29/08/2025: It would be a 3.5, but there isn't one. Overall, everything was fine, the food was good at a reasonable price... but nothing special that made it stand out. The best part was the duck; it was delicious.

29/08/2025: We enjoyed our dinner. Attentive and friendly staff. The hake was particularly good and to our surprise also the tiramisu.

03/09/2025: Perfect spot to avoid the tourist traps and get a truly decent cup of coffee, decent breakfast food and delicious pastry. Warm and welcoming service - thoroughly recommend this little retreat of a cafe!

19/08/2025: I happened across this café on a hungry morning exiting the shopping mall. The tables outside were full, so I sat indoors. Food was DE LISH OUS. I had a warm cajun chicken wrap with side salad, a custard tart, a coffee, and a glass of water. Total cost €13.70. Staff were busy but very helpful and attentive. There was a nice buzz and mainly older, local clientèle. The walls were decorated with an interesting assortment of paintings by presumably local artists. Highly recommend, would visit again.

17/07/2025: Franchement , ambiance sympa , personnel sympathique … on a super bien mangé … on recommande pleinement… bien placé en ville … la musique pas trop forte ce qui rend ce moment très agréable et tout ça avec le sourire des serveurs

29/06/2025: No reservation. Welcomed and seated immediately. My husband had the burger and I had the beef and Guinness stew. Both were delicious as was the apple pie dessert that followed. Friendly staff. I would recommend and return!

10/09/2025: Day trip to Galway on a rainy Sunday… We found Kirby’s due to its good reviews on here - good to know the process works. Being located just off the main thoroughfare we were concerned it could be packed. However, we discovered the restaurant side of the venue was surprisingly not so busy. Decisions quickly made we settled on a high top table with a good vantage point to watch the comings and goings of Galway. My chums ordered pints of ‘The Black Stuff’ and the beef and Guinness slow cooked stew - after all we are in Ireland. Whilst I opted for a veggie option of chickpea burger and ‘secret sauce’ ! Although looking back I’m sure they needn’t be that secretive ;-) . The stew and the Guinness were triumphant!!! Consumed in silence - always a good sign! My burger was… well a veggie burger albeit well cooked could have done with a little more of a kick plus the serve of fries we thought a little meagre. On our departure we discovered a lovely band had begun to play on the other side of the bar and some guests started to dance, seemed like a superlative way to enjoy the rainy afternoon. The team are super friendly and obliging although the gents toilet could do with a good scour and a little love. Contented we headed back out into Galway ready for the afternoon’s adventures. 17/08/2025: AVOID THIS ESTABLISHMENT – VERY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE A bad experience for a French group of 40 people whose menu was chosen in advance when booking. Before the meal, one of the group fell down the stairs (poorly maintained and slippery) and fractured their tibia. At no time did the staff show any concern. Insurance and emergency services had to be called for hospitalization in Galway. The manager's welcome and attitude were appalling. Several people ordered drinks, and the manager refused to allow each person to pay for their drinks individually, charging a total 10% surcharge for all menus and drinks. The information regarding this 10% surcharge was only communicated a few days beforehand, and only for the menus. The manager refused to compromise, even threatening to call the police while shouting. The bill contained several errors, which she corrected without even apologizing. Apparently, in a response to another comment, you stated that you are known for your outgoing personality and friendly nature, and that you are never hostile to customers. This does not reflect what happened at the dinner on August 12, 2025, and I confirm that your establishment is a TOURIST TRAP. The worst restaurant experience in Ireland. Please avoid any reservations at GEMELLES.

25/08/2025: On our last night in Galway, we stopped by O’Reilly’s for a quick bite, and it was the perfect choice. I had the seafood chowder and goat cheese salad — both were delicious and made with some of the freshest seafood you can find in Ireland. The portions were just right, and the flavors were spot on. My nephew had the Blackrock burger, which he devoured in no time. The ingredients were fresh and top quality. To top it all off, the waitstaff was wonderful, making our experience even more enjoyable. A great way to say goodbye to Galway, and we’ll definitely be back!.

09/08/2025: Stunning views from the roof right across the water. The roof covering is definitely a must and keeps you well sheltered from the winds.

14/09/2025: It’s expensive for what you get breakfast wise, considering the imperial across the road provides a superior service for the same price (I.e all you can eat, free top up) Underwhelming and filter coffee price with no top up is not great

01/09/2025: McCambridge's is one of my favorite places in Galway. Besides being a grocery store full of incredible products, it also has a super cozy café inside. I love stopping by, ordering a coffee, and starting the day in a relaxed way. The atmosphere is calm, perfect for taking a break from the hustle and bustle of Shop Street. The service is always friendly, and the coffee is excellent. A special place I recommend to anyone visiting Galway.

31/12/2024: Muy, muy decepcionado. Visita anualmente @xmas pero nunca más. Gnocchi no comestible, hamburguesas secas, patatas fritas tan fuerte rebotó cuando trató de comer con un tenedor, la merluza era horrible. Platos muy desnudos, sin ensalada de acompañamiento en cualquier plato. Los ñoquis solo tenían un pequeño trozo de pan de ajo, las porciones eran extremadamente pequeñas. No demasiado ocupado así que no hay excusa. Quedó esperando años para ordenar y de nuevo para pagar. Dije que la comida no era buena, pero le dije que no le diré disculpas al chef. No volveré.

08/10/2024: Good for a pint of Guinness to wind down the evening while sitting out front to watch the people. There are bouncers at the door checking ID's but they could clearly tell that I am definitely of age. Inside, loud with music at 8pm on a Saturday night. So it was outside with the pint glass and thankfully, no one smoking out there. Great to sit for an hour and watch the idiots peel out from Eyre Square in their fancy cars. And watch the taxis make the u-turn to the stand directly in front. And when someone did decide to light up, finish off the pint and head onwards. Lots of tourists in town this evening so it was busy all around.

18/09/2025: I have the best time in supermacs, especially after a night out. A man named Armando works in this restaurant and he is a gent. He sorts you out whenever you need it and he is quick with his work. Every time i come in to this restaurant i expect to be fed and the food is beautiful. A large portion is actually a large portion and not a smaller portion. You get what you ask for and it unreal. Before i finish, i just want to let you know, Armando that works in supermacs is a man that will always approach you with a smile and is always interested with any news on a night out. Great man and I hope he is successful. Godbless

02/09/2025: We stayed at the Harbour hotel next door and didn’t even check the rating of the place when we went there. I am surprised by this rating. The food was good. The breakfast is a buffet style and very decent.

20/05/2025: Just don't order the wings. They are basically pigeon wings with mayo, not bleu cheese as stated. However, the hotel is wonderful and the chowder was very good. The breakfast is decent. But get there early, for they run out of potatoes and eggs. You really don't want to miss the eggs; they're perfect.

09/05/2025: Ok food (reason i'm giving more than 1 star) reasonably priced and clean. However the service I got was absolutely awful. I got the full irish which you get a free tee/coffee with. Personally I can't have caffeine (medical reasons), therefore I asked for a decaf coffee. Yes I could just ask for a hot chocolate or something however i thought for something different would be nice. I made it very clear to the waitress atleast twice of my order at the till, which seemed ok so I sat and waited. Fast forward 10 or 15 minutes later and she came with my cappuccino. I asked, to double check, if it's decaf to which she slowly said no. I then (again) explained i can't have caffeine and would like a decaf coffee instead. As she was taking it away she HUFFED as if it was all my fault. My friend noticed she wasn't writing anything down while ordering, and the restaurant was fair quite at the time (that said she did seem to be the only one behind the till.) God knows if I had another food intolerance. Again a few minutes passed and this other waiter came with a cappuccino. I asked if its decaf which he said yes to (this turned out to be my friend's which I didnt know we got the same drink lol). A few seconds later the same lady came out with my coffee. I again questioned if it was decaf where she said yes. At this point I gave it to my boyfriend as I felt couldn't trust them. After drinking it he said there's 100% caffeine in there (I definitely felt more awake after a few sips myself) The waitress seemed to not give a toss about being there. What makes it angry is the way she dealt with the situation. I also work in hospitality (including being a barista at times), and I myself had times where I might make a mistake. However I'd always rectify them and show good customer service. She literally lied to me about what type of coffee it was and made me feel bad for asking to send it back. The manegers really have to give their employees a customer service crash course or something Great start to the day 😃 A few extra points: at first I ordered a mocha, however was charged €12 when the menu said €11.50. When I asked about this she said the mocha was an extra 50 cents. She never said that prior nor as far as I could tell it said on the menu. Also the food came before the drinks, which i thought was a bit weird as usually its the other way around. These weren't not that much of a deal however, just thought I'll point these out aswell.

11/09/2025: Cheap but poor quality food, and they refused tap water despite the legal requirement under the Public Health Act 2018. Trying instead to sell me bottles of water. Again it was cheap and edible but that's all I'll say. Rude service also.
