The best restaurants in Dublin

18/03/2025: Nice local cafe with very good customer service. Pet friendly too! I loved the scone came with the jam/cream/butter in little dishes and not single packaging. We will be back to try the hot food next time.

10/03/2025: Great spot. Consistently good coffee and food. Sausage rolls are massive and delicious. Outside space in the front and back, comfortable and bright lighting. Service is personable and quick. Overall one of my favs in Dublin.

12/04/2025: I hope Darbar’s management takes action. This is the third time I’ve received wrong ingredients with my takeaway order. Today (12/04), I asked for extra sweet sauce on the side with my Gol Gappay—was told "okay," but it wasn’t included. Same issue happens often with their samosa chaat—ingredients are disappointing. A good restaurant should not allow this level of carelessness.

03/04/2025: On a spontaneous whim, my wife and I decided to visit The Black Forge Inn, primarily due to my admiration for Mr. McGregor. We were immediately captivated by the warm and inviting ambiance, which set the stage for an exceptional dining experience. Our meal began with the Tacos, which were truly delightful. As a personal suggestion, incorporating finely sliced Oshinko pickles in place of the watercress might add an extra layer of flavour and texture to the dish. For the main course, my wife enjoyed the Mushroom Linguine. The blend of cheese, pesto, mushrooms, and pasta was absolutely delicious. I opted for the Fish and Chips; while the flavour was fantastic and the tartar sauce complemented it well, a crispier tempura-beer batter could elevate the flavour and texture. The chips were also amazing. The pricing was particularly impressive, especially considering Dublin's typically high dining costs. A two-course meal accompanied by two drinks totalled €77, which we found to be excellent value. Our server, Brian, was exceptionally friendly, chatty and attentive, enhancing our dining experience. We both really liked Brian as he made us feel welcome from the moment we walked through the door to the moment we left. While parking directly at the pub is limited, we found convenient free parking in the residential area behind the pub/restaurant, which was easy to access despite our cross-city journey. Overall, our visit to The Black Forge Inn exceeded expectations, offering high-quality food, attentive service, and remarkable value. I highly recommend this pub as a must-visit for anyone traveling to Dublin.

07/04/2025: We went for a dinner on a Tuesday. Not that busy. Food was good. But too pricey. We celebrated our friends bday. They have a bottle of complimentary Prosecco and cake. That’s was good gesture. If you ask me will I go back in the next few months. Nop. But it’s a good place for a corporate gathering. They have a good ambience

08/04/2025: Service was great. Food was ok, very over priced, in my opinion. Chicken and chorizo toastie was soggy. Chips were amazing and the best part of the meal. The pancakes seem popular.

20/03/2025: Great surprise as we were just passing by and going to get some tapas in Portobello. Gorgeous food and the service is top. The dumplings were amazing and the my spice seabass is something to remember :) fair play, guys. Keep up with the good work.

19/03/2025: Staff was so kind and explained the menu. The food was DELICIOUS! We got the Vegetarian Spring rolls to start. Best I’ve ever had. We got orange chicken, super good, but the oysters stole the show. Super great food.

07/03/2025: Went to Knights Bar for lunch on 6th. March. To say that it was a disappointment is an understatement. I ordered the chicken rigatoni - big mistake. The dish consisted of a bowl of very dry pasta (no hint of a sauce) with a couple of lumps of chicken on top. Having tried a couple of pieces I decided that it was inedible. When the server asked if I wanted the contents boxed, I declined as I would only be bringing it home to put it in the bin. I also had the chowder to start which was quite good but served in a very shallow bowl - resulting in a minute portion being served. While the bar itself is very impressive and the waiting staff were competent this did not make up for the poor quality and value of food served. I would not be returning nor would I recommend Knights Bar to others.

22/02/2025: We were staying at Clontarf Castle for our final night and really enjoyed our time at Knights Bar. It was steadily busy and still the service was wonderful. The staff were all very friendly, and we especially appreciated Conor and Elaine. They both made our evening wonderful and offered up great recommendations. The Guinness was great and the burger was too. They even got me a scone well after the normal tea time. Glad we had some time to spend at this bar. Well done!

27/03/2025: The order taker seems not happy doing her job. Also, the server look at me like can I afford to pay? Just because I am brown. I know she is not from her too. Just sad reality in the world of service especially in food industry. You come because you want the ambiance but they gave already a wrong vibe. We are just visiting Ireland. I meat real irish they were very nice. Hopefully these 2 lady server should learn how to smile and be nice when approaching customers. Just my piece of experienced.

16/03/2025: I popped back into this pub after being away for a while, and wow, I’m so glad I did! They must’ve changed the chef because the food has been incredible lately. I had an amazing meal – everything was super tasty and well put together. The pub itself is still nice and cozy, and the staff are always really friendly. Definitely happy I gave it another go!
