25/08/2025: Beer prices not bad....Great live music by a local band. Main singer and guitar player is partly blind but what an enterainer....well monitored music venue with discreet security. All in all I'd recommend.

13/07/2025: We decided at last minute not to stay and get back to the Hotel down the main road, as we did not like the way we were treated, we were waiting for a friend, whe we quitted waiting we told one of their staff that we would go ahead and have breakfast and we wound not keep waiting for our friend, they said it was OK, but another couple arrived after we were told they will get us a table, they got a table straight away, we were treated as second level people. Never again.

05/08/2025: All great and 5 star food, service and climate. European food with a Turkish accent. Highly recommended. We will come back.

29/07/2025: Highly recommend Esquires for food, drinks and friendly service. I've had both breakfast and lunch here on various occasions and I've never been disappointed. Toasted foccacia sandwich is particularly good! Also pancakes are fab here!

10/08/2025: The Savoury Fair Athlone an Absolute Pleasure to Visit you can Feed me anytime…… I visited Savoury Fair Athlone for the first time and it was an Absolute Pleasure to have my Breakfast in this Amazing Restaurant My usual place is The Poppy Fields but they had a fire in their kitchens so it’s out of order for the foreseeable….. The Savoury Fair Restaurant Food Wise and the different platters available is Excellent everything to suit everyone’s Palate and the Hygiene was 100% all round The Quality / Service and the Floor Staff were Absolutely Fantastic coming around asking if I wanted any more Breakfast / Top Up my Hot Strong Tea which I ordered or more Toast Their is Two Floors Ground and First Floor Fully Serviced by the Floor Staff The First Floor looks over the Entrance to the Cafe through an Atrium great idea The Crockery is So Quaint and Colourful ( pics attached ) This Restaurant has Everything Humanly Possible to Delight Everyone who enters the premises Keep Up the Fantastic Work Guys We all want to see The Poppy Fields Resturant opening as soon as possible as it is also a Fantastic Eating Tradition here in Athlone So I am sure they will come back better if possible as soon as possible Good Luck The Poppy Fields looking forward to eating with you soon ….

24/08/2025: Place was very busy on a Sunday afternoon, staff were excellent, pleasant and welcoming. Food and Drink was perfect and value for money. Would highly recommend 👌

20/08/2025: Had breakfast here a few times, always excellent, good product used Aug2025 had lunch, if you're hungry or have a big appetite this is the place to go, food is not only piled on to the plate but it's delicious, I had the lasagne and my wife had the fish and chips

06/07/2025: Went here last Friday evening with 2 friends for the Friday evening aperetivo. Had a selection of italian foods that you wouldn't normally experience in an Italian restaurant along with a selection of bruschetta. A lovely glass of nero d'avola. Very generous selection of food , great flavour and great value. We will be back!

02/07/2025: The pizza is just chef's kiss. I'm vegan and delighted to see 2 vegan options for the menu (marinara and vegan). It's a weekly appointment I can't miss out. The coffee is authentic Italian espresso. And the staff couldn't be lovelier! The very best to Chiara, Roberto and their family!

05/09/2025: We stopped here on our way to Carlingford because we wanted to watch an Arsenal football game. They don’t have sky but we decided to forego the game and order food. We ordered the Super burger. It’s a chef special. This HUGE plate of food came out. A burger with homemade onion rings layered on top with homemade fries. Luckily we were splitting the burger because it had to be an 6lb beautiful piece of beef. The usual toppings, including a specular tasting type of saucy jam. The burger was a full on chunk of the most flavorful beef that was perfectly cooked. Now I usually like my burger medium rare because overcooking takes from the taste. This burger was so soft and tender and it’s the best burger we’ve ever eaten. The staff were very friendly and we thanked the chef on the way out.

14/06/2025: This is a cracking place. I visited twice and tried a couple of different breakfasts. Generous portions, excellent cooking and attentive service. I'll be back the next time I'm passing through the town.

07/06/2025: The best restaurant in Kinnegad. Real Irish food and a family restaurant vibe. A place where you can meet the town and fill your belly. Portions usually are generous and I really love their version of the Irish stew. I hope they'll open the back patio again this summer.

23/08/2025: Great to sit in but my god the JUST Eat prices are insane. 19 euro for a Greek salad?? 27 for Goujons and chips?? Madness, a Greek salad and a goujon can only taste so good and I don't think it could ever be that good, especially delivered .
