The Irish Arms

17/05/2025: On May 17, we stopped here shortly after 1 p.m. during an e-bike tour from Liscannor to Doolin.
Surprisingly, a lunch menu was already available at that time, in addition to the usual lunch offerings.
We ate a delicious vegetable soup and the roast of the day, consisting of turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, savoy cabbage, peas, carrots, and gravy.
We highly recommend this dish.
The pub itself is typically Irish and very cozy, and the owner is warm and hospitable.
We cannot comment on the rooms available for rent.
06/05/2025: We just arrived from Canada and entered the Irish Arms. We were not greeted or given eye contact from the bartender server. Never having tasted an Irish lager, I asked for a small sample. Her abrupt reply: we don't give samples. We left.

Visited this cafe with my 6 year old niece, she was given a colouring page with crayons she could bring home!

06/05/2025: Service was very poor here by management - we had an issue with our meal - a fly crawled out of the salad and onto the fish. We reported it to the trainee waitress who took it away back to the kitchen and did not return to our table once to apologise or anything and completly ignored us after.
They must have sprayed fly spray as there was another dead fly on the table. When we requested the bill from another waitress the fish was still on it and I explained the situation again and she said she would let a manager know. The fish was removed from the bill but we felt they didnt believe that the fly was in the food even though the trainee waitress saw it and carried it still on the plate crawling back to the kitchen!!!
Management should have came and apologised and we tried to get their attention times but were ignored - very poor service for the price. Will not be returning.
19/01/2025: Como siempre, un servicio absolutamente fabuloso. Teníamos una mesa junto al fuego. El gerente y el personal eran muy atentos. Muy razonable precio y excelente comida. Definitivamente vale la pena.

18/05/2025: With only here to come to before bag drop we sat down asked for menus, looking for drinks but given food menus. One decided to order food, went to bar to order 4 drinks & a hotdog charged nearly 50 euros on card then someone came to tell us kitchen closed refunded in euros (considering we here leaving) & nothing said when menus given or while ordering & paying. Take away bit was open so ordered a toasted sandwich & a panini charged 18 euros for it, stone cold & full of grease, a stale sandwich from whsmiths is better value

The Sheridan Bar
25/04/2025: Just had the worst fish and chips ever. It use to be a lovely bar with nice food. Don't know what happened but it has been getting worse and worse for the last year or two. Recently someone came up with a great idea to replace the waiting staff with an app. Unfortunately the app doesn't clean the tables and they look like mess.
15/04/2025: Absolutely awful, got there and queued to order... Only to be told we could only have chicken goujons and chips... Seriously the only option is fried food! I ordered 4 and only received 1... I went back up to the bar staff and no apology as they did not ring through the correct order. In fact the staff were so rude!
Do not bother trying to eat on Shannon Airport!

13/05/2025: Hands down a beautiful meal. I was there with my family, in total about 22 people. We were well looked after from the moment we arrived, great service to great food and great value.
To be honest I was expecting the bill to be considerably more than what it was. Lovely food, lovely wine 🍷 great sevice.
If you’re in Ennis and you’re hungry for real food check it out.
06/04/2025: Excellent service for a group of 20 .. clam and friendly service nothing an issue. Food was very generous and tasty I would highly recommend.

Shannigan's Gastro Pub
09/10/2024: Tuve una experiencia difícil en Shannigans recientemente. Pedí risotto con chorizo y champiñones. Me sirvieron. Noté un sabor y textura inusuales. Me preguntaba si eran mariscos, y asumí que debía ser algún hongo exótico. Sin chorizo.
Después le pregunté al personal en servicio qué me habían servido. Era un risotto de mejillón. Me alarmé porque tengo alergia a los mariscos. Afortunadamente no tuve una reacción a los moluscos, aunque pasé varias horas en cierta ansiedad en cuanto a si / cuándo podría estallar.
Hablé con el personal en servicio, que se disculpó y me remitió al gerente de turno. También se disculpó y me pidió que le diera mi nombre y número al hotel para que pudieran verme en las próximas horas y días.
El hotel no me ha contactado.
Mi queja es que es irresponsable y peligroso sustituir un plato sin referirse al cliente. Y muy especialmente reemplazar un plato de carne / verdura y arroz con un plato de arroz y moluscos, los moluscos son conocidos alérgenos y los habría evitado en caso de que provocaran una reacción alérgica. Considero esto como un error muy grave, peligroso y potencialmente fatal por parte del hotel.
Hasta la fecha no he tenido noticias de ellos.
Para un hotel que pretende altos estándares esto es un grave fracaso en mi opinión.
04/10/2024: Fabulosa comida y gran servicio. Una forma brillante de matar una o dos horas antes de ir al aeropuerto. El servicio fue rápido y amable. La comida y las bebidas eran muy agradables. ¡El pescado con papas fritas fue excelente! Algunas de las otras reseñas parecen un poco malas. Teniendo en cuenta lo bonito que es el lugar, creo que ofrece una gran relación calidad-precio. BTW Robert es fabuloso también
