The best restaurants in Westmeath

13/06/2025: Have to give credit to this restaurant. We were a group celebrating a 90th birthday and could not fault any aspect of our visit. The food was delicious, really great menu that caters for everyone, staff were fantastic, could not do enough for us and a really good atmosphere. We have eaten here many times and it always lives up to our high expectations.Well worth a visit. We will be back. Thank you Michelle and staff for a great night and for helping us creat many great memories for our family.

16/02/2025: Went here on a Saturday evening, it was very busy. We were close to a table with 6/8. They were all talking very loud and I could hardly hear my companion. Having said that I would definitely return. It's Family run and so friendly, we were very well looked after. The food was lovely and tasty. My steak was perfect, the best ever. Highly recommend the Motte and Bailey.

01/07/2025: Very busy and service very slow. One kid at out table was really hungry. No errord made to accommodate her. Ie bring her food out first. It was grand for the occasion as a once off. I wouldn't go back.

30/06/2025: Me and my partner got a meal deal out of here earlier and my god it was beautiful! I've had dominos here years ago but was not nearly as nice as today, very impressed with my order the pizza was so nice, fresh and not greasy like other takeaways, wasn't keen on the loaded fries but still wasn't bad.. but the double chocolate caramel cookies my god they were just delicious will definitely be ordering from you again in the future! 10/10

20/06/2025: What a gem! The lovely food is only outdone by the excellent service. The ladies could not do enough for us and were so kind to our baby also. The omelette was delicious and very generous size. The red velvet cake was to die for!! Traditional Irish cafe doing it the right way.

14/06/2025: Perfect lunch spot. I had their special sandwich which had roast beef and horseradish. On the side there was sliced boiled egg, coleslaw, sliced tomatoes and a lovely wee salad. Just perfect mix of everything and felt like a home crafted lunch my mum used to make. And for the love of god, get the millionaires shortbread… the texture was just incredible, the caramel had this amazing level of chew to it, the chocolate on top had these criss-cross scores that meant when you bit into it, the chocolate would easily crack and wouldn’t ooze caramel out the sizes, the shortbread base was firm which just added to the chewy denseness of the whole thing. 19/05/2025: My friend and myself visited here while we were in Mullingar. It is great bar. The staff are very friendly and very good at their jobs. On Saturday night they had live music. In the front bar they had a man singing and out the back there was a band both were excellent.

15/07/2025: Hate this place over priced and you will regularly find out of date items on the shelves/fridges and some not out of date by only a day or two, many items can be out of date by 3 or 4 days. Staff are so rude it is almost as if they are trained to be.

27/06/2025: Nice staff, good food and not too expensive. But the QR code / website system for ordering is awful. There’s also a large touchscreen by the counter where you can order. But its more like McDonald’s than a nice town centre cafe. The fact that it automatically adds a 20% tip is particularly annoying. If the waiting staff could take the orders instead of a computer, it would be a 5 star cafe. But it’s badly let down by the IT.

22/06/2025: Stopped off on the way from Dublin to Galway and found this place to be a real gem. I had the Indian Street Food Burger and my friend had the Buddha Bowl. Everything was fresh, homemade (even the coleslaw!), and full of flavour. The staff were helpful and attentive. On leaving we got ice-cream comes with raspberry sauce and even that was superb. Will definitely come back on our return journey.

27/05/2025: I got the Ultimate Stuffed Cookie Box delivered. The cookies were absolutely amazing, they were generously stuffed and the flavour profiles were so unique. You can't find these kind of cookies anywhere else in Ireland. 10/10, would highly recommend.
