Barrtra Seafood Restaurant

16/04/2026: We were here for the surprise menu. It was simply fantastic. All the components complemented each other perfectly. The oysters were divine; we regretted not ordering more. They were the best we've ever had. I'd also like to give a special mention to Jeanie, who was a wonderful hostess, and the wines were absolutely top-notch. It's definitely worth a visit, especially for those who want to treat themselves to a multi-course meal; the prices are excellent! Thank you so much!
11/04/2026: A beautiful little restaurant right on the Lahinch coast. We had a fantastic evening and truly felt like guests. We had the seafood and meat surprise menus. Every dish was amazing and cooked with locally sourced ingredients. The oyster appetizer was one of the best we've ever had.

Pot Duggans

Ennistymon
11/05/2026: This is mostly a focus on the food from a vegan perspective. Sunday is clearly the wrong day to visit. We were doing a lot of driving and passing through so we were excited about the vegan options they supposedly had. When we went, they had a limited menu and it was limited to the Latin foods which is not my thing. I certainly did not come to Ireland to eat Salvadorian food! Needless to say, it was a big disappointment. The corn ribs were good though. We don’t drink so the bar aspect of the place would be a miss for us though I liked when they had Irish music playing. The place has a run down farm feel also but maybe that’s on purpose. We made reservations. We were at a point that looking elsewhere to eat was going to be rough so we stuck it out. Had it been earlier we would have just left. Beans were refried which scare me. 😅😂 The “pico de gallo” was made with cherry tomatoes. 😅 It was a total miss. They did make an effort though and the food was edible so we didn’t go hungry so there’s that. 😄
04/05/2026: Delicious, very cool setting, live music

Morrissey's

Doonbeg
17/05/2026: Great cozy place! Good selection of drinks! Delicious, but the menu is "like everyone else's." Very clean, good service. A great spot for birdwatching.
16/05/2026: Wonderful, kind and friendly service, and the food is excellent as well. It’s a bit more expensive than usual (comparable to the Temple Bar district in Dublin), but the price-performance ratio is absolutely fair. Definitely worth a stop if you’re passing through!

The Long Dock

11/05/2026: The whole family had a very good experience at the Long Dock pub. It was recommended by our host during our stay in Co. Clare, and I’m glad she did. Great food and a lovely spot, especially on a sunny day with the live music. The mussels are a must‑try. The only small suggestion would be a wider selection of tap (local) beers, but overall we really enjoyed it.
09/05/2026: Booked an early meal this evening and so very happy that we did so. My husband chose the Irish Stew which had plenty of lamb and was full of flavour. It could only have been better with a slice of bread to accompany it. For myself, I chose the Crab and Mussel Linguine from the Specials Board. Probably the most enjoyable seafood linguine I have had. Full of crab. Apparently it was sold out within 40 minutes of our being seated. Congratulations to the chef for this addition to the menu and to the young lady and gentleman serving us, who made us feel very welcome.

An Teach Bia

Ennistymon
10/05/2026: Local atmosphere, very friendly service and staff
30/03/2026: An Teach Bia is my go-to place to eat when I am in Ennistymon. It's the place to get breakfast, lunch or an early dinner and is popular with locals and visitors alike. Tandoori Chicken is my usual order ... served with a good portion of chips and a green salad ... I'm happy out :) The specials Board is always worth a look too.

Cruises

Ennis
10/05/2026: We had such a fun night out here. Live music, amazing energy, and such a mixed bag of demographics. Truly feels like it’s for everyone. Nice to have a pub vibe, back patio, cocktail bar and live music venue all in the same place.
02/05/2026: Lovely atmosphere, great music, and really friendly staff. I spent about €50 on the same cocktail throughout the night — it looked amazing and was easy to drink, but definitely on the lighter side. I actually left feeling less buzzed than when I arrived, which was a bit disappointing. I do feel they had very little alcohol for the price.

Hotel Woodstock

29/10/2025: Family-run, medium-sized hotel with a very relaxed atmosphere. The location is perfect if you're traveling by car and want to explore the Irish west coast south of Galway. There's a restaurant, a bar with a limited menu, and a gym with a pool. Highly recommended!
26/10/2025: Had a very pleasant late cheese toastie and beer here after walk on the beach. Very smart inside. Ideal for family lunches.

Rathbaun Hotel

Lisdoonvarna
02/10/2025: Myself and my two friends came for the weekend from Dublin and all three of us would highly recommend this hotel. Call greeted us on arrival and was so helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean, had fresh towels and nice and warm room. The breakfast and food was outstanding. The service we received in the restaurant was excellent. The girls were so friendly and i would highly recommend this hotel. Beautiful little town with the nicest people in it. The cleaners also refilled the little kitkats every morning in our coffee station which was such a lovely touch. We will defiantly be back. Thank you for a lovely stay.
