16/05/2025: Just had a quick bite here which I enjoyed. Staff attentive and prices reasonable. Food was good.

08/05/2025: This is a lovely cafe restaurant with the best of food and excellent friendly friendly service. One of the many highlights was when the main lady gave me soda bread with our breakfast as I asked about it as customer s beside our table near to us were having it. This cafe makes their own bread and buns and the prices are so reasonable. The food is really well freshly cooked and presented and the friendly staff makes this a place not to be missed. I highly recommend and I'm looking forward to being back again very soon .

04/07/2025: Next to last evening in Ireland on our honeymoon. Tasted fantastic and rare Whiskeys you can't find in the states. Damian and Staff are top quality. Wonderful spot for a pint or a bite.

17/06/2025: We held our family reunion at Stella Maris in Kilkee in June 2025, with relatives joining us from all around the world. It was a large group, including many happy young children, and the team at Stella Maris couldn’t have been more welcoming and accommodating. The food was absolutely delicious, with a full menu that offered something for everyone in our group. The quality was superb, and the variety ensured all tastes were catered for. The cocktail menu was extensive and expertly made, adding an extra touch of celebration to the occasion. A special highlight was the personalized menu featuring a welcome message for our family reunion — such a thoughtful and meaningful gesture that truly made us feel at home. We can’t thank the staff enough for helping make our reunion so memorable. Highly recommended!

27/06/2025: A fabulous pub with very good food. The hostess is lovely, very friendly and has a great sense of humour. We had a very nice lunch here and we asked about a local hairdresser for my wife. Well she got on the phone and within 5 minutes we had an appointment for the next day. Excellent service.

23/06/2025: Stopped for dinner and everything was very nice! We had the voulevant and soup for starters, both were delicious! Also had the steak sandwich and baked chicken special and the portions were massive and everything was delicious.

26/05/2025: Lovely place which has the best of both with a proper traditional pub and a cosy modern restaurant. We booked ahead as a family of 7, and despite there being a small wedding party at the same time, the service was great, very attentive, and helpful. A good menu, with tasty food and generous portions. The coffee was surprisingly good too. I only wish I could've stayed longer to enjoy a few pints.

20/05/2025: Absolutely delicious food, great service and a very pretty environment. Bathrooms were very clean too. Just a lovely place. I would recommend it.

28/05/2025: My Wife and I enjoyed a light lunch at Preachers pub on Wednesday 28th May 2025 and it was wonderful. My Wife opted for chicken wings and a latte, while I chose Soup and Coffee, both wonderful. Thank you Alice, Sean and Jack for a delightful experience. We will be back.

19/04/2025: Top class service. Well trained staff. Top class food. Great location. Was not overly busy, so the atmosphere was a little subdued, but this suited me perfectly. Highly recommend.

17/05/2025: Recently finished a motorcycle trip round some of the Wild Atlantic Way and this place was definitely one of the highlights of the trip. It was recommended by our hotel who booked us a table at very short notice which was very helpful as when we arrived the place was packed. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. We tried one of the beers they make in their own microbrewery which was excellent. For starters my wife had the chowder and I had the prawns from the specials board. Both were excellent. We both had the steak and ale pie, with mash and my wife thought the gravy which came with the mash was amazing. The live music was very good (obviously depends whether you like traditional Irish music or not). What I particularly liked was that the music was at a volume where you could listen to it but still have a conversation. We were so impressed with the whole experience that we booked a table for the following night. This was a good choice as we were able to try the Halibut dish which was on the specials board. It was absolutely fantastic. Not quite Michelin star but not far off. The second night also gave us a chance to try one of the other beers they make as well as trying their own whiskey which is definitely worth a go. My only slight grumble is that the main menu includes a couple of choices of wine which we chose from on our first visit however when we went on the second night we were given a full wine list. If you're going ask for the full wine list as there are some very nice wines on there. A couple of points to note - Book a table and get in early as the specials board seems to run out very quick. Probably because the food on it is superb. Definitely try something from the specials board. This probably isn't the cheapest place you can go but it is value for money as the food is exceptionally high quality. I can't recommend this place highly enough. The staff were fantastic, especially Andrew and Bridie. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was so welcoming. We're planning to do the west coast of Ireland next year again and will probably have to plan a route where we can stop here again.

02/06/2025: We were there on a Sunday a few weeks ago and the food was good, but the service was overwhelmed. We didn't get water, others who arrived later were given the menu before us, and then our food was forgotten, and they only asked us what we had ordered later.

21/06/2025: Unbelievable dinner experience. Seven of us went to Morrissey's for dinner. One of the best nights of my life. The staff are the unsung heroes of the restaurant, always smiling and quick to ask if you want another drink, or just checking that your food is ok. The food was amazing. When you're traveling around Ireland, you do sometimes lower expectations as you never know what you're going to get....but Morrissey's exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious and the service was amazing. We will definitely be back 👍

13/06/2025: We didn't have a reservation, but we still managed to get a great seat by the window overlooking the terrace and the river. The service was incredibly friendly and attentive. Fresh bread and butter were served to all guests beforehand. For our main course, we ordered sirloin steak and buttermilk chicken. Both were delicious, especially the sauces that accompanied the dishes. For dessert, the host recommended a fantastic local whiskey. A very successful evening for us, and we would return anytime.

09/07/2024: Simple and good. Very friendly staff! Watched football on TV with great sound. We had two meals, the burger which was great and the steak sandwich which unfortunately was disappointing to me as the steak was not so good... as it is listed as one of the specialtys of the house that should've done better! But had an overall great evening.

03/07/2025: The Temple Gate hotel was clean and conveniently located. Neal and other front desk staff were very helpful and truly knowledgeable of the hotel’s and the area’s rich history. The rooms were nice and very clean. My only critique is that there is no AC, which is not unusual in this area and the rooms had plug-in standing fans, which helped along with opening windows. I’m just spoiled by AC, so I’m a bit picky in this regard. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

06/06/2025: a bald inadequate German at the reception shouts all sorts of obscene language at the guests and points to the exit. I highly do not recommend this hotel, I WOULD PREFER TO STAY AT THE ASHFORD HOTEL
