The best restaurants in Dublin

18/10/2025: This is absolutely ridiculous! Today I went to this restaurant and was initially impressed by its decor and the staff's friendly attitude—it seemed pretty decent. They confirmed my order: shared appetizers and a rack of lamb. When the appetizers arrived, I noticed each plate had three beef meatballs, which was a pleasant surprise since the portions were quite generous. The beef balls had a texture similar to those sold at Lidl, but without the gelatinous quality, and they lacked the usual chewiness and bounce. After finishing the appetizer, I waited for the grilled lamb chops, only for the server to rush us to pay and ask if we wanted anything else to drink. When I inquired about the lamb chops, the server was genuinely surprised and claimed they hadn't taken my order for lamb at all. I retorted, “I didn't order lamb chops?” and immediately requested an additional order. After a wait, they claimed the last portion of lamb chops was sold out and offered an alternative instead. I was furious! We had clearly ordered appetizers plus lamb chops when placing the reservation, yet they only served two appetizers. This logic was utterly unacceptable. Is it reasonable for two people dining to order only appetizers and no main course? The food itself was passable, but those two beef meatballs were shockingly priced at 20 euros. What infuriated me most was the insincere “apology” from the front desk as we left—utterly repulsive! This dining experience left me utterly disappointed, feeling like I'd been toyed with.

11/10/2025: Had brunch at The Gables and tried the Egg Norwegian. Unfortunately, it was a below-average dish — quite dry, and the poached eggs were overcooked. Service was only average, nobody checked on us during our meal, and I was waiting for someone’s attention just to order a glass of water. There was an unpleasant smell and a sticky floor in the ladies’ toilet, which made the place feel poorly maintained. Definitely not the high-standard spot you’d expect.

08/10/2025: I had lunch today from the new menu, a Cajun chicken wrap with chips. absolutely delicious, I'm still thinking about it.. going back again soon... yum. Staff as lovely and friendly as ever, always feel so welcome.

03/10/2025: I really love this pub. It was my first Guinness in Dublin. Super good! The service was also great. I'd like to come here often

09/05/2025: Double check re allergies as the vegetarian dishes may have crustaceans in them. The girl serving changed my order promptly.

08/05/2025: Unfortunately the food was very disappointing. Everything was overcooked and not warm enough when arrived. Our expectations were high, very surprised with what we got.

16/09/2025: This Pub is amazing! Stopped in for a quick pint and ended up back the next day for live music. Staff was super friendly and so were the locals. Definitely make this a stop when in the area.

17/10/2025: I stayed here from October 8th to 11th, 2025, to attend Google's "Google Products Expert Summit 2025 in Dublin." I suddenly encountered a problem with the electricity in my room, but other than that, I had no other issues and enjoyed a comfortable stay. The hotel is located near the Grand Canal, so I enjoyed a walk along the canal promenade before dawn. There were no particular security issues. The hotel staff were friendly, and I had a pleasant stay.

18/09/2025: I stay at the Mespil regularly with work. It's fantastic 4 star hotel with some 5 star quality. The restaurant is good & there's many nice restaurants within walking distance too. The hotel has a small carpark which isn't that common for a city hotel. Notably the breakfast is really really good, a massive spread.

20/08/2025: Lovely coffee and Acai bowl. Field there for kids to play in. Plenty of bench.

09/07/2025: Coffee was lovely. €7 though for two very stale almond croissants was disappointing

10/09/2025: Can’t get over how lovely the staff here are! I brought my dog while meeting a friend for a coffee this morning and all the staff were so friendly and welcoming and even brought my dog a bowl of water while we had our coffee (which was gorgeous btw). Highly recommend

08/09/2025: Superb coffee experience. Cool fit out, skilled baristas and a relaxed chill atmosphere. Worth noting that they don’t have take paper take away cups on Mondays (a great initiative) but do have reusable ecoffee cups. I decided to sit in and enjoy my coffee at the counter and was not disappointed.

21/05/2025: Authentic Pub with a relaxed Ringsend atmosphere. Good pint of Guinness. Good place to enjoy either live music in the pub or watch a game with friends and strangers on Sunday.

22/10/2025: We had a very positive experience on our first visit and will definitely be back. The food was excellent, super tasty, the pasta was fresh and made by an Italian chef. The atmosphere was cozy and comfortable. The service was exceptional, and I'd like to highlight Vinícius for his excellent service, friendliness, and menu recommendations. He made our experience at the restaurant even better. We absolutely recommend it.

19/10/2025: 3.5 stars - The food and atmosphere was great but however, the service felt rushed, with waitstaff repeatedly pressing for orders despite our explaining that we were waiting for three additional guests. This impatience detracted from the overall experience and I believe in any restaurant, paying customers should never feel like an inconvenience. Additionally, the €25 fee for bringing our own cake was disappointing.

19/10/2025: Wonderful welcoming hotel with excellent staff. It is in a great location with good connections to the city centre and elsewhere. The breakfast was delicious and we spent a few nights in the bar which had a great atmosphere and an excellent choice of food and drink.

18/10/2025: A quick stay - only one night. Friendly welcome at the front desk. Free car parking. And breakfast buffet is excellent. Really good value for money. Best

16/09/2025: Beautiful hotel located in a central area, easy walking access to shopping, transit is just outside the door. Service is impeccable, staff are friendly and accommodating, breakfast service is fast and very good, highly recommended. Marjorie, was my go to for breakfast, she was pleasant, funny and welcoming, a great ambassador for the hotel look for her you'll understand my comments! Hotel is a little on the expensive side, but you will not regret the choice, they go out of their way to make you feel welcome and special.
