The best restaurants in Dublin

01/08/2025: Disappointed with my order from Bell Pepper, Kimmage I work as a delivery driver, so I know how to handle food properly to avoid leaks or spills. This time, I ordered for myself via pick-up — a soup and a spice bag. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. When I got home I saw that the soup was already leaking underneath, I did put it in the termal bag with support, to do not leak but still, and it didn’t taste good at all. The spice bag was shockingly small for the price, and most of the potatoes inside were undercooked and few pieces of chicken. On top of that, it was extremely spicy — far beyond what I’ve experienced before. I’ve had plenty of spice bags from other places and they’ve been amazing, but this was the first time I ordered from Bell Pepper in Kimmage, and sadly, it will also be the last. Very disappointed. I would not recommend.

18/07/2025: Ordered a thai green curry and jasmine rice for delivery, food came well before the estimated delivery time, was piping hot and most importantly tasted delicious, excellent job, would highly recommend this place 😋

20/11/2025: I absolutely loved Crowbar during my trip to Dublin. The atmosphere inside was welcoming and the bartenders were friendly. The prices are reasonable. I didn't go to the nightclub section of the bar, but according to a friend, it's pretty good. I recommend it!

02/11/2025: Accidentally spilled my pint after 30 seconds of buying it. Explained the bartender that it was a mistake and asked if maybe she could replace it. Instead she nastly said “you have to pay again, obviously” in a mean manner. Like I understand that but that was not nice to respond in such demeanour, especially the “obviously” part. Other bars would have replaced it for free.

02/01/2026: Food are delicious and authentic South East Asian cuisine. The place is spotless and the service is superb.

10/12/2025: The food is amazing, the four of us had 4 amazing dishes. The staffs are very welcoming and happy, the vibe is good!

05/01/2026: Great food and friendly service. The blonde manager with glasses was very kind and hardworking, even while very busy. Really great experience!

28/12/2025: Nice place, good location, lovely ambience. The food was good but elements missing. There should have been miso soup alongside two meals, which never arrived. My dessert was ice-cream with tuiles cases and berries. There were 2 blueberries! That's a disappointment. Don't bother saying berries, if you are going to serve two! Don't say you serve miso soup alongside, if you're not going to do that.

22/12/2025: Very poor experience received by management not on the ground staff. We had booked for 16 people food and karaoke - they charged us a €320 deposit for this booking, €20 euro per person which we thought was originally a bit steep! This was also not redeemable against payments on the day. We had group of 13 sit down for food, we had 3 friends that were unable to attend on the day due to illness - typical of the time of year close to Christmas with flus etc. In total between food (€870) , karaoke, where we also had additional friends join (€420) and drinks probably €500+ we spent close to the €2000 mark. Food and service were fine but nothing special, expensive as Dublin generally is but there are much better Japanese restaurants in Dublin. They are now refusing to return €60 of the deposit based on the fact that we had 3 friends not sit down for dinner with us, despite the fact we spent nearly €2000 in Maneki on the night. They are saying this is because we didn't have an accurate number of people for the booking 5 days prior to the date of the dinner - anyone that has an illness surely knows that you can't predict it five days beforehand and you are doing the right thing by not attending and spreading it to everyone else, despite this still 13 of us attended and there wasn't any money lost for Maneki. They have stopped replying to our emails and it has left an incredibly bad impression on our larger friend group who are all based in Dublin, none of us will return to Maneki again and will not recommend it to anyone in our wider circles based on the experience. Table was also delayed by 20 mins when we arrived and the karaoke room was also delayed by 20-30 mins. Mics were also way to high in the karaoke room which wasn't very enjoyable but the issue could not be resolved by the staff. To me, it seems that they take the deposit to make sure that you do not get some of it back, they made us even sign a waiver for the karaoke in case of any issues, seems like an incredibly greedy business model! Any of the Chinese restaurants on Parnell St are a much better recommendation for karaoke in Dublin :)

10/08/2025: Thai chicken burger was delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful. Music was quite loud but was turned down a notch on request. Smoking area could be improved.

25/06/2025: Came here for a private event following a wedding and it was simply fantastic! Great place that ended up accommodating 60+ people. Food was BBQ style and made to order. Drinks were reasonably priced for Dublin (can be quite pricey!) however had a great selection of lagers and spirits. Had live entertainment which was not overwhelming followed by opening up of a small dance floor. Definitely a great place for a small gathering!

10/12/2025: Terrible attitude and service.And the response even got my surname wrong.What happened was I got a phone shoved in my face to show my booking wasn't accepted.A simple no would have been fine.I will be in touch with the Embassy to ask about the behaviour.

31/12/2025: The food is good, and above all, there's plenty of it. I ordered a set of fish, chips, water, sauce, and kebab for myself and my wife. I knew how much I'd pay because you could choose from the display. No one cheated me. The portions were very large and, above all, delicious. And the prices were much cheaper compared to the city center. As a tourist, I can recommend it.

22/12/2025: Dropping down a star after getting the southern fried chicken kebab fries and taco fries. Almost only chips. Not good

10/01/2026: If I could put 0 star I will ! Such a rude staff members they took any good out of the products. The manager was very unprofessional, I had to wait at least 5 minutes before she looked up from her phone. Absolutely terrible experience

04/01/2026: We had a great evening overall at this cocktail bar. The upstairs bar was excellent: amazing cocktails, great atmosphere, and perfect service. Everything was top quality and we truly enjoyed our time there. Unfortunately, the experience ended on a disappointing note. At 1:00 AM, a security guard aggressively insisted that we leave, even though Google Maps lists the bar’s closing time as 2:30 AM. He even tried to take my girlfriend’s glass while it was still half full, without asking if she had finished. When I calmly asked why we were being asked to leave so early, he questioned where I was from and threatened to kick me out without any valid explanation, simply for asking a question. It’s a shame, as the quality of the cocktails and the service do not match this kind of unprofessional behavior.

03/01/2026: Michaela looked after us Booked a table for 7, service charge added We went with the Early Bird 3 Course Meal €30.95 Decent choices, good value I went with the Spicy Chicken Wing Starter, Satay Chicken Curry 1/2 & 1/2 with the Malteeser Cheesecake option Our only hiccup was the dessert, one of our guests has an allergy to strawberry and was given strawberry. This was rectified and an alternative provided. Please make sure to cater for all, if some mentions an allergy then write down allergy. If you need the chef to come out to the table, then get the chef! Other than that, friendly courteous staff and thank you to Michaela for an enjoyable night.

03/01/2026: This coffee shop offers a wide selection, from coffee to matcha, complemented by excellent pastries. Highly recommended! I thoroughly enjoyed their brewed Ethiopian coffee.

20/10/2025: Glad to see it open again after a very quick patch up (paint on outdoor tables still sticky as they didn't seal it) and not much changed inside, but food not up to the mark (tasteless salad, which was kindly replaced and Cuban sandwich in name only). Would definitely go back for a pint outside, but still feels outdated on the inside. Much better friendly service than under last owner. Updated review (October 25): Thanks for your response below! We went back and new menu is great. Best lobster roll I ever had!
