10/05/2025: This bar has delicious pizza and beer. Very good coffee. They have a wonderful outdoor area by the river but unfortunately it is only open in the evening and only in good weather. It took me a while for everything to coincide and I was able to visit their area by the river. Everything was great

Fish & Chips; Prawn (8 prawns) linguini; one dessert; 2 coffees and 1 pint… €75 yo yo’s (plus tip).. No wonder there were only 6 other folks dining.. Check the menu / prices before booking wud be my advice..

01/11/2024: I didn't find a breakfast room as I read on other reviews, but I bought an Apple pie and a scones. They were excellent. Especially scones which tend to be a ball of dough, whereas theirs maintained an excellent balance between the crunchy outside and the center which remains cooked but moist thanks to the generous portion of raisins

15/03/2025: A very full pub, but they'll always fit you in. I had a beautiful salad, with smoked salmon and brown bread... And the obligatory pint of stout! Very reasonable and excellent service. But hey, the music has started, magic..

12/03/2025: We have been in Ireland from Canada for a half week now and between visiting the Cliffs of Moher and other things in the Burrens, we stopped here to eat today (March 12, 2025). My husband had the soup of the day and fish and chips, and I had the seafood chowder and a wagyu burger. This was hands down the best meal we have had in Ireland so far. The chowder was so fresh, it melted in my mouth, and the burger was exactly what I needed after several days of hiking around the country. My husband loved his meal too. The hospitality was amazing, and exactly what we have come to expect in this beautiful country. I want to shout from the rooftops, do not just wait until you are in the neighbourhood. Go visit this place now for amazing, fresh, locally sourced food!

01/03/2025: I had the sea food chowder and wings , without doubt the best sea chowder I have ever ever eaten ,, I was absolutely lost for words , the staff were really friendly and helpful. I honestly can't wait to eat there again ,,, it truly is not to be missed . Thank you all for a wonderful meal and experience. Barry.

27/04/2025: Had fish and chips for dinner…fish, I asked if locally sourced was assured it was…was wafer thin, dry, greasy batter, suspect was frozen. Breakfast was poor, cheapest sausage ever had, black and white pudding obviously sat under hot lamps for ages. Honestly, stayed in Travelodge two days before and the breakfast was better. This place pretends to be something it isn’t when it comes to food served, it’s not worth the price.

20/02/2025: Such a charming hotel in the cutest little town. The decor pulls you in right away and has you asking questions about where you are laying your head. Once you find out, it makes your stay just a tab bit more relaxing. The staff were awesome, plus helpful with whatever questions or needs we needed, because we had a lot. Once I arrived in my room I was drawn to one of the softest beds I’ve ever slept in. Needless to say, I enjoyed my stay at the Temple Gate.
