After I briefly used the restroom, I was confronted about forgetting to flush — fine, human error — but it escalated into being scolded about needing to *wash the sink* because I used hand sanitizer and “you don’t leave a sink that way.” I wish that were satire. What pushed it into absurd territory was the owner then **following me outside onto the street** to continue berating me. For context, this was in Ireland, where public bathrooms regularly survive far worse than a missed flush, and I was a young tourist who had literally just stopped in looking for the Wi-Fi password. That level of hostility says everything about this establishment’s culture. If you’re looking for genuine warmth, fair prices, and an actually wholesome experience, go somewhere authentic instead. Keep your “positive energy” far away from this negative environment — the branding may say serene indication, but the attitude screams bitter.

24/08/2026: 1:30pm August 24th 2026. Girl called out our order and had it in a bag, I said our order isn't for takeaway. She said "I KNOW BUT I'VE NO TRAYS", I didn't say anything then she continued "AND I CAN'T GIVE YOU SOMETHING I DON'T HAVE CAN I?"... Stacks of dirty trays on top of the bins if she had the work ethic or cop on how to solve her lack of trays situation instead of being abrupt and rude to customers. . . 30 euros I wish we spent somewhere else. People like that are not employable which I'm sure she'll discover soon.

15/08/2026: Our guide may have hyped the food quality toooooo much. Average burger, okay fries. That said, the staff was wonderful!!!!

28/11/2025: Has obviously changed with new owners but not for the better. Restaurant size is reduced for the inclusion of a bakers shop. Walls are now bare. The menu and choice has somewhat shrunk. Sorry not changed for the better. Left feeling disappointed that the must have breakfast in Donegal town is no more. NOW PERMANENTLY CLOSED.

09/10/2025: Great food and atmosphere at Dock 84! 🍴☕️ We stopped into Dock 84 while in Donegal Town and had a really enjoyable experience. The place has a relaxed, modern vibe with plenty of space to sit back and enjoy a meal. Staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome right away. 😊 I ordered the grilled chicken burger 🍔🐔 and it was excellent — the chicken was juicy and perfectly cooked, with fresh toppings and a soft bun that held everything together nicely. It was filling without being too heavy, and you could tell the ingredients were fresh. My wife went for the waffle with a spread of Nutella 🧇🍫 and it was a real treat. The waffle was light and fluffy with just the right crisp on the outside, and the Nutella made it indulgent without being over the top. A perfect sweet option to balance out my savory choice. The second time we went we had egg shakshuka and Tikka wrap which was good again as usual One of the highlights here is that Dock 84 has its own bakery products 🥐🍞, and they are absolute delights — fresh, tasty, and clearly made with care. It’s a lovely bonus alongside the main menu. Do note that there’s usually a wait time of around 15 minutes ⏳ throughout the day, but honestly, the food and atmosphere make it worth it. For convenience, there’s a car park directly in front of the café 🚗, though it is a paid one 💳, so keep that in mind if you’re driving in. Service was quick once seated, prices were fair 💶, and the location is ideal if you’re exploring Donegal Town 🏞️. Whether you’re after a hearty bite or something sweet, Dock 84 is a spot worth visiting. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in town! 🙌

06/08/2026: New owners and they’re getting things figured out. Some food was not cooked completely. Not an awesome experience. But I’m sure they’ll get better.

04/08/2026: Had a quick afternoon bite to eat. Given table and waited 10 mins to order. The wild Atlantic sandwich was crab & smoked salmon on brown bread with chips and small salad. It was very tasty. No alcohol served due to ownership change. The toilets need a lot of attention. Friendly but slow service. Food good. Toilets 👎. In no rush back I'm afraid 😟

09/08/2026: Loads of choice, including vegetarian options. All available as take-away as well as eat-in. Friendly service. Good price. Highly recommend.

03/08/2026: It's a real shame that the food exceeds the service. For a take-a-way they try to make it as long a delay as possible until you just give up and leave.

18/08/2026: A great restaurant in a wonderful hotel! Stayed at the hotel for 2 nights and had the breakfast buffet both mornings, and dinner both nights (my son loved the mussels so much night one, he insisted on going back on night two). The people working there were also exceptionally kind.

12/04/2026: The steak is absolutely amazing! Perfectly cooked and seasoned,and the onion ring were phenomenal!

19/08/2026: Even knowing this review will matter to them as much as their customers do, we're writing it thinking of other potential victims of this involuntary fasting. They literally left us without dinner after we had a reservation for 9:15 pm. We placed our order, and after sitting at the table for over an hour watching everyone else being served, including those who had arrived later, with our bottle of wine almost empty, the waitress approached us with a somber expression and said, "Bad news: the kitchen has decided not to serve any more." Without being able to offer any further explanation, we had to get up at 10:50 pm without dinner and with no possibility of getting it anywhere else. Unbelievable, but true. Anywhere else in Galway but this one.

17/08/2026: It’s such a lovely place!! We wanted something nice and quiet to have dinner after dropping everything at the hotel. The girls are super nice and sweet and friendly, and the food is sooo good, specially the desserts 🍮 I definitely recommend this place. If you don’t have a reservation you can just wait at the bar and have a Murphy’s.

21/05/2026: I visited Galway for the day from Cork City and happened upon this wonderful café. I had the Cubano sandwich, paired with a small bottle of Brisa Merlot and a chilled San Pellegrino. Everything was exquisite — simple things done beautifully well. Upstairs, the view overlooking the main thoroughfare was the perfect finishing touch: sitting by the window, watching the world drift by, with the rhythm and charm of Galway unfolding below. A truly memorable little escape.

11/05/2026: Had a wonderful experience at McCambridge. The store has such a warm and inviting atmosphere and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in. Everyone was happy to chat, offer recommendations and make the experience feel personal and relaxed. The hot chocolate was absolutely delicious rich, smooth, and easily one of the best we’ve had. The whisky sampling was also a fantastic touch and made the visit even more enjoyable. It was a great way to try something new in such a comfortable and enjoyable setting. A lovely shop with amazing products, great service, and a genuinely pleasant atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit when in Galway.

19/07/2026: Bad customer service skills as the girl behind the counter was very cheeky to my wife for no reason, also the chips were not cooked enough and the burger I got was over cooked. Please check for other options as I wouldn’t want this to happen to anyone els! 19/7/2026

14/08/2026: Had a family member in hospital and ran across to grab something and settled on a smoky back cheese burger, well hands down it was the best one I've ever had and the freshest absolutely couldn't fault it , delicious, well done
