23/09/2025: Nothing to say top place in towm great staff cosy and amazing food and coffee well done to all staff and management. I'm a regular visitor and a local my favourite place in towm.

31/01/2026: Ilia is our go to spot in Mullingar! Great food, nice chill atmosphere very reasonable price & lovely staff! Can confidently say i’ve never been disappointed would definitely recommend!!

22/11/2025: UPDATE: Sister Trish and cleaner Mother has left Biddy’s Pub “ We are Fed Up of his Greed and Bullying “ So who is telling Lies Now readers .. Firstly I would like to state I have been frequenting Biddy’s O’Dowd’s Bar Athlone since Opening in 2022 a Couple of Times a Week during that time I rarely got a bad pint of Guinness their was NO PROBLEM replacing a pint if this happened but in Recent Times Bad Pints of Guinness were a Regular Occurrences at Biddy’s Bar Regrettably .. GREED is a TERRIBLE THING if your in the PUB / CATERING BUSINESS or any business serving the Unsuspecting Citizens of Ireland and Visitors DEADLY PRODUCTS … I have always Promoted Biddy’s O’Dowd’s or similar Business that is Selling Good Food or Drinkable Products I also frequented the old bar in the late 1980’s so I have the Experience of GOOD and BAD products like Guinness for FORTY YEARS which in anyone’s books Qualifies Me to WRITE this Review and Hurts Me at the same Time .. If Irish Citizens the Public Cannot Trust Publicans Luckily they are Rare around Athlone anyway ….. I also was SUBJECTED to Verbal Abuse by Chris Hewitt Licence Owner when he PHONED ME like a Creature POSSESSED … I hung Up on him … I received a Superb Pint of Guinness when i entered the Pub it was Very Quiet and I was the only customer drinking the Good Stuff “Guinness Draught” everyone else was drinking Beers / Larger which should raised a Red Flag for me ….. I complemented Trish Owners sister Chris on the Great Quality of the Guinness as I do Everywhere from Ireland to Portugal and further where I get a Great Pint of Guinness i ordered a Second Pint of Guinness The Second Pint was as different as Chalk and Cheese with Brown / Black Bubbles Accross its Head I won’t say Guinness as it wasn’t Guinness but Slops … How this Transformation from My First Superb Pint of Guinness to the Second Pint is IMPOSSIBLE unless the Barrel was finished and Trish replaced the Guinness Barrel with a New Barrel which was OFF also and could be Replaced with another New Keg if that is what Happened or the Original barrel was tampered with … I made Trish aware of the Problem and she Replied “ it might be the Glasses !!!! “ as she hadn’t changed the Guinness Barrel I left it with her I ordered a Replacement Pint of Guinness Trish but it was EXACTLY the Same UNDRINKABLE I made Trish aware again … New Customer entered the pub and Ordered a Pint of Guinness like a Shot Trish ran again down the stairse to the Cellar .. Trish visits the Cellar Very Frequently .. When Trish pulled and served a Pint of Guinness to the New Customer it looked Exactly the Same as my First Pint of Guinness which was a TOTAL Transformation ..NOT … I pointed the Guinness Transformation to Trish but got NO REPLY .. In fact I got the COLD SHOULDER !!!! I then Left Biddy as I was made UNWELCOME by Trish’s Attitude towards ME.. I got a Drinkable Pint of Good Guinness which I had No Problem obtaining in Athlone ….. I sent Trish a Picture of a “GOOD PINT” of GUINNESS which I had NO PROBLEM obtaining here in Athlone .. Less than an Hour I was Subjected to a phone call from Chris Hewitt Trish’s brother a TERRAIN of ABUSE ROARING DOWN the PHONE at ME HE was like a Creature POSSESSED .. I would also state their my be a Breach of the Data Protection Act 2018 as Chris Hewitt stated that he would make sure that I wouldn’t get served in any Pub an Athlone as he was printing my picture off Pub CCTV “ as I speak and sending it to them “ He also BARRED ME .. This is All Over me making Trish his sister aware of a Bad Pint of Guinness which can happen in any Pub .. I looked on Trish as a Friend telling her Personal Private stuff I thought we were Friends or so she made Out by Poisoning Me !!!! I drank in that old pub in the late 1980’s which has been closed for years that’s showing my age I was drinking here before Chris Hewitt was Born !! So I Hope Chris and Trish aren’t showing a different Side of themselves by being AGEST to their Customers !! They Definitely shown the Very Worst side of themselves that Morning Greed Terrible Thing

20/08/2025: This place is the best pub in town. Think Cheers, but in Ireland. The bartender and locals were super friendly, telling jokes and giving local recommendations. We spent a lot of time here and plan to go back later tonight after dinner. Would HIGHLY recommend coming here for a pint or chocolate espresso martini.

27/02/2026: Hi! I'd like to contact the hotel owner. An unpleasant situation has arisen. On January 28th, I suffered an industrial injury at work and was unable to work for several days. Because of this, David Stewart fired me from my job. He also didn’t report the injury to the HSA. I am now unemployed.

12/11/2025: Good old fashioned bar with excellent Guinness. Friendly owner and staff. Comfortable lounge area and has bar full of characters.

14/06/2025: This is a cracking place. I visited twice and tried a couple of different breakfasts. Generous portions, excellent cooking and attentive service. I'll be back the next time I'm passing through the town.

07/06/2025: The best restaurant in Kinnegad. Real Irish food and a family restaurant vibe. A place where you can meet the town and fill your belly. Portions usually are generous and I really love their version of the Irish stew. I hope they'll open the back patio again this summer.

23/10/2025: Upon arrival, I froze to see grubby tables mot cleared and floors under tables not addressed. I proceeded to the food on offer where 2 rather dirty teatowels lay. I left. Pity because it could be a good place.

05/10/2025: Really tasty, healthy food. We all enjoyed. Lovely staff who are flying around. Would definitely come back. We live in Navan and nothing around us like this. Highly recommend!

29/03/2026: Extremely disappointed with this hotel. I asked on check in if there was any issues with noise on our allocated rooms. I was told no that it shouldn't be a problem and that it was a nice quiet location and that it would only be people heading to the leisure centre. On the second night, however there was thumping noise in the room from about 9 pm. I called down to reception and was told by the night porter "what do you want me to do? There's a GAA thing on tonight and that he was just the night porter?" I informed him that i'd expect a less flippant response. He then informed me that he had been told to offer ear phones to anyone that complained. Very disappointing customer service. Besides that the hotel is looking a bit tired, with better days seen. I would offer 0 stars if that was an option.

11/03/2026: Great pub, excellent food & perfect service. Catered last minute for a larger group so thanks. Food was much better than expected, not pub grub at all! Very high standard of food & presentation. Reasonably priced too, however worth the extra if looking for a night out.

01/12/2025: The WORKS breakfast was as good a full Irish as I have had in long time. Good meaty sausages and the pudding cut good and thick, not penny thin like you get most places. Very helpfull staff too. Spot on!!! I will definalty be back ..

28/12/2025: This SuperValu is a well-sized and well-stocked store, offering a wide variety of food products and brands to suit a range of preferences. The in-store butcher counter is of a particularly high standard, complemented by an excellent selection of independent brands and freshly prepared, store-made foods and meals. The overall quality and range available contribute to a very positive shopping experience. The store is a popular and busy location, and during peak times the car park can become somewhat congested due to limited space. Aside from this, the store is well managed and provides a consistently high standard of service and product offering.

30/12/2025: This restaurant was great find for breakfast/ brunch. Great menu and nice to try something different than the fry we went in for. Had amazing ham hock and creamy mushroom with poached eggs which was amazing and the service was great. All staff so friendly and we had the pleasure of tasting some of the owners sons chocolates (Bon Chocolatiers). Amazing and I left after buying a selection. Will definitely be back.

17/11/2025: One of my favorite restaurants during vacation. It was just recently renovated, and has a wonderful view of the river. The food was incredible and the entire wait staff was very lovely and sociable. They gave us free samples of chocolate that the owners’ son made, which was great! May have to visit again in the future. I ordered the Spanish fried egg with chorizo and potato hash, the shakshuka, and the bread and butter pudding.
