allta
Dublin
07/09/2025: Exceptional food & service. Great atmosphere too.
Such a fantastic tasting menu- already looking forward to planning our next visit!
11/08/2025: Allta is my fave spot to dine in Dublin. I visited the place so many times over the years and it never disappoints! The creativity of Niall - owner and head chef is beyond anything! And it’s not only food which is excellent! Always made with care to ingredients and season. With attention to the smallest detail. Flavours combinations are very often bold and excellent in contrast to so many places which are quite plain. We dined with allta at home during covid, in Slane Castle, in the parking, in their permanent venue in Docklands and in Casteruddery farm and enjoyed the experience every single time. And most of all you see love to hospitality and work in every single member of staff. Knowledgable, inspiring and passionate sommeliers, waiters, chefs. Always a pleasure to visit them!

Botanical Garden Bar
Dublin
10/08/2025: Thai chicken burger was delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful. Music was quite loud but was turned down a notch on request. Smoking area could be improved.
25/06/2025: Came here for a private event following a wedding and it was simply fantastic! Great place that ended up accommodating 60+ people. Food was BBQ style and made to order. Drinks were reasonably priced for Dublin (can be quite pricey!) however had a great selection of lagers and spirits. Had live entertainment which was not overwhelming followed by opening up of a small dance floor. Definitely a great place for a small gathering!

Maldron Hotel Tallaght
Dublin
26/12/2025: Two night stay. Standard room which was clean, warm and large enough to accommodate two. Breakfast included in rate.
Reception and dining room staff all exceptionally courteous and helpful. Good variety of hot and cold dishes available for breakfast. Dinner menu is standard fare @ thirty euro per plate. Quiet atmosphere given the time of year. Few guests. Situated on the busy N81 road in Tallaght so some might find the traffic noise intrusive. Ample compliment ary car parking available. One of the few hotels that remain open for the entire Christmas period in Ireland, seemingly. Only one negative observation - the lighting in both the bedroom and the restaurant area is rather dim and makes reading difficult.
Very good value for money overall. Three star hotel but a four star guest experience.
20/12/2025: Bathrooms need updating.
Balcony should not be locked

The Rolling Stoves
Dublin
19/10/2025: Not very impressed when seeing one of the staff members getting money from a customer (coins) having gloves on counting before taking them away to the cash register and back touching the food afterwards!
26/09/2025: Deko at the till is a 5 star in itself, do yourself a favour and order smashed patty fries with Cajun sauce, if you’re getting a burger get a pepper sauce smash.
Delicious guys ❤️ repeat eater 😂

Nan Chinese 江南府
Dublin
19/07/2025: Four of us went there for dinner. It was a Thursday evening. It was a truly delightful experience. The waitress was welcoming, clarified any doubts we had in relation to the menu, explained dishes, talked about the ingredients,... And all that with kindness, patience and a smile.
We all agreed that the food not only looked amazing (beautifully presented), it was delicious!!!
Lately, I have experienced that, although some restaurants may have nice food, you barely get to enjoy it or enjoy the company of the person you're with. Once you sit down, the clock starts ticking and when time is over you're presented with the bill. Wine is overpriced and often served incorrectly (too warm or filling the glasses too fast in order to get you to buy another bottle).
Thankfully, none of that happened here!!! I enjoyed being out with my friends, trying delicious dishes new to us. Having a relaxed dinner and catching up without being interrupted or rushed out.
I will certainly go back and I'd recommend it for the quality of the food and the service!
14/07/2025: Really good Chinese food. Get the fish soup or the beef ho fun.

Grounded
Dublin
26/09/2025: Impossible to park anywhere near, could get a coffee
10/09/2025: Staff was fantastic. The place is nice but cannot understand why they do not have tables. I had an excellent flat white... but for 5 euros! Not even in Greystones I pay so much for a coffee. No wonder why it is always empty.

Betsy's Bakeshop
Dublin
30/10/2025: I ordered the biscoff brownie and biscoff cookie sandwhich, the brownie tasted stale like it had been sitting out for a good while, the cookie sandwich was nice but didnt taste like biscoff at all, very little biscoff inside cookie, mostly just this cream filling.
06/10/2025: We bought a cake for my sons first birthday and I couldn’t of been happier how it turned out the size of the cake the price of the cake and how nice it was could not argue about anything we will defiantly be ordering here again

11/04/2026: Great time there for a few pints but having a lad in the toilets charging you just for washing your hands is not on. Didn’t pay him and was made feel like I stole him of a living.
10/04/2026: Lovely atmosphere in this pub and a big spacious area.

Mocha Beans Pearse Stn
Dublin
18/10/2025: Delicious fresh coffee and very delightful service!
10/06/2025: I’ve no idea why there isn’t reviews calling out the extortionate prices of a coffee from Mocha Beans?!
I’m a regular Pearse commuter and sometimes give in to a coffee from here knowing… a small cappuccino with almond milk costs €5.20.
That’s insane.
Alt/ non dairy milk is either cheaper or soya milk is at least free in most coffee shops (albeit soya milk is pure gick). They charge 60c extra for all non-dairy milk.
Base price for their smallest cappuccino is €4.60 which is still mad but base price in Dublin unfortunately.
Think about it- 60c for coffee with non-dairy milk. Say a carton of non dairy milk would cover 15 coffees. That would round up the cost of one of their cartons of almond/ soya/ oat/ coconut milk to €9,
A carton of these mills costs just over €3 and you can get cheaper with generic brands (which I’m sure mocha beans do).
The mark up just for having non- dairy is robbery.
I dunno if they count on people ignoring price as people on platform are often tired after a days work or tired first thing in morning after train but it’s crazy.
The coffee is decent but not near other known vendors who get away with a coffee for over a fiver.
Avoid avoid avoid no matter how much your commuter caffeine craving tells you otherwise
