10/08/2026: We visited P. Egan while spending the day in Moate, as we knew Michael Jackson had visited this pub during his time living in Ireland. From the moment we arrived, Paul welcomed us with such warmth and kindness and made our visit feel truly special. It’s a beautiful traditional Irish pub, full of character, history and a lovely atmosphere. We’re so grateful to Paul for taking the time to talk with us, share stories and make us feel so welcome. Being there already had a very special meaning for us because of Michael, but Paul’s kindness made the experience even more memorable. Thank you so much, Paul. We will definitely come back! ♥️

04/08/2026: Absolutely fantastic experience at The Cloughan Inn! From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel genuinely welcome by the friendly and professional staff. The atmosphere is warm, relaxed and perfect for enjoying a meal with family or friends. The food was outstanding – fresh, beautifully presented and full of flavour. The portions were generous and every dish was cooked to perfection. It's clear that great care goes into both the quality of the ingredients and the preparation of the meals. The service was excellent throughout our visit. The staff were attentive, polite and always happy to help, making sure everything was just right without being intrusive. The restaurant is spotlessly clean, comfortable and offers excellent value for money. It is easy to see why so many people recommend this place. If you're looking for delicious home-cooked food, generous portions and genuine Irish hospitality, The Cloughan Inn is definitely worth a visit. We will certainly be returning and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Mullingar or travelling through Westmeath. Thank you to the entire team for a wonderful dining experience!

21/06/2026: One of the best places for Pizza in Athlone. If not the best. Too yummy be it any pizza. Have it hot. And preferably there to experience the wholesome experience. Very courteous and professional folks. Kind too. The chef once gave me a cook book cos I was the only guy reading it. Their family packs are crazy deals too.

05/09/2026: Great spot to stop for toilets, food and to give the dog a stretch! Outdoor covered seating to eat with the dog too. Clean toilets and lots of food options.

24/08/2026: Went to this place for bowling. The place accommodates all needs. We were able to spend valuable and interesting time. They accommodated for our needs and I recommend to give it a try when you are around the area no matter who you are with.

07/09/2026: 24hr services, but shop ain’t, even tho its advertised as “24hr Spar”. Just waited 15min there at 3am on way home from airport, no one came to the window?

06/09/2026: Poor customer service, had to return to the counter 3 times as food missing from the order. No apology. Drinks machine is ridiculous. Need to do better.

10/09/2026: Unfortunately turned away at the door due to them being booked for the full evening (arrived at 630pm on a Thursday) including the bar which was completely empty. I wouldn't recommend based on the lack of service or attitude of the gentlemen behind the bar. It may be helpful for them to post their lack of availability on the door or that a reservation is required.

04/09/2026: Huge congratulations to Feargal, Fiona, Molly, Jack and all the team at The Fatted Calf on the move from Athlone to Grogans in Glasson. They’ve done an incredible job. The atmosphere is fantastic — great music, beautiful lighting and a really relaxed buzz. Service was exceptional: warm, knowledgeable and attentive. Most importantly, the food was absolutely outstanding, complemented by an excellent cocktail menu and a superb wine list. The Fatted Calf has always been special, and this feels like a brilliant new chapter. A fantastic addition to Glasson. Congratulations to everyone involved — we had a superb evening and will definitely be back! 👏🥂

25/09/2026: Exceptional food. Four of us stopped for lunch on the way to Galway. Leah was lovely and friendly. Maggie was brilliant, full of information for our onward journey made our day. Perfect service

13/09/2026: Had a lovely lunch at Left Bank on Saturday we had a Cousin reunion, there was six of us, we all enjoyed our Lunch, service and atmosphere was great. Highly recommend restaurant.

21/09/2026: I popped into 2210 Patisserie in Mullingar for the first time today on my lunch break, and honestly, it’s practically impossible to be in bad form when you walk in there! ☕️❤️ The coffee was absolutely gorgeous, but I have to give a special mention to Aaron, who was serving me. Aaron is an absolute breath of fresh air- so positive, enthusiastic, chatty, welcoming and genuinely friendly. You could tell he really enjoys what he does, and that kind of energy is infectious. It’s actually quite rare to walk into somewhere and be greeted with such a warm and genuine energy, and Aaron completely brightened my day. He made what could have just been a quick coffee on my lunch break into a really lovely experience. So, a huge thank you to Aaron for being so lovely and for bringing such a positive atmosphere to the place. You’re a credit to 2210 Patisserie ! 🥰 I’ll definitely be back- for the gorgeous coffee and, of course, to say hello to Aaron! ☕️🥰

28/09/2025: Food, service and atmosphere were okay, but overall the price didn’t match the quality. Staff could pay a bit more attention to the room — for example, we asked for the bill but had to remind them again before we could pay. An average experience.

14/08/2026: Terrible service. Had to clear the plates ourselves, fetch the menus, ask for salt and condiments , wasnt asked if we wanted more drinks (we did but left it), I'm no way shape or form they made us feel welcome or a guest. Food is beyond mediocre and saving grace was the soup, which was delicious. Served with stale bread. Try somewhere else in my opinion.

10/07/2026: Nice overnight stay with dinner package. Hotel was great with views over the shannon and the cathedral across the river. Central location. Enjoyed our stay.

24/08/2026: Food was burnt and senior staff in it are very rude towards customers and younger staff would not go back near again horrible place
