19/01/2025: Como siempre, un servicio absolutamente fabuloso. Teníamos una mesa junto al fuego. El gerente y el personal eran muy atentos. Muy razonable precio y excelente comida. Definitivamente vale la pena.
21/12/2024: Mi hija cumplió 18 años aquí hoy y ella y sus amigas estaban en la luna. Todos estaban muy contentos con el servicio y la calidad de la comida! Sin duda recomendaría!

The Pantry

26/08/2024: The sandwiches at The Pantry are hard to beat. Top-quality ingredients, generous portions and a wide variety of options. Their scones and carrot cake are also well worth trying. The only downside is a lack of indoor seating which surely is a bit of a must given the unpredictable weather on the west coast.
26/08/2024: I have been going to Kilkee for the last forty years, and The Pantry has gotten progressively bewildering in what it is trying to achieve. Back in the day, it was a thriving Café and bakery, serving cooked breakfasts, sandwiches, and delicious treats. They have changed a lot over the years, and the current layout doesn't do it justice. The majority of the space is taken up with what I assume is intended to be an Italian style Delhi, with displays of jams, wines, olive oils and pastas. This runs alongside a hot counter and baked goods stand, and a seperate coffee counter. This peculiar layout is entirely at the expense of adequate indoor seating, in the wilds of west clare. There are a handful of small tables inside the front door, and an outdoor seating area with no awning or umbrellas despite frequent heavy rain. The food is very good quality, but you are paying Café prices for essentially take-away food, which is served in single use plastic, even if you are eating "in", and the staff can be gruff. The Pantry gets away with this solely because of the lack of competition. Save your money and head for Beag in Kilrush.

12/03/2025: Ordered the food and drinks and eventually when it arrived I told the waiter that there were drinks to accompany the food and he said “that’s not my problem “ I said excuse me and he just walked in to the kitchen and ignored me. Horrible experience just for management this happened at 16.01 on the 12th of march and I’m will to I D the staff member if necessary
13/02/2025: Had a burger there last week. It was burnt on the outside and stone cold on the inside. Ok for a drink but not for a bite to eat.

20/12/2024: Had Christmas party/dinner. All the food was delicious. Great choice. Goats cheese starter. Prawns. Mains. Wild Bass, Lamb Chops fantastic. Turkey and all the trimmings. Brilliant meal. Great service.
27/10/2024: Cannot praise this restraunt enough 5 of us had the most beautiful meal there on saturday night the dining room was full and yet we got seated and looked after immediatedly the food from the starters to the deserts it was just beautiful and a special thank you to the two brilluant girls bridie and ann marie who served us and made our night so special and the lads behind the bar who served us our drinks a big thank you to one and all

19/12/2024: Disappointed with food standard. Ordered the Chicken and Stuffing Wrap with chips. Wrap was cold and hard, 2 small breaded chicken goujons and a smear of stuffing. Slow service also, as appeared to be understaffed. Not good value for money. Portions have decreased and the cost does not reflect.
22/10/2024: We arrived for a late lunch and were extremely disappointed. The meals were okay nothing outstanding. Desserts were disappointing and very high priced. To top it off there was little or no service. Every time we wanted tea, dessert, or the check, we had to search for to find someone. Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Shannigan's Gastro Pub
09/10/2024: Tuve una experiencia difícil en Shannigans recientemente. Pedí risotto con chorizo y champiñones. Me sirvieron. Noté un sabor y textura inusuales. Me preguntaba si eran mariscos, y asumí que debía ser algún hongo exótico. Sin chorizo.
Después le pregunté al personal en servicio qué me habían servido. Era un risotto de mejillón. Me alarmé porque tengo alergia a los mariscos. Afortunadamente no tuve una reacción a los moluscos, aunque pasé varias horas en cierta ansiedad en cuanto a si / cuándo podría estallar.
Hablé con el personal en servicio, que se disculpó y me remitió al gerente de turno. También se disculpó y me pidió que le diera mi nombre y número al hotel para que pudieran verme en las próximas horas y días.
El hotel no me ha contactado.
Mi queja es que es irresponsable y peligroso sustituir un plato sin referirse al cliente. Y muy especialmente reemplazar un plato de carne / verdura y arroz con un plato de arroz y moluscos, los moluscos son conocidos alérgenos y los habría evitado en caso de que provocaran una reacción alérgica. Considero esto como un error muy grave, peligroso y potencialmente fatal por parte del hotel.
Hasta la fecha no he tenido noticias de ellos.
Para un hotel que pretende altos estándares esto es un grave fracaso en mi opinión.
04/10/2024: Fabulosa comida y gran servicio. Una forma brillante de matar una o dos horas antes de ir al aeropuerto. El servicio fue rápido y amable. La comida y las bebidas eran muy agradables. ¡El pescado con papas fritas fue excelente! Algunas de las otras reseñas parecen un poco malas. Teniendo en cuenta lo bonito que es el lugar, creo que ofrece una gran relación calidad-precio. BTW Robert es fabuloso también
