20/07/2026: Kirby’s of Galway was exactly what we were looking for after a day of exploring the city. It offers quality comfort food in a warm, welcoming setting, making it an easy restaurant to recommend to a wide range of diners. The menu has plenty of variety, so whether you’re after seafood, steak, traditional Irish dishes or something lighter, there is something to suit most tastes. Everything we ordered was well prepared, generously portioned and full of flavour. This isn’t a restaurant trying to reinvent fine dining, and that’s actually one of its strengths. It focuses on serving satisfying, well-executed meals using good ingredients, and it does that very well. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, making it a great place to unwind over dinner. Despite being popular, the service remained friendly, efficient and professional throughout our visit. The staff struck the right balance between being attentive and allowing us to enjoy our meal at our own pace. Sometimes when travelling you simply want a dependable restaurant where you know you’ll receive a quality meal, pleasant surroundings and good service. Kirby’s delivered on all three. We left very satisfied and could easily see ourselves returning on a future visit to Galway. If you’re visiting Galway and want a reliable restaurant with a broad menu and consistently good food, Kirby’s is well worth considering.

11/08/2026: Was greeted and seated right away by Manager and given water for the table. Poached eggs were undercooked. No one came to the table to check on us so when it was time to pay I mentioned to staff that I could not eat the dish. No apology and I was presented with the bill. Had to explain that I wasnt paying for my meal. Manager was notified and brought plate to the kitchen. Came back and removed the item from the bill. No acknowledgement or apology. Staff training needs to be improved.

09/08/2026: Despite having tried to book 20 days ago and promised to be seated, the restaurant refused us on my wife birthday. What an awful experience.

26/07/2026: Really good food. Big portions and well made. We came in with five children and the staff were really welcoming and friendly.

21/05/2026: Hotel is large with multiple restuarants and meeting spaces. Great for tour groups. Great location and nice staff. Decor feels tired and worn. We had a spacious standard room but if felt old.

30/05/2026: The hotel is in a great location right on the water! Breakfast is okay, it’s a decent spread but definitely underwhelming compared to other stays in Ireland and id recommend getting there early, it’s night and day compared to coming late when it’s packed and picked at. Also would’ve loved to have scones. Lastly room was great, only thing is it was quite dirty and the shower only had one temperature and that’s extra hot. For the price I paid I’d argue that it was unacceptable to have dirt visible on the couch.

19/05/2026: One of the best hotels Ive been in for a long time. Rhe most friendly staff that looked genuinely happy to be doing their job with genuine friendly. Great atmosphere and location. Brilliant food and swimming facilities for both 8 and 16 year old kids as well as adults. Definitely going back in autumn
