21/12/2024: We used to love this place but unfortunately we had a quite unpleasant experience today. Two of us with baby(having a buggy)arrived around a quarter to 2. There were a few table available but they said they are all reserved and no one seems to leaving. We waited a bit because there is no other restaurant nearby. 2 mins later a table of 5 left and I checked they said again it is fully booked and we can take the outside table if I want. At the same time, two people went in after us without a reservation and got a table. They said it is because that table can’t fit in a buggy. Because it is late for lunch, we decided to eat outside and eat quick. It is pretty windy day we waited a bit for the menu and to speed up, I went in to order that we don’t need to stay outside with the baby too long but they said they will go out to take the order which I saw they were cleaning tables. When we waited outside, we saw a couple with a buggy left as well. I understand it can be a busy day and that is how you operate but there was zero effort to help us. You can just say there is no room for buggy instead of saying it is fully booked. The whole experience made me feel so unfair and unwelcoming.

01/01/2025: Teníamos el Carvery, el pavo y el jamón y verduras y patatas. El pavo no estaba fresco parecía rancio, sentado allí mucho tiempo, el jamón era bueno. Veg así. Los desiertos, también sentado allí mucho tiempo, no es agradable. No volvería de nuevo.

19/12/2024: Bastante concurrido Sábado hora del té. El asado del día resultó ser pavo y jamón, con la habitual verdura sobrecocida. Al menos la col era buena.

04/01/2025: I love this chain around dublin. the flavour is amazing, every ingredient feels fresh, and the meats are cooked to perfection. I don't know what crack the cooks put in heir burritos but I love them. seating is busy but usually available and clean, with free hot sauces to bring to your table. By the way, boojum is card-only.

05/12/2024: Previously left a review here, and it was a good one. But after visiting this evening I've had to come back and alter it. One of the most horrible environments for a restaurant, if you can call this place a restaurant. Visited this evening and saw a member of staff sitting on the floor behind where the food is served, on her phone, vaping and chewing on her nails. It completely put me off, not only is someone who is supposed to be serving food sitting on the floor, but with her hand in her mouth and smoking a vape. Absolutely disgusting, hygienic and completely lacking in professionalism. And what's worse is that it was clear that no one bats an eyelid at this behaviour, it was done in plain sight of customers, and makes me wonder what on earth goes on behind the scenes. Gross is not the word.

03/01/2025: We recently had a meal at the Mason branch of E&C and it was great. We then decided to try out the Beacon and it was a very bad experience. On our order was kids chicken goujons and fries, seafood tagliatelle, mushroom burger and avocado toast. The chicken goujons were not eaten as they were rubbery and overcooked, the accompanying fries were of terrible quality. The seafood tagliatelle was not seasoned at all, just overcooked pasta on a plate with some seafood meats, no sauce or anything else. The burger was bone dry. The avocado toast was pitiful. Looks like something you can whip up at home, the bread was not sourdough and hardly toasted which resulted in a soggy mess on the plate and hardly a filling meal for an adult male. The staff were lovely and we received a discount which was a nice gesture. The general consensus is that the food is not seasoned well and very overcooked. I remember coming here about a year ago and it wasn’t a great experience then either. I am sorry we tried again. It is very expensive and then super disappointing if it doesn’t work out.

02/01/2025: First time visiting, family of 4. Shared wings to start, sauce was nice but wings were tough and rubbery, most dishes that followed, in general were disappointing, very expensive family meal for bellow average food. Will not be returning.

04/12/2024: Descortés incompetente frente al personal de la casa. Fui con mis 4 yo para un bocado rápido alrededor de 230 pm. Había 2 servidores / miembros del personal en la caja. Uno estaba haciendo un chocolate caliente - Ambos hicieron todo lo posible para no hacer contacto visual o reconocer mi presencia. Luego me senté cuando me di cuenta de que nadie miraba hacia arriba, a pesar de que me saludaba y me disculpaba. Volví a subir para hacer mi pedido. Me recibió la rubia más desagradable que dijo llamarse Jessica. Colocado y pagado por nuestro pedido. Volví a mi mesa donde mi hijo y yo estábamos mirando a través de su libro de actividades, ella vino y puso el doble expreso debajo del libro donde estaba mi hijo y lo mismo para la caja de jugo de manzana. Rápidos instintos me llevé la copa para evitar que fuera derribada por el libro. Me sentí muy incómodo y quería irme entonces, pero ya había pedido y pagado. Dos servidores - uno de pelo oscuro y el rubio hizo todo lo posible para no reconocernos. A pesar de instalar otras 5 mesas - 3 individuales , 1 con padre e hijo, y otra con 2 damas. Ni siquiera nos ofrecieron agua. Cuando las papas fritas salieron, la cantidad de sal en las papas fritas hizo imposible comer. Traté de mover a ambos que me ignoraron completamente. Traté de limpiar los gránulos de sal de las papas fritas ya que mi hijo tenía hambre en esa etapa. Eventualmente subí y le dije al de cabello oscuro que era demasiado salado - no comestible. Se llevó a los dos. Vi otras mesas que vinieron tras nosotros, consiguiendo y terminando su comida. Subí otra vez para comprobarlo. La rubia dice agresivamente: "tienen que cocinarlo" No, déjame comprobarlo o serán unos minutos. Finalmente llegó 1 porción de papas fritas. 10 minutos más nada más. Volví a preguntar si el otro vendría pronto. "solo pediste uno" Dije que ambos no eran comestibles, te llevaste a los dos "Nadie más se ha quejado en todo el día" ¿Por qué iba a mentir? Nunca antes había experimentado un trato tan horrible - estaba horrorizado. En lugar de decir un servicio horrible, dije que eres una persona horrible para la rubia, lo que es absolutamente cierto en mi caso. Todo el tiempo, mi hijo es testigo de este comportamiento y desde entonces ha dicho "nunca volveremos a ese restaurante porque fueron muy groseros con usted". Debería haber comenzado diciendo que, aunque estoy casada con un irlandés, yo no soy blanca y mi hijo es mixto. Así que me inclinaría más por el lado de ser racista desde el principio. Las otras mesas a las que atendían eran blancas. No iré de nuevo. Este personal necesita ser entrenado o conseguir un trabajo en otro lugar donde no interactúen con las personas. Avoid.

24/11/2024: The food and coffee is good, but a bit expensive. I used to be a regular. However some of the staff are super rude. A blonde girl who is a waitress best avoided.

24/12/2024: Never seem to have offers they advertise, staff not the most helpful.

19/12/2024: I went in looking for a particular item and a lovely young lady went looking for it. She returned saying the item had not yet arrived. This was a Christmas special vegetarian dish. She asked for my number and promised to ring me when the item came in. I was only back home a few minutes when I got a call from her to say the item had just been put out on the shelf. This goes above and beyond helpful. I now have 2 meatless Beef Wellingtons. Many thanks

09/01/2025: Jan25 O’Briens is a great spot! Delicious toasts with perfect flavor combinations and super friendly staff. Highly recommended for a quick bite or casual lunch!

25/09/2024: I ordered frozen curry and some other dishes via their website two times in a row. Both times, they forgot to pack the frozen curry. I called back; they said they issued a refund for the missing item and that I should have a coupon in the app for the next time. Surprise, there was no coupon.

22/09/2024: Food is good but there are no gluten free starters, which is a shame considering how common place food intolerances are right now (and how easy it is to turn most dishes gluten free).
