The Lower Deck Pub

24/05/2025: Lower deck is our local, absolutely love the low key vibes and a gorgeous pint. They started doing breakfast at 9am on the weekend, and it was stunning! Highly recommend.
18/05/2025: Ordered two toasties from the menu. Nothing came out as described.
Both toasties were supposed to be sourdough but ended up being sliced pan.
Ham and cheese was served with easy singles and no caramelised onions as advertised.
The tune melt also came with easy singles and did not include red onions or mixed leaves.
Honestly the toasties were worse than what the average person quickly puts together with a rushed breakfast at home.
Won’t be coming back

26/11/2024: It's been a while, but I've been there four times and each time it's been an experience. Steaks fantastic, side dishes or wines simply fantastic. You definitely pay for the service and the ambience. During my visits there were muffins filled with cheese and butter first. Guys, I've never eaten anything like that before or since. And before that, a nice gin and tonic in the cellar. Simply worth the trip.

04/05/2025: The manager very friendly. We ordered two pasta dishes and one of them was not what we had ordered...so we had to wait for them to make it again. One for the amount of pepper and another for the amount of chili, which were not indicated on the menu, were impossible to finish. I wouldn't go back.

14/06/2025: I was really looking forward to trying this place, but unfortunately, it didn’t fully meet expectations. Several of my friends found their dishes overly salty, which made it hard to enjoy. I had the steak — it was actually quite good in terms of flavor and cooked well, but the portion was surprisingly small for the price. Service was decent, but overall, the value just wasn’t there. Might give it another try, but not in a hurry.
10/06/2025: First of all, you come here for the atmosphere; the restaurant is "hotel chic" with a colorful and warm interior. The staff is also warm and service-oriented. Our waitress made small talk and helped us quickly before a large group wanted to take a seat and order. Very attentive. The lunch itself was delicious!

07/01/2025: I don’t care much for coffee taste- it’s either burnt or drinkable. But this one was different. And it wasn’t by accident. The guy made it with an unprecedented amount of care and delivered it to me with care as well. And when I took a sip I had that moment the food critic has at the end of ratatouille. 5 stars!

17/05/2025: As a gin lover we stopped here on a whim and tried a great local gin, Glendalough Rose, and knew we wanted to come back. After a week touring around Ireland and returning to Dublin, we came back for another drink and decided to try dinner here as well.
Roast chicken was awesome, maybe just a touch dry but the flavors were great and it wasnt a problem with the delicious gravy and potatoes
We also have the Beetroot and goat cheese salad. Probably the healthiest thing I ate in Ireland. Absolutely beautiful and so full of flavor.
We went with the Dingle gin this time and our night was complete.

18/05/2025: As someone from Dublin, I didn’t expect to find this gem after being here for so long. A truly lovely pub with even nicer staff. Great atmosphere, a lovely escape from the hustle and bustle of the streets. A true escape and a lovely pint of guiness.
Would recommend to apsaloutley everyone.

19/05/2025: I had a lovely night staying with you in May. My room was very comfortable and the service I received from Bala, was great. I would highly recommend a stay at the Talbot Hotel. Thank you.
17/05/2025: The only complaint I would have about my room, the very loud thumping music coming from gym in hotel.
I complained in person to a staff member on reception.
I rang down one morning at 6.15 as music had started up again.
I was moved to a quieter room.
I found a bit of difficulty getting in and out of bath.
Next time I would ask for a walk in shower if possible.
The food was lovely.
Your staff on reception and in bistro were so kind and attentive.
I would hope to return in near future for more relaxation and good company.
