Spice Cove
Dublin
22/06/2025: Ordered delivery. Expected to wait 40 min but arrived in half the time, a wonderful surprise. We ordered the butter chicken, tandoori chicken, chicken biryani, and samosas. All were decent sized portions which filled us up. Favorite dish was the tandoori chicken (I wish we got a second order of this instead of the butter chicken). The dishes also came with different chutneys (tamarind, mint, yogurt & cucumber) and we liked all. Only critique is more chicken would have been nice in the butter chicken. Will be ordering again!
07/06/2025: Have been ordering from Spice Cove for years. Never had a bad meal. Absolutely delicious. Highly recommend the Saag and the Shashi Mugh. And the kebabs. Wow!!!

Planet Spice
Clonmel
15/06/2025: From the moment we walked in the door we were treated poorly, The man at the counter was rude and nearly sent us away as we arrived at 9 and it says online that they close at 11 o clock he didn’t want to seat us because he said they close at 10 o clock, as we got seated he rushed us with our order(didn’t even get a chance to look at the menu) before he came over, as we were leaving at 10 past 10 he was still taking orders over the phone and seating people, the food was alright but would not recommend if you appreciate good customer service
26/05/2025: I have to say the quality has really declined from my first post, the recipes have changed, the portions are getting much smaller while the prices have gone right up, While the food is still nice it's nowhere near the quality it used to be, it's no longer great value

29/05/2025: Timeline of a disappointment. May 28th - 17.09 received email announcing jazz night 2 course meal on Friday 20th for €25, 17.24 replied querieing date, 17.27 reply apologising for error and confirming date of 30th, 17.33 received email confirming reservation, 18.05 received amended email for same deal but on corrected date, 21.04 received phone call advising of error about price, 21.12 received email confirming cancellation. Reminds me of the booking I made a couple of years ago for a Christmas meal for a party of five on the 2nd Tuesday of December, only to receive a phone call late on the afternoon of the 2nd cancelling the reservation because the restaurant wasn't open!

01/07/2025: I love the food here. It’s always fresh and delicious. The staff are always polite and friendly and the delivery service is great. I’ve never been disappointed. Highly recommended.
19/06/2025: I know this restaurant for many, many years and always very happy. Last time I gave even 5 stars because food was amazing, but toda I'm extremely disappointed 😞
Beef biryani doesn't even taste similar to the biryani. Is disgusting. Some Madras curry powder mixed with rice, meat and veg. It's bitter and doesn't taste like authentic food. Same with prawns pakora, it is just breaded prawn! Aloo bonda supposed to have some flavor and taste. Your website says "Aloo Bonda -
Coated potato balls flavoured with a tempering of mustard seeds, curry leaf and peanut" - I didn't taste mustard seeds, curry leaves or peanuts, I got instead tasteless breaded potatoes with some tumeric.
If you have a new chef please teach him how to cook authentic food and stop cheating people.

19/05/2025: Had a wonderful dinner tonight and received excellent service from Sam and the staff. Dinner was served promptly, preceded by tasty appetizers, the food was piping hot and absolutely delicious. Sadly they are not opening a restaurant in my home town in Canada. I’ll have to return. Doug. Toronto, Canada
13/05/2025: Mixed bag.
Butter chicken is the best! Nan can be great one night, stale the next. Always like the atmosphere here. Go on quiet nights, you'll have a wonderful night out! However, beware the busy nights: they are nearly always under-staffed and you'll wait a long time for takeouts with your food then lukewarm. Floor service suffers too on busy nights.
I know some (more knowledgeable) Indian customers have complained about the food but we've always been very happy with the Biryani and the Butter Chicken and we go there about once a month.
Btw, the manager could do with handling complaints a bit better.

10/07/2025: 🏆 Michelin Tire Award for Excellence in Jaw Endurance
1 Star (because zero wasn’t an option)
Category: Most Relentless Misrepresentation of Lamb Biryani.
Let me paint you a picture. I, a humble survivor of many a food disappointment, placed my trust (and money) in what I thought was going to be a comforting, flavorful lamb biryani. What I received, instead, was a masterclass in how to assassinate expectations and ruin someone's evening.
I want to be absolutely clear, I’m not awarding this dish a Michelin star. That would imply some semblance of quality. No, I’m awarding it what it truly deserves: a Michelin tire, because the lamb tasted like it was carved off a radial sidewall and braised in remorse. Every chew was a negotiation. My jaw filed a union complaint. I didn’t eat that biryani, I endured it.
This wasn’t “cooked” lamb. This was “slow-chewed” regret. A meditative exercise in dental attrition. Every bite was a war crime against flavor, and every swallow was an existential question.
Who cooked this? And why do they hate happiness?
What spice mix did they use, printer toner?
Was the recipe: “Find meat, remove joy, replace with despair”?
I ordered the dish expecting 'comfort food'. What I got was needing therapy and floss. And possibly a jaw reconstruction specialist.
Gordon Ramsay wouldn’t yell, he’d just walk out in silence and softly weep into a raw scallop.
08/07/2025: Quick service and a wide variety of tasty dishes.

01/07/2025: Highly recommend this restaurant. By far the best restaurant to get Indian food in the area. All of the parts of the dishes were excellent - I ordered the Egg Fried Rice, Garlic/Onion/Coriander Naan and Lamb Phall. All elements of the dishes were excellent with exceptional flavour. The spices of all dishes can be customised to order and the staff are very friendly. The restaurant itself is a nice space and a luxury experience with a great selection of dishes and sides - would definitely recommend if in the area.
23/06/2025: Everything was sweet, even the spicy curries and lamb is raw not properly cooked in the curry

03/07/2025: Delicious food and friendly staff
01/07/2025: Lamb biryani lamb was soft. Whole wheat roti and veg pakora is also good.
They need to find better chef who makes better curries. Manchurian needs to have some vegetables in it. Tandoori momo is just big ball of chicken tbh.
With so many new Indian places coming up and existing takeaways in blanch they have to raise their game.
