The best restaurants in Dublin

03/08/2025: We were not allowed to enter because one of my friends was wearing sportswear, we all have normal jobs and were intending to have a pint. DISCRIMINATION based on appearance. Shame and disrespect together with rudeness from the manager. At the same time security manager was smoking vape while talking to us (apparently it was ok according to their policies). The lowest hospitality standard I saw in Dublin.

18/07/2025: Just illegal behaviour, not allowing me to pay cash that the ATM gave me 'just because'. It is illegal to refuse taking cahs, that, and I was refused to be served when I told them. I'm not surprised that the previous company that owned that place went bankrupt. I wanted to buy drinks and pay, and I was refused because of using a 100 euro.

19/08/2025: We had very tasty Chinese food. And it turned out that the employee's husband is Lithuanian! ☺️

11/06/2025: I took my father here this evening - to the Terrace - and had a great time. We had tried to book a window seat, but upon arrival there were none available. The wonderful front of house said he would do everything to help us. I had told him it was an early father's day dinner for my dad. We were seated in a non window seat initially, but within 15 minutes, due to a no show, he moved us to a 4-top, but made it for just the two of us. My dad had the Dublin Bay Prawn Scampi, and loved every second of it (his appetite can be off, so it was brilliant to see!). I ordered the burger (without pickles), but it arrived with pickles which put me off a little. I removed them from the plate and one of the hostesses asked if everything was OK (truly I didn't really enjoy the burger..too much sauce and the pickle residue was still lingering on the burger) and I just told her it's lovely but I asked for no pickles (I didn't want to ask for a fresh order bc it seemed ridiculous!). She came back later in the meal to say the desserts were going to be on the house - I tried to protest and say it's not a problem, but when the bill came, they weren't there. As a result I left a very generous tip for the servers. The desserts were delicious. Dad had the sticky toffee pudding and I had the meringue roulade (very sweet, but I had room after not finishing my burger). All in all the service was hit and miss (we were neglected a bit at the beginning in favour of the bigger, more demanding tables, and I had asked for a sauce top up which came after we had finished - but I understand they were under pressure), but the managers really stepped up and made it a special night. My dad, most importantly, has been waxing lyrical about it since. They also had a good selection of non-alcoholic wines for him, which was really refreshing. I would definitely go back again - and order the scampi!! Top top marks to the fronts of house...you made it a lovely evening.

19/08/2025: Worst of BK restaurants I have seen. Staff usually in "I don't care" state. Very often bigger or smaller part of menu not available (once there was no beef products available!) Upgrading to 4 stars as things are better recently. It looks like new staff was hired.

16/08/2025: Food cold, service slow, restaurant closed only drive thru, delivered and just eat were competing for service with us

31/07/2025: They have a nice area , though the day I went the rooftop or balcony was closed for cleaning . You can pick the pastries you want bring them on the counter and order your drinks. The day i went they dont have the raspberry ice matcha so i went for ice vanilla matcha . The matcha was nice but tooo sweet . Its full of milk and vanilla i seen only a bit of matcha was been put . Might as well call it vanilla milk latte 🤭thats why probably i didnt taste the matcha that much but its nice .

19/07/2025: The revival of the historic house is beautiful, with charming buildings and rooms. However, the bar was lacking during our visit. The biggest issue was breakfast — it had to be ordered individually and took nearly an hour. We had a frustrating experience with breakfast. We asked to eat at 08:00, but ended up waiting 1 hour and 15 minutes — with children under 10 years old. This was far from ideal. Later, we found out there's a café less than a 15-minute walk away where we could have had a breakfast insted. All in all, it was quite disappointing, and we will probably not return.

15/04/2025: This property is very beautiful the location is really great however this hotel is not suitable for older people. The breakfast service was very terrible as we constantly felt rushed even though the hotel was fully and we did not get our seat promptly. I absolutely have no issues waiting for a table because I understand that the hotel was fully booked and busy however as soon as we sat down we felt extremely rushed both days that we ate there. The breakfast was tasty though. We asked for clean towels to be set in our room and when we got back the towels that they had replaced were extremely dirty and had brown spots on them. I told front desk about this and I thought they were going to notify the manager but they never did. We went there with my parents who needed help with their luggage since there are a lot of stairs in this property. The stairs are completely fine and it was in the listing so I completely understood. However when we went to the front desk to ask for assistance for my parents to help them with their luggage the front desk person was sleeping in the lobby we did not offer to help us at all. This was extremely unprofessional considering that my parents were older, and we had been told the front desk offer is 24 seven and they did not help us with their luggage at all. Overall the properties very beautiful but the staff is horrendous. I’ve never the type of person to leave a negative review but this truly blew my mind how terrible the service was.

21/08/2025: Visited there quite recently and ordered a takeaway Doner Kebab & Chicken Kebab both of them were meals, my wife had the chicken kebab and to be fair said it was quite good, I had the Doner meal firstly the chips are very very small and the kebab could nearly be passed off as vegetarian/vegan the sauces are salads were nice but hardly any meat……with a tiny portion of chips and very little meat it actually felt like I was being healthy!!!!! I won’t be returning any time soon!

27/07/2025: Lovely neighbourhood restaurant. Nice bright room and friendly staff. Food was very good: tasty doner and shish meats, lovely salad, sauces and bread. Chips were nice and crispy. Lots of fire jumping behind the counter which is a great sign. Staff were kind enough to take the kids meals and make rolled up kebabs for them. They reckoned that they were the best kebabs they ever had. I couldn’t really argue. Wish there was one where I live. Highly recommended.

20/08/2025: Vibe is good, drinks are watery! Sent the pornstar martini back because it only tasted like juice. Ordered an aperol sprit as a safe bet and I watched the bartender give a shot of aperol and then wait…. A shot of prosecco over 50% soda water, I said to the bartender surely you know that’s not an aperol he said that’s the recipe for this bar …. So watery drinks…

18/08/2025: I love this place! Spent a couple of afternoons here recently in the sunshine, service excellent, cocktails excellent, pizzas divine!

22/08/2025: If I could give minus stars I would.Came in, quite busy. I found a table, it was dirty but that's ok. I thought well someone will be around to clean it. Fast forward 10 minutes, no sign of any staff. A lady on a table nearby found a spray and cloth and cleaned her own table. I did the same as I had family members meeting me. I ordered drinks for the table at 17:10. The drinks arrived at 17:35. Absolute joke, went up to see what the story was and told we had to wait. Then the app was down conveniently. I know it's a weatherspoons, but the service should be a bit better.

12/08/2025: San Marino food is good driver didn't speak English and had no change I was going to sit down to enjoy my dinner and was expected to go over to the shop and get change extremely rude just not on rang chippy and the boss hung up this country doesn't feel like home an more.. 🙄😠 Expected to leave my friend an her son with autism on his own an if not without a dinner. What delivery if they know your paying Cash doesn't bring Change 🙄 the spar shop is 2mins across the road so I said will you go using a many hand gestures as I could to his disgust he agreed an came back with change no tip for him...

04/07/2025: Getting food regularly and it was lovely but I got food tonight and the chicken burger was very over done the bun was burnt my husband got a battered burger and I asked for it to be lightly done and it was over done food standards are gone down a bit

18/08/2025: I visited Jimmy Rabbitte's Pub with a friend, and upon arrival, we were speaking in our native language. The bouncer checked my ID and informed me that the pub operates a 23+ policy, so we couldn't enter. However, two Irish girls who arrived after us were not asked for their IDs and were allowed entry without issue. This inconsistency in enforcement felt discriminatory and left us feeling unwelcome. It's disappointing when policies aren't applied equally to all customers. I do not suggest this racist pub to anyone.
