Santoor

Oranmore
02/10/2025: Forgot parts of order. Wouldn't deliver them, didn't offer refund.
20/09/2025: Customer of Santoor for many years. Our recent takeaway was very disappointing. Nan bread tough with garlic granules instead of fresh garlic. Jumbo prawn appetiser tasted like a piece of fried bread. Verg dissatisfied.

Spice Village Indian Restaurant

Blessington
16/09/2025: Really liked this place! Staff are so nice and accommodating, food was soooo good! So many flavours!! , really good!
30/08/2025: I have been coming to this restaurant for years, mostly for takeaway. Although I have not had takeaway for a about 3 months. I was very disappointed mostly with the cost of the takeaway as it does not represent fair value for what you get. It’s quite simply overpriced. The food quality has always been very good. Tonight the food was all good except the Dal Tarka-Side which we always get it was all sauce and very few lentils and lacked flavour €8.99 for this small side. Our children normally get a chicken tikka masala to share, in the past I’ve found the quantity of chicken very small so I ordered a starter of chicken pakora so they’d have more chicken rather than a second tikka masala which would be too much. The chicken pakora was 3 pieces of chicken for €8.99. (See photo) The chicken tikka masala shared by the kids is actually €15.99 so add the extra chicken starter at €8.99 this is just to make it enough of a meal for two kids. No main dish comes with Pulao rice and rice is charged at €3.70. We essentially shared two mains between 2 adults and 2 children but got two additional sides and the total for take away is €63.36. Trust me for the portion sizes in terms of the meat or paneer it is way overpriced. The portion size of the chicken starter is way overpriced. The lentil side dish was severely lacking lentils, bland and was overpriced. This dish was never like this in the past. Having used this restaurant for a long time, this will be my last. I will happily travel much further to receive better value and consistency. I’ve given it three stars on this review as generally the food is good but value for money it is certainly not.

Shanai

Dublin
07/09/2025: Best Authentic Indian Restaurant in Dublin without a doubt ! The food is packed with real flavors — fresh naan, perfectly spiced curries, and a biryani that’s full of aroma, my favourite is “Mixed Biriyani”. Nothing feels watered down, it’s true Indian cooking done right. The staff are warm, friendly, and always happy to recommend dishes. Great portions, fair prices, and a cozy atmosphere. If you love genuine Indian food, this is the place to go if you’re around South Dublin!
06/06/2025: I had high hopes for Shanai, given its promise of authentic Indian flavours, but unfortunately, the experience fell flat. The food was underwhelming – lacking the bold spices and richness you’d expect from Indian cuisine. Dishes tasted bland and uninspired, missing the depth and warmth that define a good Indian meal. Service was equally lacklustre, with staff seeming disengaged and the overall atmosphere failing to make up for the culinary shortcomings. Compared to other Indian restaurants in Dublin that deliver on both flavour and hospitality, Shanai simply doesn’t hold up. If you’re looking for an authentic and flavourful Indian dining experience, there are certainly better options elsewhere in the city.

28/09/2025: 10/10. It’s what you want when you think of getting an Indian
27/09/2025: We spent nearly €80 and asked why we needed to pay for poppodams and Dips as the people beside us were getting their for free and been told we didn’t order enough food. That was not a good feeling. Definitely won’t go back again ☹️ 👎👎👎

Village Inn

Cork
20/07/2025: I ordered the "kebab box" from this establishment and got a small box mostly filled with chips. I returned to the shop to tell them I didn't order chips and that chips were not in the description of the "kebab box" only to be told that of course chips are included in the kebab box. Doesn't seem logical to me, would avoid.
24/05/2025: The pepperoni pizza was of really good quality. As the pizza sauce had a nice, smoky flavour, which I liked. They weren't mean with the toppings, as there was plenty of cheese and pepperoni on my 10 inch pizza. The pizza was delivered on time and the two ladies delivering also were really kind, as they were smiling, which means that they have good service. I gave 0 starts for the atmosphere, as I got delivery and I haven't actually been to the restaurant, which will be unfair to rate it, so I just left it at 0 stars.

Peppers

Waterford
18/09/2025: Party of 4 adults and 1 child. We dined here 2 weeks ago and I’ve been meaning to write a review. We usually get takeaway from here as it’s the best of a bad bunch in Waterford. This time someone suggested we dine in the restaurant; I was hesitant, as I am with most restaurants in Waterford. I’m anxious how Waterford restaurants will charge for subpar food. However, this day Peppers achieved excellence! It was honestly one of the best meals I’ve ever had in a restaurant. Our dining party members are no strangers to Indian cuisine and, in our collective opinion, this was exceptional. Some at the table complained about the wait time, but they had other engagements so they don’t count lol I thought the wait times were perfect. Allowed for chat and starter to settle. Upon tasting the food I realised where that time went. The chef put time and love into the food. Service was very good too. Bring your own wine is a nice touch. I’m looking forward to going back again. Btw the child in our group is a fussy eater and he ordered chicken nuggets and chips - so embarrassing - although Peppers obliged him. Top marks!
13/09/2025: My 1st time going and last time 😬 Korma was lovely, staff were nice, nan was terrible and had buckets of coconut inside and the bread was hard . We booked a table for 5.10, we arrived at that time, it took 30 minutes to get starters for 4 people (ther was only 2 tables occupied in the place and the other table already had there food so shouldnt have taken long at all). What was worse was waiting a further hour or so on the actual main course (now i know why they let people bring drink in, youd need it for all the waiting). I was supposed to be at my neices part at 6.30 , we didnt get out of the restaurant till 7.30 , the whole night was ruined by the delay, i had alot of appologising to do to my neice, and i was late collecting her friend for the party aswel, and they had 30 minutes left of the party as they had school the next morning. I wouldnt ever go to peppers again because of the waiting around, never had to wait that long for food before in my 40 years . I see that im not the only 1 that has said that food takes years to cook here in an almost empty restaurant every single time .

Gaylord Spices

Navan (an uaimh)
31/08/2025: Ordered for delivery and everything was incredibly sweet. It tasted like they dumped a ton of sugar into every dish, even after trying to “fix” the dishes with lemon juice and more spices it was better but still way sweeter compared to any Indian dishes I’ve had before.
20/08/2025: Great food and great service, but quiet when we went but the service made up for it. .

10/08/2025: Finally!! An Indian that focuses on taste rather than just blow your head off with hot. One of the tastiest Indian's I've ever had. Highly recommend the buffet! Waiter, she couldn't have been nicer. Highly recommend.

The Silver Oak

Mullingar
19/10/2025: Unfortunately, I had a very unpleasant experience at Silver Oak in Mullingar. The customer service was awful – not because of the waitresses, who were polite and friendly, but because of the man standing behind the counter (I think it was the takeaway section). When we entered, he rudely waved his hand at us to move further inside, without a word. A nice waitress then approached us and led us to a small table in the corner. We had sat there before and knew it was very uncomfortable, so since there was only one other group in the restaurant, we politely asked if we could sit at another table. After a moment’s thought, the waitress agreed. However, as soon as we sat down, that same man rushed over — a rather rude, balding man of Indian appearance — and asked sharply how many people we were. When we said “two”, he pointed at the small corner table and said, “That one. This is a table for four, that one is for two.” I asked again if we could sit at the bigger table, and he repeated the same thing in a very unpleasant tone. We decided to leave. Just a few steps away, we went into another restaurant where the difference in attitude was striking — the waitress greeted us with a big smile and said we could sit anywhere we liked. It was supposed to be a belated birthday dinner for my friend, whom I rarely see, and this experience really spoiled the evening for me. I definitely won’t be going back to Silver Oak again — thankfully, Mullingar has plenty of much friendlier places to choose from.
14/10/2025: Really nice restaurant, food was really good
