The best restaurants in Dublin

14/11/2025: The carvery and food here is excellent. Never disappoints. I would say I love going here much more than any fancy restaurant. Had the venison pie today😋 it was lovely

09/11/2025: My first visit, and honestly a bit disappointing. We arrived around 8:30 pm and waited quite a while to order some beers and get the food menu, but no one came over. I ended up going to the bar myself to get the drinks. When I asked a waitress for the menu on my way back, she said the kitchen had just closed — at 8:45 pm, on a busy Saturday night! That’s really disappointing for a place that was still full of customers. Hopefully they can improve both the service and the kitchen hours.

05/12/2025: I am dissapointed after my dining experience last night with my friends. I ordered the duck. The dish itself was presented beautifully on the plate with the crispy skin and garnishes. I thought it was a bit on the pink side but thought maybe it might have been the beetroot dye that had rubbed off it slightly. I started on my fries though and had a small bite of duck. The waitress did come ask us how everything was after about 2 or 3 minutes in which at that point we were mainly enaged in conversation and hadn't eaten much yet so we said everything was okay. I then tucked into my dish but the duck was very hard to cut and very chewy. It was too pink for my liking and I ended up leaving it there. Typically Irish and not wanting to be fussy, I didn't say anything until the waiter came over approximately 10 minutes later at this point, when he saw I'd left my plate fairly full with the duck. I explained what was wrong and he said he'd speak to the chef. On his return he told me that the chef said the duck was perfect and that is how they cook it there. He said the chef also tasted it and said there was nothing wrong with it. To add more weight to his point of view, he told me that the chef was also the owner. He then said he was sorry for my experience and I should have said something earlier (fair enough) I said that I disagreed with it being perfect and that customer feedback was important but it seemed to be dismissed. I want to point out that I was not looking for a free meal or a discount. And at no point did the waiter offer anything at all either as a goodwill gesture. For me, the issue was them not acknowledging that there was a problem. Thats what I couldn't understand. I felt awkward and annoyed at myself for not voicing my dissatisfaction "2 minutes into the meal" With hindsight, despite the chef/owner disagreeing with me, it was really just put back on me that I was wrong and didn't know how duck should be cooked.( *Duck is one of my favourite dishes that I order at least twice a month when dining out) The bill came and we paid the full amount and left a tip for the waitress that served us too. But from a customer service point, I really am disappointed and I will not eat here again.

30/09/2025: Fantastic food, tastes so fresh. Friendly service, in a quaint setting. Would most especially recommend the halloumi taco starter.

17/12/2025: Food is OK. Good portion size and lunch was good value. Nice food, but felt like it lacked authenticity. Ice cream soft serve a nice touch. No beers on tap.

16/12/2025: Rice noodles were so smelly and stinky as they cooked day before and service was not good

02/12/2025: We had the Beef and Guiness Stew and Fish and Chips, the dishes were just OK. The stew (€23) was a a bit cold and the fish (€24) was very thin for being 'Atlantic Cod', also too greasy and the chips were cold with cardboard texture. OK, for a pub meal but definitely not worth the price.

19/10/2025: Today I was here by accident because I wanted to eat something but I'm really shocked. I ate well and it was tasty and healthy. I love Polish and Hungarian cuisine The Lady working there was very nice, very kind, we had a great conversation, I really recommend going there, you will be greeted with a smile and a kind word, I recommend it

13/12/2025: Came across Hillbilly's Walkinstown by chance the other night and I was very impressed. Food was excellent, staff very friendly and the place just looks the part.I don't do reviews generally but in this case, credit where credit is due.

06/12/2025: Just had a reunion of past workers,a great night ...but the entertainment started and was very loud for a confined space....this affected the conversations and couldn't hear anyone. Otherwise a good night for our meeting up.We hope to return in the New Year. Regards

24/08/2025: Great venue for a work event. Right on the river you can do team building racing on the river followed by a BBQ and a nice bar and function room for a few beers.

31/07/2025: Had a family party here , would recommend to anyone for a small private function, good facilities and ambience. The club members were very helpful as well.

11/12/2025: I got the platter for one and it was amazing. The briskets are soft and juicy. The rib was delcious. Heck even the chicken was well seasoned and falling off the bone still juicy. The portion was definitely generous - The leftovers covered my lunch the next day. Price is 30 for the platter but you can get less expensive stuff and it's still amazing. The staff was welcoming and nice. The atmosphere was warm. I liked the texas vibes. Keep up the good work 👍🏽

20/10/2025: Lovely decorated cafe with an abundance of gorgeous cakes (haven't eaten any so can't comment) Unfortunately the unfriendly staff, who border on being rude, let's it down every time. The final straw was yesterday, Sunday, when I was left standing at the counter while the young waitress counted money at the till. She made no comment on the delay and totally ignored me. After 3/4 minutes, I gave an exasperated sigh & the male waiter, who was standing nearby, came to take my order. No apology & of course, no smile or comment made. Obviously people go there as it's a nicely decorated cafe with a great array of cakes. But I can take my business elsewhere where the customers are treated with some respect. We are after all, keeping these surly staff in a job

09/10/2025: Hi I love everything about Taste of Province. I come almost every, my family and friends meet me there a lot. One thing that is upsetting is the cleaner, she makes so much noise, pushing the tables and chairs around .
