12/07/2025: A nice place to have some food, popped in on the way back home from Bundoran. It was pretty busy, your order shows up on the screen when ready to pick up but when you go to the counter it's not actually ready which made some clients confused, keep in mind it was busy! Overall a nice setting, love the seating area outside, it's really nice when the weather is good to enjoy fresh air and eat. Would recommend!

10/07/2025: What a disappointment. We are here with a tour group and the dinner service was just ridiculous. Untrained, unprofessional, inefficient, and unmotivated. The room- small, which is okay as we understand this can be the case in European hotels, but this is next level. Paper bath mats- really? And the straw that broke the camel's back- flood lights come on, directly into our room from the roof! They told us to close the curtains, but it's so hot with no AC, and the little bit of air from the window is now blocked from the drapes. Ugh. Not happy.

09/06/2025: Great staff, good location in Sligo town. Parking was tight sometimes. Food and room were good. Overall a lovely stay.

03/07/2025: Absolutely delicious, great prices and you can sit in. I went from arriving to having the food on my table in 5 minutes. Very nice staff every single time. 100% recommend

03/07/2025: Food was delicious! Their chicken cheese rolls are so yummy and they have the most delicious shredded chicken I've ever had! Service is quick and the staff are all so lovely :))

26/07/2025: Used to love coming here until it was purchased recently. Made it a completely different pub. Ridiculous music ever Friday and Saturday coming out of the bar into the lounge and you can’t even hear the person beside you all the out in the lounge. Prices of drinks rose for no reason. Not what Ashbourne wants or needs - leave it alone :) Should’ve bought another pub in the town

15/07/2025: Under new ownership and it appears that the only thing they did was to put the prices up. We were heading into Dublin and decided to pop in for a pint or two, and then catch a later bus, as I had not had a chance to visit since the new ownership. I did not notice any changes since the new owners took over, bar Lockey is no longer behind the bar. We ordered two pints of Moretti lager and we were charged 15 Euro for them. My cousin nearly fell off his stool when he saw what I was being charged. At least we got the dearest pints out of the way quickly, as the bars on Thomas Street all charged us less. We even ended up paying less clubbing in The George after midnight. They charged us 7.20 a pint of Moretti. It's a bit mad that a pub in Ashbourne, that hasn't been renovated in such a long time, would be dearer than all the bars we visited on Thomas Street, as well as a city center night club.

01/06/2025: Very bad food avoid. Food ... Was Not what was ordered. 2x chicken (fillet) bacon and cheese and toppings 2x curry cheese coleslaw chips! If only I could add a picture.. What I got,was a dryed out 2x chicken burger.."not fillet"cheap chicken ..no bacon no cheese..and something green a slimy maybe lettuce at some time in it life..but not even burger sauce no dressing...only a big lump of coleslaw on both .. Shocking... To see... Both burger's completely uneatable..... Curry chips....no comment! No customer care..out of sight out of mind... Next time il be spending my 30 euro elsewhere... Food will be returned tomorrow when re opened

31/05/2025: I Just Get The Fish and Chips Ordered The Staff Was So Kind It Opens From 4pm Until 3 30am 7 Days A Week Hopefully It Has A Re-Turn Deposit Scheme. I Would Visit Here Again

06/07/2025: Food was uncooked got food poisoning the next day and couldnt stop throwing up , the chicken tenders looked raw chicken breast was CREMATED. Would not order here

21/06/2025: Ordered a Chicken Wrap and an Oreo Milkshake. Wrap was a bit too small to my liking, but tasty, chicken was crispy. Overall, pleasant experience. I will deduct points for a broken sink in bathroom area

09/03/2025: The place is filthy !! The front seat has a build of dirt that must be there years, my 3 year old needed to go to the toilet and when he saw the state they were in he wouldn't use them, not that I would of let him!. We got food ( before we saw how bad the place was) ... cheap freezer chips and soggy chicken with drinks was not worth €37!!!!! I hadn't been in years, very disappointing to see it get so bad.

22/07/2025: I recently visited this restaurant and ordered the dal. Let me tell you — it was spicy. And not just “a bit of a kick” spicy, but the kind of spicy that burns on the way in… and on the way out. I love dal. I know it’s not necessarily meant to be spicy — it can be flavorful, aromatic, comforting. But this one? It came with fire, and no warning. They really should have mentioned it on the menu. A spicy memory, in every sense.

07/07/2025: I enjoy the food but not the beverages. I ordered a cappuccino which was very weak and tasteless. Was advised they use medium roast. Tea also bland. Not to my taste but the cakes and scones are good.

24/06/2025: Food was very nice. However, when they're not even half full, being told you can't sit on a table for four, just because you're two and having to sit with your back to the lovely view outside is very annoying. Especially as no fours even came in to what was an almost empty cafe by the time we left. Also, if you're going to wisper about your customers to other staff, try to be a little more discreet next time.

19/02/2025: In: I didn’t eat there because I went there at 10pm and it was really dancing by there. This is a good place if you want to dance with your friends. Penalty: the women toilets can be hard to access. That’s all. A logical penalty when you see how many people there are. It's also sad that it closes at midnight. En: I didn't eat it so I can't rate the food. I got there at 10 p.m. and there was already a lot of dancing. also the bar closes at midnight. which is very early compared to France. It's a good bar if you want to dance with your friends but the toilets are difficult to access. Which is normal when you see the world out there.

17/06/2025: The Garavogue Bar never disappoints. There's always a great buzz, whether it's live music, a DJ, or a packed student night. Tuesdays during the college year are my favorite – they play proper techno and house, and the vibe is unreal. The staff are friendly, the cocktails are solid, and it's the kind of place you keep coming back to. One of my top spots in Sligo, hands down.

16/06/2025: The bouncers — both the bearded one and the older man — are aggressive, and the bar staff are completely unprofessional. The manager is just as bad, showing no regard for customers. They don’t respect the people who come in or even the promotions they advertise themselves. This place shouldn’t be allowed to stay open.
