was cosy enough but seemed to leave us invisible to the staff, and getting attention took real effort throughout the evening.
The low point was dessert: after flagging down a waitress, we ordered and were brought two spoons - but the dessert itself never came. After waiting 20 minutes, I gave up and went looking for someone to bring the bill instead. A waiter did notice the spoons on our table and asked if we’d ordered dessert, but by then we no longer wanted it.
Lovely food, but the service needs attention - especially for tables tucked out of sight.
07/07/2026: We arrived naively on a Saturday night when they were very busy and we could not get a table. Most places would say no and that be it. But the extremely nice hostess walked us outside and gave us great recommendations for other places to try. She took the time and effort even thought they were busy inside. You can best believe that we will be coming back here on our next trip and will remember to make a booking here due to their super nice staff and because the food smelled amazing!
