21/05/2026: Delicious food and ok quick service

20/05/2026: Food: Beef Stew was great. Nice chunks of tender beef, onions and carrots. Save some "sauce" for the sides, mashed, carrots, turnips and roasted potatoes. Service: Waitress had a "short and sweet attitude" no frills, yet not rude in any way. I could see this as a turn off for some but we dont mind it. Atmosphere: Small and quaint, old school. We always try to find those "hole in a wall" places off the main drag anytime we travel away from the tourist traps. Get away from the mainstream places and grab some good food from Finnegans!

31/10/2025: Called in here for lunch during the week, was seated and had my order in front of me within 10/15 minutes. Their toasted sandwich, chicken pesto sandwich and chips were all super delicious and extremely well priced. Highly recommend stopping in here if you're in Athlone and looking for a tasty and affordable meal.

22/10/2025: Location was wonderful. the staff was very kind and tried to be as helpful as possible… Rooms were very outdated, extremely dusty/musty, beds very uncomfortable, Wi-Fi didn’t work half the time & AC was broken with inability to be fixed. The room also smelled terribly of a nursing home which did not dissipate at all with our windows open for two days.

21/10/2025: Such a great spot! I was visiting Galway for a few days with my family, and we could not have picked a better location. All the staff were so kind. Henrique at reception in particular was incredibly helpful and very fun to converse with.

14/05/2026: Good place for fish and chips, good value for money. The portions are generous, so go hungry. I recommend trying the smoked fish.

04/05/2026: Would highly recommended anyone going into Galway centre should go to Darcy’s Bar. Amazing atmosphere and staff are wonderful! Had the best time, will be coming back very soon and this place will be the first place I go!!! From England Kent.

11/05/2026: Great hotel with an outstanding dining experience. The food was freshly cooked, full of flavour, and prepared to a very high standard. Every dish tasted fresh, rich, and well balanced, clearly made with care and quality ingredients. The menu offers a great variety of food, with something to suit everyone’s taste. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, clean, spacious, and maintained to the highest standards, creating a very relaxing atmosphere for dining. The staff were friendly, professional, and welcoming throughout the visit. Free parking was also a great advantage. Really enjoyed the food and overall experience. Highly recommended!

09/05/2026: Great location, room well maintained, great shower pressure. would have been better,if you ask the guest permission take a copy of guest ID. Restaurant service was just ok, we ordered goat cheese salad and prawns from the starter, salad was delicious but didnt fancy much the prawns. Overall we had a pleasant stay

25/05/2026: This restaurant is like most other restaurants in Ireland. Its menu is misleading , it specifically says hand cut chips, which could not be further from the truth. The chips are bought in and cooked from frozen 🥶 🤢🤢🤢. Enough said 🤢🤢🤢🤢

07/05/2026: The staff is very friendly, but unfortunately, the breakfast is very basic and repetitive; the bread and other items are dry. The advertised indoor pool is a public one, and swimming caps are mandatory. It's very noisy, as children's groups also use it for lessons, so it's not a relaxing place. The restaurant in the evening doesn't offer much choice and is a bit overpriced considering the portion size. The location is good; you can quickly reach the beach and the nearest bus stop in about 10 minutes.

22/05/2026: Really loved it - only thing was we wanted to order dessert but couldn’t get seen so didn’t bother in the end.

12/05/2026: THE best strip sirloin I have ever had. The garlic butter, cooked perfectly, bacon, and pearl onions. Paul Hollywood could not have put together a better combo. This was a meal of pure bliss. I wanted more and sadly forgot my 2nd stomach. The roasted chicken was very nice. Slightly overcooked however still tasty. The layered potatoe was very interesting. Lamination layers like I've never seen. I highly recommend Kirby's. It was well worth it.

17/05/2026: This is a wonderful bakery cafe for breakfast or lunch. The staff is very friendly and the food is delicious!

10/05/2026: Not a pub - nice and quiet place for a quick bite during the day.
