Caffe Cagliostro

Dublin
15/07/2025: Best espresso in the city centre
26/06/2025: All I wanted was a oat latte with an extra shot, nothing crazy, especially coming from someone who’s worked as a barista for years. But the staff (all Italian, for what it's worth) acted like I’d committed a crime against coffee. You’d swear I walked in asking for a single plum, floating in perfume, served in a man’s hat. The passive-aggression was off the charts. Atmosphere was fine, but hard to enjoy when you’re being horsey-eyed for your coffee order. Felt more like I was being judged than served. Not for me. Dhoirfeadh siad do chraiceann díot ar son slisín bagúin dá gceapfaidís go m’fhágfá buíochas leo.

Botanic Gardens Cafe

Dublin
24/07/2025: Friendly, good food. Lunch time was crowded in July, but you can take food and enjoy the lunch in the garden (remember to take your trash with you outside from garden as there is no trash cans in the garden!)

Kilkenny Shop

Dublin
08/07/2025: I absolutely adore this shop, I’ve been visiting here and snagging products as often as I can. Their skincare is some of my favorite! It’s great to find options that have a more natural feel and scent. They also have lovely handbags, much from Orla Kiely, and so much more.
05/07/2025: Excellent food and good value as well. Well presented goods in the downstairs area.

Big Mike’s

Dublin
20/06/2025: Superb! Loved the food, service & ambience.
18/06/2025: Went late on a Friday night 30 mins before closing time, felt we were just another number. Drinks order was wrong, no apology. Services was appethetic, and clearly winding down. Left a poor taste, alliverall an underwhelming and overpriced experience. Hope we were the exception, but my advice is to avoid,

Eddie Rocket's

Dublin
19/07/2025: Very nice food tho not much of buzz to be honest
05/07/2025: Arrived today at your liffey valley branch at 3.30pm, waited almost 20 minutes and I had to ask a staff member to take our order. 40 minutes past and no food arrived, however multiple people that came in after our party of 4 had been served and left. I called a member of staff to ask what's going on to be told that others are just ordering fried food (which isn't true, I observed 2 burgers going to the table in question), turns out they lost our order, we're their an hour to have someone come over to retake the order. We ended up leaving. 2 autistic children starving, overwhelmed and quite upset at today's events. I can honestly say, the service is a disgrace and leaves a lot to be desired. Zero apology, just nothing but excuses.

Turk's Head

Dublin
17/07/2025: Ideal for experiencing Irish music with a beer and a burger. You can go just for a drink, but we took advantage of the opportunity to have dinner. The waiter was charming and very friendly. On Wednesdays, they have a burger and beer special for €12.50.
15/07/2025: Seven of us were sitting outside the Turks head on stools for about two hours after Trans Pride (Sat 12th of July). We’d had at least three rounds of drinks and were about to order a fourth (so easily 150 quid spent with another 40-50 on the way?). At some stage one of our group had bought four cans of whiteclaw, from across the way and some were drank and some used as mixers. The empty cans were among all the purchased drinks from the bar (i.e. we weren't hiding them), and when they were empty we just left them on the stool with the full pints and empty glasses (with a plan to bin them later). A manager came around to clear the table. Then the next time one of us went to order inside at the bar, we were told by the bouncers that we were barred by the manager. The bouncers were incredibly rude, saying it was unacceptable to the business to bring in cans. No amount of explaining the situation (they’d been openly on the stool for the last two hours without issue, we just hadnt binned them yet, they’d been bought ages ago and not replaced) or apologising was good enough. We obviously were not trying to break the policy, or sneak in alcohol (as evidenced by the three rounds we’d bought and fourth we were trying to buy). The manager happened to come around again, so we tried to explain the situation to him. He in turn blamed the bouncers. We called him on this and then he claimed it was Dublin City Council policy, not to encourage on-street drinking? This didn't make any sense as the street was full of people drinking on-street in full view of the guards without issue (both shop bought and from the pubs). After this the manager said he’d talk with the bouncers but never came back. When one of the group who ‘looks straight’ tried to enter, she was allowed. When one who was Queer presenting tried to enter, they were blocked. Can’t help but feel Turks Head arbitrarily applied a policy to us because we were queer and they wanted to move us on in favour of tourists. Really disappointing given the street was recently pedestrianised and was full of Queer people and allies celebrating a really successful march (10k people!). We wont be back.

DARUMA

Dublin
10/06/2025: This was easily the best ethnic food we had on our visit. We needed a break from fried fish and potatoes. It's definitely worth the detour and not far from all the other places you want to be.
10/06/2025: An amazing experience and the food was perfect!

The Flowing Tide

Dublin
28/07/2025: A great city centre pub, well worth a visit, great for a night out with friends or family. This pub is steeped in tradition
20/07/2025: I loved this place in the past! I always come here before going home, but is getting bad, the glass of wine is 8,50 but it is a small glass of wine, I work in temple bar and the glass of wine is 7,50.... and they are closing too early, sometimes 23:00 is the last order! Staff very rude sometimes and they don't last longer, they have to improve!
