05/01/2025: Hemos cenado aquí en cada descanso que hemos tenido en Galway en los últimos años. La elección de alimentos a base de plantas es excepcional. Tuvimos brunch aquí este fin de semana en 2 ocasiones y no podía creer que había sido incluso mejor que hace unos meses. El chef/s debe estar súper orgulloso. Los dedos de tofish ( el mejor que he tenido ) , Veet Philly , tostadas “mozzarella” & patatas especiadas estaban súper !

16/12/2024: Muy bonito café con personal muy agradable y buena comida. El ambiente es encantador y tranquilo y recomendaría este lugar para el desayuno. Tenía las tortitas y un batido y estaban deliciosos.

02/02/2025: Beautiful lunch we had bacon and cabbage, irish lamb stew. 2 drinks and Shane Redmond the Bar Man gave us two Christmas drinks on the house. So decent of him he had not seen us since Christmas. He got to be the best bar man in Galway.

10/03/2025: Had a great meal at this Irish restaurant in the heart of Galway. The ribeye steak was cooked perfectly—tender and full of flavor. You can really tell they use good-quality ingredients. The service was excellent, super friendly and efficient, even though the place was busy. It’s in a great central location, right in the middle of the city, so it’s always lively. For being in such a prime spot, the prices are really fair, which was a nice surprise. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Galway and looking for good Irish food!

15/02/2025: This restaurant is labeled as Irish, but that’s misleading—it’s an American restaurant. As soon as we sat down, we noticed a glass with red lipstick on it—not a faint mark, but very noticeable. When we asked the waiter for a replacement, she didn’t apologize or acknowledge the issue. Instead, she seemed annoyed with us, which was disappointing. I decided to let it go, but it set the tone for the night. The oysters were great, but everything else was below average. The mac and cheese with truffle had barely any truffle, making it overpriced and underwhelming. My kid’s order didn’t arrive until we were already finishing our meal, which speaks to how disorganized the service was. This all happened while the owner was overseeing our table. The restaurant wasn’t busy, and while he made small talk and tried to be friendly, what we really needed was for the food to actually arrive on time. Instead, he barely acknowledged the issues and brushed them off like they weren’t a big deal. The tables didn’t feel particularly clean and gave more of a café vibe than a proper restaurant. By the end of the night, the waiters switched, and the new ones were much friendlier and more attentive. But overall, it’s clear this restaurant is struggling.

10/03/2025: Stopped in for breakfast. I got scrambled eggs, soda bread toast, bacon and an Irish coffee

26/03/2025: We celebrated our Daughter confirmation in the Galleon and it was amazing. Staff couldn't do enough for us. They were friendly and helpful and made sure we had everything. Food was delicious. They explained clearly what the ingredients in food was because we had dairy intolerance and gluten free. We really enjoyed it and I highly recommend anyone planning an event or a birthday coming up to check the Galleon.

11/03/2025: El mejor y más agradable pub de Galway. La comida siempre es increíble, especialmente las alitas de pollo con papas fritas. Las pizzas son las mejores también. El personal es muy profesional y amable y siempre buscando ayudar. La decoración general y el ambiente son muy acogedores. Recomiendo McGinns para bebidas / comida sola, una noche con amigos o grupos más grandes. Siempre es una buena idea reservar una mesa especialmente para las noches de fin de semana ocupado. Cuidado, una vez que entres en McGinns no querrás irte a otro pub más tarde. Tiene todo lo que puedas necesitar, con un dueño amable que vendrá y te saludará, independientemente de que seas habitual o primerizo.

25/02/2025: We happily stumbled across this lovely little spot on my last full day in Galway. The atmosphere inside was calm and peaceful and the food was absolutely delicious. My brother and his daughter enjoyed a warming soup, my 2 year old niece ate it all up so it must have been delicious! I enjoyed a platter with a variety of different vegetables both cooked and fresh and some yummy rice. Such a lovely place to sit, watch the world go by, and enjoy a nourishing meal made with love with family. Thank you for the lovely service also.  I would recommend Jemi Lighthouse, to all my friends and family, and will come again during my next visit to Galway.

15/02/2025: Very cosy, but a bit small, restaurant with tasty vegetarian meals. Hotpot is great.

25/03/2025: Came with friends for breakfast and I know it could be annoying to get customers with lots of bags (we just came back from a trip) but the place was empty so plenty of room and it shouldn’t have been a problem, anyway the waiter was really cocky both when we asked for a table (nobody in reception and we waited for it but since nobody came in we had to ask at the bar) and specially when he took our order Food and price were ok and at least the rest of the staff, the people who brought our food, were all super nice. However I was shocked when I went to the bathroom and realised there’s a camera above the urinals and, not only that, one of the toilets was out of place (attaching photo) like literally sideways in the cubicle, unbelievable. We’ll never be back in any Hyde bar or hotel

17/03/2025: Absolutely stunning location. Food is a tad expensive but I think well worth it. They’ve a great selection of cocktails aswell. I would definitely say if you want to splash the cash The Hyde is definitely worth it. Staff are lovely aswell 🫶

04/01/2025: My wife and I had a meal here...fillet steak. The best we have had in a very long time. You should try this restaurant....beautiful.

11/03/2025: The steak and the chicken dishes were great. HINT: If you want a medium steak, ask for rare. The booth we chose had seats that were a tad uncomfortable but not too bad. The staff were great!

10/03/2025: I have to say this is a wonderful hotel. I only live down the road, but had to stay during a blackout and the rooms were lovely and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely too, plenty of choice. Recently I've attended a function and the food was wonderful. Also I've been in the meeting rooms and they are bright and airy. All in all a super hotel, great food, staff and decor. Thumbs up from me!

09/03/2025: Our stay was okay, but not great value for money. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the swimming pool was nice, with a separate changing room and travel cot, which was a great touch for families. However, there were several issues. The elevator had a strong chemical smell, our room had maintenance problems (loose door handle, peeling wallpaper, and a non-working TV remote), and it was uncomfortably hot with no thermostat. Room service stopped at 8:30 PM, which felt quite early, and breakfast was expensive for what it was. The pool is also public, so there were kids’ swimming lessons during our visit. Prior to our stay, I had inquired about wedding brochures and a meeting to discuss hosting our wedding here, but no one followed up. When I asked again at reception, I was told to email the events team. After staying, I’ve decided not to consider this venue, and I was disappointed by the lack of effort. Overall, the hotel was just okay, but I wouldn’t stay again.

01/02/2025: Room was lovely and clean and the bathroom was lovely too. The man who checked us in was very friendly, however when I walked into reception upon arrival the woman with short dark hair turned to her co worker and said make sure you charge them a security deposit. Security deposit was outlined on the booking reservation I just thought it was strange as the man beside us who came in after us was checked in and didn’t pay a security deposit. The woman seemed a bit rude. The man at check out the next morning was very professional and very nice.

23/12/2024: Has obviously changed with new owners but not for the better. Restaurant size is reduced for the inclusion of a bakers shop. Walls are now bare. The menu and choice has somewhat shrunk. Sorry not changed for the better. Left feeling disappointed that the must have breakfast in Donegal town is no more.

15/03/2025: Tuvimos un post increíble - fiesta de Navidad aquí en el día festivo de febrero! Nuestro grupo era grande, y todos estaban encantados con sus opciones de comida. El personal era increíblemente amable y eficiente. Un agradecimiento especial a Niamh y Terry por acomodarnos. Definitivamente volveremos!
