Taste of Italy

11/10/2025: The Taste of Italy was a delightful and delicious surprise. I had the pistachio croissant and my husband had the chocolate croissant. We kick ourselves for not taking some to-go and for not tasting the organic apple pie. Since we were headed out of town, we missed their lunch special, but I'm certain it's fabulous.
The hosts were warm and friendly.
Highly recommend!
04/10/2025: This Italian has just replaced my favourite Italian restaurant in London. Might not be local but worth travelling for.

28/10/2025: The staff were kind helpful and gave us a table as soon as possible.The atmosphere was great there were posters on the wall and lots of cool decorations.The food was so good it was delicious I highly recommend👍.

05/10/2025: Amazing place, it has been a long time that I didn’t enjoy such delicious meal! Staff is really lovely too.
07/09/2025: Never thought I’d see the day when Arklow served me something that wasn’t beige and deep-fried, but LOCO Grocer has pulled off the impossible. Their avocado toast? Genuinely delicious. In Arklow terms, that’s basically Michelin-starred.
And the chocolate cake… to die for. Which is fitting, because I nearly keeled over from the shock of finding world class cake in Arklow, of all places. If you told me I’d eat something here that didn’t come out of a chip bag or a deli counter, I’d have laughed in your face.
So yeah, hats off to LOCO Grocer. Who knew Arklow’s biggest attraction wouldn’t be the road out of it, but a slice of chocolate cake?

We received such a wonderfully warm welcome and were so well dressed! The tea and the delicacies arranged on a tiered stand were excellent, and they asked how we were. At here as a couple one evening whilst on holiday.
The restaurant is massive and there’s loads of staff. Service was good. Everywhere was clean. There’s a good choice of foods.
Prawn crackers and wontons to start were good. Mains were Pad Thai and chicken massaman. Both dishes were underseasoned. The pad Thai was greasy and lacked the bold sweet/sour/umami mix. The massaman lacked any warmth at all and no hint of fish sauce either. Bland.
Prices were reasonable. Place was very busy. Perhaps we were just unlucky?

18/10/2025: Brilliant place staff and owner so friendly and helpful rooms were clean just small and we had a big case should have taken 2 small cases as stairs is narrow but a lovely homely place to stay very central to everything
12/10/2025: The hotel bar is just awful. The staff doesn't know how to make a cocktail. And when we asked to replace it, they refused. Train your bartenders to do their job. I don't recommend it to anyone.
