The best restaurants in Westmeath

02/10/2025: Our organisation booked a conference room in this hotel. Everything was superb, starting from dealing with Conor who looked after me in terms of booking to the welcome on the day and amenities. Thank you.

04/08/2025: Didn't stay at the hotel as I was just there for a family meal.Service was excellent and food was very good.However after having one of the worst pints of Guinness I have had I returned it and got a smithicks which was just as bad.Complained to barman and he said wasn't much he could do about it.Wont be back

28/09/2025: Food, service and atmosphere were okay, but overall the price didn’t match the quality. Staff could pay a bit more attention to the room — for example, we asked for the bill but had to remind them again before we could pay. An average experience.

08/09/2025: Pleasant staff. Menu has a large range of options and choices. Was there on a Thursday evening in August, and was very quiet.

18/09/2025: The staffs are not polite, she spilled milk on my jacket, she did not apologise, they said that customers who came in crowds could sit by the window, but 2 people were sitting there, so when I said this, they remained unanswered, they should learn how to treat the customer, I liked the americano coffees.

07/09/2025: Love the coffee here. Staff are lovely. Would really recommend the pastries / sweet treats, especially the cookie croissants.

17/08/2025: Perfect place to stop on the way to sligo/Carrick from Dublin. Only just off the N4. Worth the small detour. Now I have found this place, I won't be going anywhere else! I ordered the Tortilla's from the special menu. Delicious! So filling. Came to the table within 10 mins of ordering. Fab!

31/10/2025: We popped in here on our way to Galway for some food and coffees. It's a very strange set up as you have to order your drinks and food separately. It makes absolutely no sense to order drinks and pay for them then to move to the other end of the shop to order food and pay again. I'm not sure what their thinking is here. We ordered 3 different dishes. I ordered a sausage roll with salads. The ones on display were quite big and looked lovely. My sons sandwich arrived with a very skinny sausage roll on the side. I asked was it mine and the server seemed confused. She brought me a plate to put the sausage roll on and gave me some wedges as she knew the order was wrong. She was lovely and I appreciated her bringing the wedges. The young lad who took our order seemed like he wasn't listening and our order pretty much proved that. I won't be returning. It was all too messy.

24/10/2025: I was served on Thursday 23th october around 5:20pm by the WORST barista ever. She did not say hi nor thank you, didn’t make eye contact with us and of course, not a smile. As a customer, you shouldn’t feel like you’re bothering the staff and yet she made me feel like I was NOT wanted there despite being nice and polite to her (which should be her job tbh). The coffee and the pastries were really overpriced. Not coming back, especially if that barista is there.

12/07/2025: I was visiting Ireland and staying in Moate whilst recerching my ancestry. I came across P Eagans bar whilst out with my dog. Paul and his staff welcomed me with such warmth and dedication. I have no reservations on recommendations for this wonderful traditional Irish pub. Thankyou Paul & staff for making my stay and very rememberable. Paul & Annie.

18/08/2025: The hotel is located next to a popular golf course and is therefore very busy. There are many families with children. The restaurant's offerings are rather limited, and the prices are, in my opinion, far too high. A ribeye steak cost €38.00. You have to walk through the restaurant to get to the outdoor pool in your bathrobe.

17/08/2025: AM ONLY REVIEWING WALK IN SERVICE. Once again came in today and the bar service is absolutely non existent. One person behind the inside and outside bar and very slow servicing. Other customers seemed as agitated as me. For such a fine establishment this very important part is letting it down over and over. Table service was fine.

25/05/2025: Love Peader's Bar, staff and customers are always so friendly! Have stopped here twice over the years mainly because they are pet friendly and have a massive beer garden out the back. Can't wait to come back.
