28/04/2026: First time getting take away from here. It was dreadful got House Special Fried Rice, Chicken Fried Rice and Salt and Chilli ribs starter. The Rice dishes had no flavour very bland. The House Special Fried Rice had the tinest bit of chicken, prawn and peas no beef, pork or other veg. The Salt and Chilli ribs were good but it was a extremely small portion. Very disappointing won't be back!

15/02/2026: I don’t know what to say other than disappointing. The prices are crazy for what you get given the quality is no better than a typical Chinese takeaway. The spring rolls were strange to say the least. Wasn’t able to tell how fresh the veg in them were. The garlic and black bean fillet beef was nice but no way was it fillet beef. The chilli beef was good too but very deep fried to the point you couldn’t taste beef and just deep fried batter. The worst thing we got at our table was the salt and chilli chicken, it was absolutely disgusting. And for nearly 30 euro - it was daylight robbery. The chicken itself didn’t look like chicken and it was drowning in oil. For the same price, I could have dined at a top restaurant in the city centre. Overall, really disappointing.

05/06/2026: I had a brilliant experience here! Their paneer lababdar is absolutely a must-try. I truly recommend this spot for a fantastic takeaway night. The food was amazing! ✨

22/02/2026: Have ordered before from Spice Cottage and food was always great. But yesterday, we ordered two starters (onion baji and chicken pakura), both were soaking in grease and virtually inedible…we ordered one main (chicken tikka masala with Pilau rice), the rice was the best part!! The Nasn bread was soggy. Feels like a completely different takeaway/chef…reluctant to try again!!!

21/09/2025: Soooo this place doesn’t actually exist on this location. Don’t know who’s posting but as of Saturday night 9/29 this doesn’t exist /9 don’t fall for it especially if you’re drunk and hungry!!!

10/08/2025: The worst fish and chips I’ve ever had in Ireland. Stomach turning greasy and undercooked. Had to throw the bag out on the way home. Also charged extra for simple condiments. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

25/04/2026: Avoid these people, they deliberately ripped me off twice in a week. The first time I put it down to error, they overcharged me for a meal when it wasn't one. But today I asked for a half pounder with egg, they gave me a quarter pounder with no sign of any egg. I know cultural sensibility is a thorny subject, but these people should be very grateful they are here. If they don't like it they can go home. Avoid.

01/03/2026: Their food is nice but unfortunately it took two full hours exactly for our order to arrive last night. Their phone was constantly engaged, when it did eventually arrive at 9.45 there wasn't even an apology. We order many takeaways from Kimmage and Terenure and unfortunately Mr Chen is the only place that we've ever had these disastrous delivery experiences. That was out last time ordering there.

30/03/2026: Spice bag is decent, but can be hit or miss on certain days. Chicken is halal (according to the staff and owners).

26/04/2026: Rude security. Even though I've been here several times, this time I wasn't allowed in because "they don't know me" and it's a place only for regulars. The place was almost empty. At 52, I don't look like I'm homeless or a brat. Earlier, the staff cordially invited me back because I had a good time. And now some sulking guy with a mustache is insulting me. He let two young girls in next to me, asking for ID, so he didn't know them. So he lied. Maybe the problem was that I was too well dressed? Because I don't wear a tracksuit and sneakers?

Ordered an old fashioned for $15 and it was one ounce at best. Save your money and go elsewhere.

06/04/2026: Absolutely amazing experience here, the food was that good I ended up getting another 2 starters and dessert after already eating a starter and main course. Never done that before but couldn't help myself. I had the mussels, calamari and crab salad, main dish was the chefs special which consisted of lobster, prawns and scallops, for dessert I had the orange cheese cake. Everything was absolutely amazing! A fabulous selection of wines as well to top it off. Definitely would highly recommend to everyone as there are dishes on the menu which are not seafood and they do serve bottled beer. The service was absolutely tops, all the servers were so polite and attentive, cannot fault anything at all.

10/03/2026: Absolute kip of a place!!! Came in with some friends and was immediately turned off by the man behind the counter. He did not smile once or even greet us as we were paying at the till, he looked at the girls making our orders and asked them what I was having after I just told him. So rude and just turned me off the place altogether
