23/10/2025: Very overpriced food. My sister is vegan and asked what the options were we were told that she could have the macaroni and cheese with no sauce and no cheese, so basically plain pasta and roasted veg. She was very disappointed and ordered two sides. It didn’t stop there when we went to pay using a voucher we got as a gift we were told they could only accept half the voucher as they were under new management for the last year and a half, utterly shocked I had to pay the remainder of the bill, left in disbelief and I will be contacting the manager when he returns.

11/10/2025: We were so satisfied with rib-eye steak and all staff was very kind as well. I definitely highly recommend Martine’s. Thank you so much all the staff. :)

28/10/2025: Excellent restaurant. We had a group of 8 people. Service was very good and food was excellent. Very good atmosphere in the heart of Galway.

17/07/2025: Franchement , ambiance sympa , personnel sympathique … on a super bien mangé … on recommande pleinement… bien placé en ville … la musique pas trop forte ce qui rend ce moment très agréable et tout ça avec le sourire des serveurs

29/06/2025: No reservation. Welcomed and seated immediately. My husband had the burger and I had the beef and Guinness stew. Both were delicious as was the apple pie dessert that followed. Friendly staff. I would recommend and return!

28/09/2025: Very good restaurant, fast service, one problem however: the aperitif is served at the same time as the starter, but this does not change the quality of the food.

27/09/2025: This place is surprisingly unstable. We visit occasionally, and are usually satisfied. Yesterday we were thinking about visiting during the oyster festival, but the prices are high. We get them delivered to our home, and with delivery, they're a third cheaper. A full dose is 18-24 euros straight from the farms. Nearby, at the Japanese restaurant, they were offering a gift tasting. Free. What a treat! Overall, maybe, but not great.

16/11/2025: Had a lovely breakfast with the family top breakfast. Can I have the menu or place u get them potato cubes

15/10/2025: Was highly disappointed with the Breakfast and was early when I was there. Staff looked like they didn't want be there. Place was very quiet not much to do. Breakfast food item were shocking, egg was hard, Rasher was as crisp not even the knife went through it, pudding didn't look great overdone,Beans could count what on plate only decent pieces left were hash brown sausages and toast. Had send all back chef wasn't to pleased but I was paying for it. I got fresh and edible breakfast to standard should have been. Got handed a cup for the tea handle ready come off had get that replaced. Clearly wasn't day eat in there.

27/10/2025: Very basic food experience. A limited menu, no substitutions or changes, so for example, there were 2 sandwiches on the menu and those were the only choices. It was not possible to have one without butter as ‘they come from the kitchen as described ‘. Handy spot if you are in a hurry but rather basic.

20/10/2025: Ordered coffee, flat white and scone, given the scone and flat white and told coffee would be ready shortly, had to go back and ask for the coffee, not busy at the time, no apology, disappointed

18/11/2025: I love to get the Papa John's cookies from this location. Crispy on the outside ooey gooey in the middle, completely delicious!

31/12/2024: Muy, muy decepcionado. Visita anualmente @xmas pero nunca más. Gnocchi no comestible, hamburguesas secas, patatas fritas tan fuerte rebotó cuando trató de comer con un tenedor, la merluza era horrible. Platos muy desnudos, sin ensalada de acompañamiento en cualquier plato. Los ñoquis solo tenían un pequeño trozo de pan de ajo, las porciones eran extremadamente pequeñas. No demasiado ocupado así que no hay excusa. Quedó esperando años para ordenar y de nuevo para pagar. Dije que la comida no era buena, pero le dije que no le diré disculpas al chef. No volveré.

08/10/2024: Good for a pint of Guinness to wind down the evening while sitting out front to watch the people. There are bouncers at the door checking ID's but they could clearly tell that I am definitely of age. Inside, loud with music at 8pm on a Saturday night. So it was outside with the pint glass and thankfully, no one smoking out there. Great to sit for an hour and watch the idiots peel out from Eyre Square in their fancy cars. And watch the taxis make the u-turn to the stand directly in front. And when someone did decide to light up, finish off the pint and head onwards. Lots of tourists in town this evening so it was busy all around.

10/12/2025: Good service and it was quick to get my order.

02/12/2025: Papa's pepperoni plus is supposed to come with extra pepperoni.. 1.5-2 slices of pepperoni per slice of pizza is not extra! They are also making the 14 inch pizzas with 12 or 10 inch pizza doughs as it is extra thin and falls well short of filling the box. To be honest, over the past six months this location has had it's entire staff replaced by certain people with no standards and no English. Shocking for a place that prides itself in serving supposedly "Irish" products. I've finally learned my lesson and won't be going back. I've been disappointed every time I go for months. 09/05/2025: Ok food (reason i'm giving more than 1 star) reasonably priced and clean. However the service I got was absolutely awful. I got the full irish which you get a free tee/coffee with. Personally I can't have caffeine (medical reasons), therefore I asked for a decaf coffee. Yes I could just ask for a hot chocolate or something however i thought for something different would be nice. I made it very clear to the waitress atleast twice of my order at the till, which seemed ok so I sat and waited. Fast forward 10 or 15 minutes later and she came with my cappuccino. I asked, to double check, if it's decaf to which she slowly said no. I then (again) explained i can't have caffeine and would like a decaf coffee instead. As she was taking it away she HUFFED as if it was all my fault. My friend noticed she wasn't writing anything down while ordering, and the restaurant was fair quite at the time (that said she did seem to be the only one behind the till.) God knows if I had another food intolerance. Again a few minutes passed and this other waiter came with a cappuccino. I asked if its decaf which he said yes to (this turned out to be my friend's which I didnt know we got the same drink lol). A few seconds later the same lady came out with my coffee. I again questioned if it was decaf where she said yes. At this point I gave it to my boyfriend as I felt couldn't trust them. After drinking it he said there's 100% caffeine in there (I definitely felt more awake after a few sips myself) The waitress seemed to not give a toss about being there. What makes it angry is the way she dealt with the situation. I also work in hospitality (including being a barista at times), and I myself had times where I might make a mistake. However I'd always rectify them and show good customer service. She literally lied to me about what type of coffee it was and made me feel bad for asking to send it back. The manegers really have to give their employees a customer service crash course or something Great start to the day 😃 A few extra points: at first I ordered a mocha, however was charged €12 when the menu said €11.50. When I asked about this she said the mocha was an extra 50 cents. She never said that prior nor as far as I could tell it said on the menu. Also the food came before the drinks, which i thought was a bit weird as usually its the other way around. These weren't not that much of a deal however, just thought I'll point these out aswell.

09/11/2025: I had the opportunity to eat a delicious kebab. This seemingly popular dish provides indescribable delight to the taste buds. Delicious meat topped with fresh vegetables, I recommend it.

05/11/2025: Ordered a regular beef burger meal for a seat in. After having my fries which where actually very tasty and my drink, I was so full. So I decided to bring my burger as take away, only to find out later that I was actually served a chicken burger instead. I was very disappointed. Even though I was disappointed I will still recommend eating there because the food is tasty and fresh, but maybe physically check your order at the till upon collection to avoid any disappointment.

03/11/2025: We order food to a hotel and received no forks with our food which you typically would but we also added a note to add forks. So I rang and a man answered I told him we didn't receive out forks and can't eat a taco chips with our hands. He told us we are at a hotel go get forks from them then hung up the phone. Whoever this man was should not be working in service with customers. Horrible service. Call was around 19:44

05/11/2025: We found this small, rustic and cozy café thanks to a local’s recommendation — and what a great find it was! I really wanted a proper Irish breakfast, which is usually tricky because my wife is vegetarian. But unlike most pubs, this place truly has something for everyone (all coffee drinks available with oat milk, etc.). The lady behind the counter was super friendly, attentive, and quick. You order at the counter and the food is brought to your table — and even though the place was absolutely packed and she was working on her own, everything came out fast and with a smile. There’s a big selection of homemade smoothies that perfectly round off the experience. Prices are very reasonable — actually a bit cheaper than most other cafés — and the portion sizes were spot on. The coffee was huge, and the food was delicious, freshly made, and arrived sizzling hot. Always a good sign! I honestly don’t understand why this place doesn’t have more stars. Our visit was wonderful, and I can highly recommend it to anyone hungry or thirsty in Galway in the morning.

09/12/2025: No Gift vouchers available in the lead up to Xmas?. Must have called 4 times in the past 2 weeks. I eventually give up and went elsewhere. Poor Service.

01/12/2025: Massive plunge downhill gradually over recent months. Not even a competitor anymore. Something isn't right.
