The Hill
Dublin
09/09/2025: I googled this location on the maps, just to eat and have a beer. The waitress told me that no food is served here, despite it's on the menu on Google Maps. She was also not friendly at all. So I just left.
06/09/2025: Nice atmosphere, very authentic. Delicious beer 😊

Dean's Beans
Dublin
24/10/2025: The most fabulous coffee in Dun Laoghaire.
Fabulous gourmet sandwiches and soup.
My only slight complaint would be that the little cakes are a bit pricey.
03/10/2025: Superb and friendly service. They put a lot of effort into my cappuccino and served me a swan. :) The cappuccino had a well-rounded flavor.

Step Inn
Dublin
06/08/2025: We visited the restaurant for the first time since the new management took over. The interior is even more stunning and the vibe soothing. We had lunch there and it wasn't very full so we enjoyed the ambience a lot. The menu could do with a bit more variety but we enjoyed the fish bites, chicken wrap and filet steak sandwich a lot. Aileen was a wonderful host and we were grateful for the birthday platter for my in-law. The Aperol spritz let me down a little as it could use a better prosecco to soda water ratio.
05/08/2025: Delicious food with great service. Food was fresh, staff very helpful, highly recommend

19/06/2025: Uno de mis lugares favoritos para comer sushi.
Siempre delicioso y consistente.
Mi favorito es el rollo de catapillar y el inari.
Personal amable también.

Hellfire
Dublin
10/10/2025: We had a great time at hellfire and really enjoyed our service from Andrea
09/10/2025: The food was average in taste. The steak was decently seasoned, and the portion sizes were generous. The Wagyu burger was similar good portions but fairly standard in flavour. The service, however, was excellent. The staff were attentive, explained the menu well, and remained friendly even during a busy period. Prices are reasonable, though perhaps slightly on the higher side.

Javaholics Coffee Company
Dublin
19/09/2025: Super nice cafe with beautiful views of the park, everything very clean, cozy atmosphere, one of my favorite cafes in Fairview, I love coming here.
16/09/2025: 7.30 for a coffee and a caramel slice. Coffe the way l like it, slice the way my mother made it. View of park was lovely. Sat outside until smokers arrived. Family beside me moved off, l moved off and another cyclist moved off. Smokers own the outdoors still.

Hillbilly's
Dublin
26/09/2025: Top class food very polite staff great place to eat from
16/09/2025: Food is good. Chicken is always nice. Taco chips are my favourite here. Much nicer than any other place in my opinion and they are generous with the portions too. The girls behind the counter are friendly and the food is quick to come out. The only thing id say is the location is not the best if you are driving down. Parking can be a nightmare and being right beside a very busy road and a very busy/infamous roundabout doesn't help either. There's always traffic coming in and out of the place so i wouldnt recommend driving there during peak hours.

Reeds on the River
Dublin
26/07/2025: I guess everyone can have an off day which probably explains the one and two star reviews for this place. We had a lovely meal here this evening for our anniversary. The staff were friendly and accommodating. So our experience was the best. Five stars.
16/06/2025: Waiting staff service was great but unfortunately the breakfast was abysmal. I wouldn’t waste your money. Waiting on our food for 30+ minutes, waiting staff kindly offered complementary drinks but when the food arrived the order was wrong, items missing from different dishes and food was just so poor. My avocado toast was very obviously premade guacamole and one slice of sourdough toast that was cremated on one side and not toasted at all on the other. There was salad underneath the toast that looked days old - soggy pieces of onion etc. A very poor showing from the chef, the waiting staff were lovely.

06/09/2025: It is good to find a place for a coffee for a long time every day.
I'd like especially capuccino and cakes.
I love the view through the windows!

Golden Brown - Cafe
Dublin
09/10/2025: Golden Brown is everything you could ask for in a toastie! Crispy on the outside, gooey and rich on the inside. The golden finish makes you stop mid-bite just to admire it. I've tried almost every sandwich on the menu here and they're all amazing. My personal favourite is the Ragin' Cajun and it has never failed. Added bonus - the coffee and pastries here are also 10/10. Highly recommend dropping in if for a bite if your ever passing through Cabinteely village!
05/10/2025: Updated review. From 5 stars. Level of service is appalling. There are over 20 people waiting to be served as I'm writing this. One staff member making coffee, nó ONÉ else tó bé seen.

Wynn's Hotel
Dublin
18/10/2025: Wynn’s Hotel, Dublin, is an absolute joy. It’s in a great location - close to Trinity, museums, shops and restaurants. The decor is Victorian wth a bit of a ‘70’s vibe, and the seafood chowder is sublime. What makes the hotel stand out is the staff. From the Czech barman who remembered our drinks and advised me on which gin to have, to the waiter who told my 65 year old friend to put her phone away and eat her breakfast before it got cold, we met big personalities who gave excellent service and made us feel totally at home. There is nothing corporate here, just a great hotel with a lovely atmosphere. Like the staff, the hotel is quirky and idiosyncratic, and in a gentle and understated we had one of the best hotel experiences ever. I absolutely loved it.
17/10/2025: Before you rush to judgment at the 4.3 average rating, check out the overwhelming proportion of recent glowing 5 star ratings for this hotel. My wife and I spent 5 nights here, and as frequent travelers with 2 BNBs of our own we were extremely impressed. Absolutely everyone who staffed the front desk during our stay was exceptional, but as others have noted, Sam stood out amidst this outstanding bunch. He was delightful to talk to and eager to please. The room was well equipped and very comfortable, and breakfast was truly something to look forward to each morning - the food, the setting, and again the service were all fantastic. And the location, with easy walks to Trinity College and other key Dublin locations and a light rail stop about a block away was a definite plus. We rarely stay this long a one hotel, but I’m glad we had an unusually extended stay here.
