07/09/2025: I’ve been to Golden Bites today, the new shop on Washington Street, with my young son. We were warmly welcomed, and the atmosphere was very pleasant and aesthetically nice. However, I do have some concerns. When placing my order, I made it very clear that my cappuccino should be made with oat milk (for health reasons I cannot consume dairy). Unfortunately, I received a cappuccino with regular milk. I didn’t complain at the time because I’m not the type of person who likes to create conflict at an establishment, but I mentioned twice at the counter that it should be with oat milk. Another point: I’m not sure if I was charged for two portions of grilled buttered bread since I received four slices, but I only ordered one portion, which I believe should be two slices. I also wasn’t given a receipt, so I couldn’t verify the charge. Once again, the environment is very pleasant, and the staff was kind and attentive. However, we have already experienced issues with delivery orders in the past — missing items, wrong orders, etc. I expected that visiting in person would be different, but unfortunately, the same kind of issues happened. This makes it a little difficult to want to return. I truly hope this is just something temporary due to the new location

21/05/2026: Excellent Cafe in Douglas. Staff is friendly. Customer service is excellent. Food is amazing. The cafe ambience is great as well.

17/05/2026: Love this place. It’s become a regular for breakfast or lunch every time I stay in Douglas. They have plenty of dairy free options and can adapt anything without making a fuss. Service is friendly and fast.

08/06/2026: I went to Costa Coffee thismorning as i do most days as i work nearby and I was apauled at the lack of respect the head staff had for the queue of customers and her own staff. I was queuing up and blatantly ignored after being looked at a couple of times… so what seemed to be the head staff member on the shift could give out to one of the other staff members about not cleaning under a machine repeatedly giving out saying “you tried” in a sarcastic tone. I thought this could have been done in a more professional way if the lady in charge had a problem she should have taken staff member out the back however instead she just continued to give out infront of a line of customers. I felt terrible for this girl. I understand some people need to be told what to do but this was just abuse of power in my opinion

28/03/2026: I am lactose intolerant, I ordered soya late, requesting it three times and was served cows milk. I normally check, but was distracted by my poorly daughter. I have a cold and so drank almost half before realising it wasn't soya. The lady who served me did not seemed bothered at all, when I told her. I ordered a vanilla matcha and that also didn't have the vanilla added. Wat h your orders carefully if ordering here!

12/07/2026: Food is good but they never answer the phone when I ring ahead to order and this is annoying . Leaving a low star review in hopes that the manager sees and gives them some cop on

01/06/2026: We had Chicken Pad Thai. They made me a gluten-free version. Plus, there's gluten-free soy sauce and sriracha on every table. The flavor was incredible, with fresh ingredients. Water pitchers and glasses are available free of charge. The service is fast and attentive. I would definitely go back.

03/03/2026: My partner and I have been coming here regularly and it never disappoints. The food is very reasonably priced and always super tasty. The staff are attentive, friendly, and create a welcoming atmosphere every time even if super busy. Our special compliments go to the store manager, Jay. He consistently notices the small details that others might overlook and ensures that everything runs smoothly while maintaining a warm and organized environment. His attentiveness and natural leadership are clearly reflected in the team’s attitude. What stands out most is his thoughtful and composed approach. He leads with confidence, fairness, and genuine care — qualities that are valuable. One can see that he takes pride in his work and sets high standards, not through pressure, but through example. It’s truly refreshing to see such professionalism combined with authenticity. Jay is a real asset, and his dedication does not go unnoticed. Thanks again Ramen.

09/07/2026: Just stopped for a tea .and the place is rocking 😎 the food looks beautiful presented on top of the counter .the staff are all happy and doing a great job..wil be back definitely..welldone

27/06/2026: Went there for breakfast and was happy with the food. If you're looking for a typical good Irish breakfast this is a good stop.

13/05/2026: Chicken frie rice was very poor, it was boiled rice, a lot of peas and carrots and a few little bits of chicken. Didn't touch a wok in my opinion. 3 in 1 was ok. The ribs were a good portion and the sauce was nice.

04/05/2026: Got the Spicy Salt and Chilli Chips today and they had sugar on them, which I wasn’t expecting. When I called, I was told that’s just how they make them. I said it wasn’t for me and I wouldn't order that again, but got told, 'I could find them somewhere else, thanks' and she hung up the phone. Rang back and spoke with who I believe may have been the owner/manager and was told I basically shouldn’t be calling to complain, thats how they make them for the last 25 years . He felt she wasn't rude in how she handled the call as he was next to her. Fair enough if that’s their recipe, but the way it was handled wasn’t great.

23/07/2025: Got served elastic and rubbery chicken. curry was just fine. Atmosphere is not hygienic at all and so does the food. Would never recommend.

07/04/2026: overpriced… Walked in and it wasn’t that busy yet the tables are dirty and haven’t been cleared in what seems like a long time. The tables are too high for the benches it’s uncomfortable whether you are eating or working on your laptop. The place doesn’t feel clean in general… I’d say they are lacking staff.

08/03/2026: Had green smoothie and stuffed croissant which were quite good. Came in during weekend afternoon could be crowded and busy, at some point music was loud with people talking at the same time.

23/05/2026: I have ordered often but never again. Pizza burnt and chicken wings raw. I do not recommend!!!

01/05/2026: Ordered a large pizza, got toppings only in the inner pizza the outer pizza is was mostly empty with just cheese. Asked dominos spices but it was full of salt? I don't know how they managed to make pizza this bad. Made me appreciate the dominos in my small town so much more.

22/05/2026: Has been my regular for a few years now. Never let me down. Food is always amazimg and delivery is fast!

06/05/2026: Charged for an order on their website which they claimed not to have received. They didn't seem particularly concerned, had to get a refund from yoyo and wait 3-5 days. Curry house didn't seem to be aware they have an online ordering system.

31/07/2026: I Ordered pizza as per the meal deal advertised outside the door. 2 x medium pizzas. I also ordered dips and was charged €25. When I got the receipt, I saw that the dips were free but they charged me €25 for the €21.95 deal. I asked the girl that served me and she said that deal wasn't available anymore. But the sign outside the door said it was? It's €3, not a big deal, but it's clearly advertised as €21.95. I got no satisfaction from the girl that served me, I have emailed directly and no one has been able to answer me as to why this happened.

28/03/2026: After a slight issue with the pizza we ordered, we received stellar customer service to remedy the issue and were delighted with the support we received from the staff today. The food itself was exactly what we would expect from Four Star but tasted all the better because of the brilliant experience. Will be returning!
