Mind The Step
Dublin
30/07/2025: Generally a nice place, but my experience this time was disappointing:
• The room felt stuffy.
• The staff seemed a bit too casual.
• No one appeared to notice that water was dripping from a tap in the middle of the room, creating a puddle on the floor — apparently someone hadn’t closed it properly.
• I was also surprised to learn that laptop use is not allowed after 5 PM. I had come specifically to spend half an hour working on my laptop, but ended up having to leave. That made the visit rather unpleasant.
It would be helpful to have a clear sign at the entrance indicating that laptops are not permitted after a certain time (especially since books and sketchbooks are still allowed).
29/07/2025: Warning for anyone looking for a study place. They have a no laptop rule past 5pm that’s not mentioned on the website.

01/07/2025: Lovely food at a very reasonable price.
Not crowded in the restaurant and lovely staff.
Be a sin not to try this place.
31/03/2025: Glass wasn't clean. There are a lot of finger patterns and other things. I'm not sure if it is cleaned or not. Little bit confusing

Eatokyo
Dublin
23/07/2025: Quick service and a varied selection of dishes. Fair prices as well. Great vegan and vegetarian selection.
22/07/2025: Good food and service. It was weirdly busy for a Tuesday at 1 but it was still nice. The Duck in the bento box was very flavourful, the whole meal goes together great and for a decent price.

Cleaver East
Dublin
19/07/2025: We visited Cleaver East for my hen party with a group of 16 people, expecting a fun night of good food and "endless pours" as advertised. What we got instead was hands-down the worst service I’ve ever experienced in a restaurant.
Despite hoping to order individually and enjoy bottomless drinks, we were told—without a hint of flexibility—that we had to commit to a €79 per person set menu (2 or 3 courses), even though many of us only wanted a single course.
Things started off positively with our server Hugo, who was fantastic: polite, attentive, and professional. He took our drink orders and made an effort to look after us. Sadly, he was quickly reassigned after what appeared to be instructions from a female staff member who later identified herself as the manager (I believe her name was Karolina). From that point on, everything went downhill.
We were essentially cut off from the "bottomless" drinks we had paid for. Our glasses were empty for long stretches of time, and despite asking several times, we were ignored. Hugo even told us he was no longer allowed to serve our table.
Food service was also painfully slow — starters took over an hour to arrive, and mains came 30 minutes later (with two missing altogether and not brought out). One plate was left sitting cold on the table while my niece tried to reason with the manager. Speaking of which: this manager was completely unprofessional, rude, and dismissive. She refused to acknowledge the issues or take responsibility. Her attitude genuinely ruined the night.
Despite repeated requests for the bill and voicing our concerns (including the fact that most of us received only two drinks in 90 minutes), the manager's only explanation was, “I’m only human” and “the restaurant is full.” Not acceptable when you’ve booked for a group weeks in advance.
We left hungry, frustrated, and angry. It was meant to be a special celebration — instead, we left feeling completely let down. I understand the restaurant may be closing soon, and that might explain some of the attitude, but it doesn’t excuse it. No customer should be treated this way.
Would not recommend — especially not for a special occasion.
13/07/2025: Came for a bottomless and it really was a let down. First of all we were told food was £30 per head when we paid it was actually £33. They are slow to top up drinks, and the ‘mimosas’ are about 90% orange juice, no fizz in them whatsoever. If you want some drinks you’re better just paying for them separately, the bottomless is a scam.
We also had to go up twice to ask for top ups, the amount of time we had which turned out to be 1.45 hours was not made clear. Myself and partner had to duck out for an hour for an emergency and came back to be told that we ‘missed starters so can only have mains and dessert’, I explained the situation that we had an emergency and that we have booked in for the brunch and are going to be paying full price therefore with some understanding should be allowed to get the starters slightly delayed. It was an uncomfortable situation to be in as I really had to push for this to be made possible where as there should have just been some understanding in the first place. It’s not like we were asking for mood than we were going to be paying for.
Eventually we got our food, and it was nice, nothing to write home about especially for the price. Overall though the service was horrendous and really let down the whole experience, this feeling was mutually shared throughout the large group.
Really disappointed and wouldn’t recommend to anyone wanting a good bottomless brunch experience.

Waiting Bar Café
Dublin
29/07/2025: Good food, service very good. Staff friendly. Had lunch on a Monday and Went back Thursday with my wife for breakfast. Very happy.
30/06/2025: We went here today. Can't fault the place. Clearly a small business and they should be supported... but.. when a single pancake costs 5e. . . How can this be supported. 5e seems a minimum for food and thats perfectly acceptable, but send 2. It seemed needlessly mean to send 1 with some nutters and a few marshmallows. My lil fella said it was lovely but hes still hungry. The rest of the food was fine but this left a bad taste.

Hillbilly's
Dublin
13/07/2025: Excellent food. I've eaten here 20+ times. Never a bad dish. It's flavour and it's a takeaway. There are a few stools at the window to sit and eat. Everyone seems to flood this location and with good reason.
If you are fussy about chicken and you want excellent quality make sure you hit up the breat in bun range.
03/07/2025: The food was tasty and so was the gravy , service was superfast

13/07/2025: A large and stylish venue – a successful blend of modern design and old-building charm. The food was delicious, the service friendly and attentive. The prices are absolutely fair. Add to that the central location – perfect for a stop in the city. A definite recommendation!
